Thank you. Your instructions helped. I am back from Vietnam and got my iphone 15 pro max for INR 88000 after VAT refund. I took a chance and opened the seal on day 1 of Vietnam as I wanted to take lots of good quality photos. I put some chocolates into the box and sealed it again with some glue 😀. They did not check it properly and I got the refund. This was a risk but I took it. Just one correction to your instructions. Now if you are bringing the item in Cabin Baggage, you dont have to go to the first counter. They have created another window near MSB bank (Gate 31) which will check your item.

Hi. Thanks for this informative video. I am planning Vietnam trip in end of March. I have some questions. Can you help me out… 1- How many new iPhones can we bring to India from Vietnam. 2- Should the box be opened before showing customs in India? Will there be a problem if the box is sealed pack?

The box should be a sealed pack if you want a VAT refund from the airport ...if you open it they will deny the VAT refund......also one Device i bought with no issues...if you want to bring more devices...you need to double check on that...

if seal is broken then no VAT refund you will get. One device is not a issue with customs.

VAT refund you will only get when you complete security check ... then getting out of the airport not possible...plus i suggest Better talk with Vietnam customs they will better guide you...if you are not leaving the country

only purchase iPhone pro variants. simple iPhone 15 is cheap in India. For dollar exchange I prefer gold shops. don't exchange at the airport. Horrible rates.

Bro the VAT refund can be claimed while leaving the country only right? Because I bought the phone from Hanoi and now I am taking a domestic flight and travelling to Danang and then to Ho Chi Minh within Vietnam. That means I can claim the refund only when I leave to India from Ho Chi Minh right? Also I am guessing the refund counters will be available only inside international terminal. Kindly confirm whethery understanding is correct.

yes during leaving... they will check passport and your return tickets..... international terminal of hanoi i have explored...for other airports try to confirm it from local authorities

your passport number matters..in bill..4 people can buy 4 iPhone ...no issues...i suggest 4 bill kerana...for each person's name...for forex card you can use it...for all ..also if you are claiming VAT refund from airport...then 4 bills with different names ... recommended
