Switched from 13 Pro Max to 15 Pro and I’m enjoying the form factor so far. Not into mobile gaming so the screen size is just right for me. The battery life is good enough to get me through the day. The pro variant is way more comfortable to use than the pro max, for me.
I did. I went from the 14 Pro Max to the regular 15 Pro. So refreshing! It is the perfect size. I feel that creatively the 3x is more useful than a 5x. So I don't feel like I am missing out.
Similar boat for me. I upgraded from a 12 Pro to a 15 Pro Max. Ended up returning the max for a 15 Pro. I wasn’t really using the 5x and the size was just cumbersome enough to make me miss the more one-handable normal size. Super happy with the 15 Pro.
@@JonImperial For me, black. Always black. I like the look of the blue & titanium, but whenever I see black on tech video I feel immediate envy. Just my go to.
I have been using an iPhone XS for about 5 years ( I upgrade about every 5 years)and I am looking to upgrade. I have (pick up tmr) chosen the 15 pro because of size and I did think about the pro max, but really, the pro is the sensible choice in my opinion for ergonomics alone. As for the battery ;life that I am hearing about, I don't think that I will have any issues with this at all, but I am curious about power banks as I have never owned one or even needed one. Yep, the 15 pro with a uag case is the sensible choice for me.
I brought the 15 Pro. As an iPhone Mini fan this iPhone is pretty much perfect. And the screen is amazingly bright. I just love this iPhone. The battery easily lasts all day for me.
Upgraded from 12P to 15P, and have nagging uncertainty about whether I should have gotten the 15P Max. Your video helped me feel better about the 15P, especially the camera comparisons at 3X and 5X. Surprised to see how good the 15P is at 5X.
@@JonImperial probably because at 3x 15 Pro is using telephoto lens while 15 Pro Max is using the main camera (at 3x digital zoom) and at 5x 15 pro is using digital zoom(1.6x) on 3x telephoto giving better results
I have the 15P and I'm getting twice your SoT. For real. I 've just came back from my second trip with it and after heavy use, +300 pictures in RAW (most of them 48MP) in a day, Apple Pay, flight boarding passes, WhatsApp, Instagram, etc. I got into the plane at 7pm with 40% battery. 32 cycle count right now, and still 100% maximum capacity. Great video, btw. Super happy to see that our 5x is not that far at all.
The only disadvantages of 15 pro is the battery life.Besides, it is a perfect phone, especially I really enjoy its one-hand size feature.Hopely in the future, apple could improve pro model battery problem. Nice review🎉
Polished. Upgrading from the 13PM, and after watching your video, definitely going to go with the 15Pro. I’m tired of the larger PM form factor and agree on your views of the 3x vs 5x camera zoom. I WFH, so the battery life will be a rare consideration for me, which I will probably solve with a MagSafe battery pack if needed. Thank you for a well rounded review!
I like how you make the comparison so easy to watch, while giving very practical and real life advices. I have upgraded my 7+ (finally after 7 years!) to 15P; was thinking if I should go with 15 PM ( in case I am going to have it for 7years 😂). Your video makes feel 15P is the right choice.
I’m in the same boat. I have a 7+ still and have been contemplating between the P or PM. the difference in Canada is $300 but I think the P is the smart choice if you’re just a regular person.
polished! I'm just about to go pick up an iPhone 15 pro. Couldn't make my mind up between the pro and pro max. I thought I was going to miss out if I didn't get the pro max, but after your video, I think I'm going to be quite happy sticking to the pro. Thanks again for the video!
Thank you so much for the video! Love the content. I just got a 15 pro and didn’t think it was going to improve much from the 14 pro. It is so much faster. The new chip is impressive
Just purchased the iPhone 15 Pro! Looking to explore all of its features. Thanks for the video on the 15 Pro vs 15 Pro Max. I felt the 15 Pro fits my needs. I have Sony A6700 camera so when I wanted to go higher then 3x the camera’s lenses would be a better fit then paying the extra $$ for the 15Pro Max. I’m using the extra funds to purchase the case & stand. 🙏🏾👍🏾😎
@@JonImperial The pro model. Like you, I like the pocket size convenience and one hand navigation on display works well for me. Plus, it will support the upcoming Apple Intelligence technology that I’m looking forward to enhancing business communication I’m upgrading from a dated 0:02 iPhone 11.
Oh I notice how much nicer, lighter and smaller it feels in the hand even with a case on. I was wanting to go with the smaller Pro for the first time because I was over how big the Pro Max felt. Thank god I didn’t! And yeah that 120hz is what made me make the switch to iPhone with the 13 Pro max. Loving the acation button too, I have it set to open up video camera. I have battery set to charge to 80% and at the end of my day I still have 50ish %! I went with the natural titanium in 1tb to match my ultra 2. I’m so in love with these two pieces of tech. It’s amazing!
Used the 15 Pro for almost 2 weeks, now using the 15 Pro Max for a couple days now. I actually really enjoy the Max and have large enough hands to use it one handed. But a case makes it a little too bulky. Not too sure if I’ll keep it. But it’s the phone that gives me the least frustration to use on a daily basis. I can see it easily and type easily.
Polished! I have to say, the whole video is polished! Appreciate the insight into using both phones. If I do upgrade I think I’ll stick to the regular Pro model than go for the Pro Max model.
Jon - I stumbled upon your channel while browsing for 15 pro vs pro max. I am blown away by your creativity and clear concise points on your reviews. I got all I wanted to know from this video. Huge thanks and an on the spot subscriber. Look forward to more of your videos and will follow your desk gear!! 🙌
Great comprison especially that 3x vs 5x camera zoom. You also added the 12 Pro which is my current phone it definitely helped me decide to get a 15 Pro
Polished!! Coming from a 12 Pro, this is the only video I’ve seen in my researching for a new phone that hits all the right notes and compares the exact details I look at when deciding between the two. Definitely influenced my decision for my phone for the next 3 years! 🙏🏼
I upgraded to the 15 Pro Max from the 13 Pro. I’ve never had the Pro Max before, but I’m really starting to prefer it over the Pro. The battery life is insane, and I’m enjoying the bigger display. I can easily get through a day, closer to a day and a third on one charge. I could never get anywhere close to that on my 13 Pro or 12 Pro. But it’s like you said: it’s all about trade-offs, and what is more important to the user. If form factor and reachability, especially if you have smaller hands, is more important, the 15 Pro probably makes more sense.
@@JonImperial it’s awesome! I find myself using it a lot more than I thought I would. I can get really good pics from Pier 39 of Alcatraz, and the natural bokeh when taking portraits with it is also good.
Absolutely loving my 15 pro max so far. I thought the bigger size would be tough to adjust to but I realized I have giant hands and it’s a perfect fit for me. Definitely a big time upgrade from my 12
This vid is polished brother. Well done! Loved your camera comparisons and was surprised to see that the 5x basically looked identical to the 3x. Completely agree with everything else you said too!
Excellent video. I initially went with the 15 PM thinking the 5x would make a huge difference and also not realizing it sacrificed 3x quality shots. I just assumed it was the same as the smaller 15 Pro with the addition of looking better at when you went past 3x. What ended up being the real dealbreaker was its size. I just couldn't get used to its large size so I returned it for the smaller 15 Pro and have been very happy since I did that. My battery lasts me all day (which for me is 7 am to around 11 pm) with enough room to spare and even on heavy use days I never have battery anxiety and since I tend to shoot pics in the 1x to 3x range more I'm technically getting better shots than the 15 PM. Even when I got past 3x the quality diff isn't drastic to where I feel like I'm missing out. Both are excellent phones, but I just love having a smaller variant.
This was an excellent review! I too had the 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max. Even though I loved the PM size for content consumption and the larger battery, I ultimately stuck with the 15 Pro for comfortability and practicality. I took a phone call on the PM and it was wayyy too big. Downright silly. Your camera tests proved what I was having trouble justifying for the PM. When I wanted 3x on the PM it looked terrible. And it was digitally cropping most of the time unless the lighting was perfect which was annoying. Losing out on quality between 2x-5x zoom on the PM was not ideal either. Transparently, I had the 14 Pro, but the 15 Pro had enough improvements for me to justify upgrading; Better HDR5, better connectivity, a more comfortable and lighter design, USB-C that I can use with my drum mixer, and ProRES LOG…Couldn’t be happier with the 15 Pro! Also, you have yourself a new subscriber! Looking forward to seeing more videos from you!
15 Pro Max is the phone to get this year. It feels smaller and lighter then last year’s model. Good enough for one hand use. The battery is significantly better on the pro max as well. And the 5x lens in my opinion is fun to use.
Omg thank you for the 3x and 5x comparison! Thinking of getting a second phone for photo/videography work and wasn’t sure which one to get between the pro and pro max and this solidified my decision ❤
Polished. A really great and concise informative review. I was unsure which iPhone 15 to get.Your comments were a big help and I have now decided, thanks to you which one is likely to suit me.
Excellent and thorough review, insta subscribed! Thanks for sending this content out. I was debating the 15P vs PM and your thoughts were v helpful. The 3x seems to make a nice polished unit.
I have the 12 , and upgraded to 15 pro max, I really dont feel like huge leap, I couldn't live without. I't not mindblowing. as you said, it's the same thing. I am keeping my 12.
I decided to try 15PM coming from 12P. I am lovin it so far. Bigger screen and 5x zoom are great! But most impressed by battery life. My avg screen time is 3h. I charge upto 80% only and can use it for two whole days lol ! But with the bigger size and my tiny hands, I miss using it one handed, but got used to it. Also don't find it heavy inside pockets.
I’m thinking of getting the 15 pro max too. I really like the larger display and the 5x zoom camera; as well as longer battery life. I know they are a bit more bulky though. Does that really not bother you?
Super polished video! You helped me bigtime on which model to buy. Coming from a 13pm might go to 15p this time. I have noticed that 5x with 15pm is just a cropped picture of 3x not sure though. Thanks again. Now time to get my 15p 🥳🥳🥳🥳
"I have noticed that 5x with 15pm is just a cropped picture of 3x not sure though." It is the other way around. When you record 3x photo/video on 15PM, that is done by cropping "normal" (wide angle) 48mpix camera, while on 15P, that is done by using 12mpix tele-photo lens of the phone. When you record 5x photo/video on 15PM, that's done by using 12mpix tele-photo lens on the phone, while on 15P, that is done by cropping 12mpix tele-photo lens to match 5x magnification.
Very useful video. I'm going with the Pro for the ergonomics, I think that you make a great point about having a power bank, it will probably not be needed most of the time, and you don't have to sacrifice the ergonomics 100% of the time, as it would happen with the Pro Max.
I agree with you and I am choosing the 15 pro also mainly because of ergonomics and the pro is a sensible. I still have an old 4s here and I never thought that it was too small at the time.
@@charli33401do you wish you went with the max ? Or are you happy with the pro size ? I have a 13 mini and I can’t do the terrible battery anymore. I’m thinking I’ll get the 15 pro
Polished. Thanks for sharing your experience as I have hesitated upgrading because I just could not decide which phone would suit me best. I love photography and have been excited about the camera upgrades, but not sure on getting an even bigger phone than the Plus I now own. Your review certainly helped clarify what I need to choose. Thanks!
Wow, I've been watching a lot of tech reviews abt the IP 15 Pro and Pro Max for the past few months now and I still can't decide which one to get, until I saw your video, you answer all of my concern and questions as a regular consumer. Thank you!
This is the first year I’ve tried the max model, and I highly recommend it. I don’t ever see myself going back to the standard size it’s just too small.
Polished! Great comparison! Just what I needed to make up my mind! The 15 Pro is a winner! Also, could you let me know if there is a link for the magnetic stand you showed? Thanks again!!
My first time watching one of your videos and I’m so grateful! I don’t know much about technology. Since I’m a new Grandma I just wanted to get a phone with the best camera that iPhone has. I just made the assumption that the IPhone Pro Max would be the best. I ordered it from Verizon….however I soon realized that I accidentally ordered the pro and not the pro max. I googled pro vs pro max comparison and up came your video. I now realize mistakenly ordering the pro was a happy accident. Thank you sooooo much for the education! I’m subscribing to your channel. ❤
Thank you, John, for comparing the iPhone 15 Pro with the 15 Pro Max. I am upgrading from iPhone X so either one looked like an acceptable upgrade for me. Having watched your review, I have now been able to make up my mind.
Thank you for an informative video. I was actually torn on which model to get. I’m still using my 11 til now and any of these two looks like a great upgrade for me! ☺️
@@JonImperial I’m actually leaning on iphone 15 pro. The only thing that still makes me think is the 5x zoom since I’m gonna watch The Eras Tour next year, and maybe it’s gonna be useful for zooming in. But aside from that I think I might be getting iphone 15 pro only since it’s more “pocketable” and 5x zoom is not that needed on a daily basis ☺️
I was caseless using the Pro Max for 2 weeks. I'm considering trying going caseless for a bit just to test out the titanium material. But I always have the wallet and tripod with me.@@BozardsInAlaska
The battery life on the pro max is better but not as good as the 13 pro max though. Also i traded in my 128GB 13 pro max for a 256GB 15pro and i love it. I like the feel, look and light weight and fits in my pocket better and fits in my hands better. 15 pro is the perfect size iPhone.
Switched to 15 pro from XR and feels like century uprgrade for me in terms of display, camera, performance and literally everything. The jump to 120 Hz screen from 60 Hz is such a welcoming change.
Polished 👌🏾 Love your video. I have a 15 Pro myself and I love it. It’s first time using this small form factor coming from Pro Maxs and I totally love. Only thing I miss is the battery life of the Pro Maxs. But with my MagSafe battery pack from I’m good to go. There’s just something so right about the 6.1 inch size. 😊😊
Polished I’m currently in a similar predicament choosing between the phones as I’ll get the opportunity of buying one at the end of the month I’m steering towards Pro at the moment
@@AceCmbatguy25 I’ve always wanted a ‘Max’ size phone for as long as I could remember. I finally pulled the trigger this time round and it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. The size just feels perfect, not to mention the noticeable increase in battery life, more screen estate etc etc, I think you won’t regret it!
Assigning additional actions to the action button is wonderful especially when using variable press functions such as long press or double press. And if there's an additional action button then this will increase the fun or excitment with even more press variables or functions. 😎💯💪🏾👍🏾 Adding a 5x zoom on the smaller, base iPhone will be a fantastic idea because not everyone will like to own a bigger phone so catering for everyone is smart. But I absolutely believe the bigger phones will always sell despite those who prefer a smaller model. 😎💯💪🏾👍🏾
Until or unless Apple allows split screen on iPhone I see no advantage to the larger Max versions of the iPhone, even the standard size iPhone is too big for me. I loved my former iPhone 12 Mini but it was limited in camera zoom capabilities and battery life so when I got an offer to trade it for the 14 Pro I couldn’t resist. Once you get used to the promotion display and having a 3X camera it would be hard to go back to a phone without these features, nevertheless I think a slightly smaller phone maybe 5.7-5.8 inches with all the Pro features would be ideal
I went to the Apple Store to swap my 15P for a 1TB model (was using 512GB) and I talked myself into the Max, was swapping anyway. It didn't seem that drastically different in the store, but man, I just can't get used to this thing! The battery life really is great and all (was originally coming from 11P) and the screen is nice for some things, but it's just a pain to deal with on a day to day basis, so now I think I'm going to go back yet again and get the regular 15P (with 1TB) while I'm in the return window. I def learned that Max size isn't right for me, and I have large hands (wear XL gloves).
It depends on what you value. If you are planning on doing a good amount of work on your phone like reviewing contracts, email, invoice etc. the size of the Pro Max is really nice. The increased battery life is also great! 👌🏾 The Regular Pro is great for portability. The 3x will likely be more useful for your work. Taking pictures for documentation etc.
Polished! To be honest, I upgraded my regular 12 to 15 pro 7 days ago. When I came home, I was still undecided about whether or not to get 15PM because I had upgraded the size and the amount was essentially the same. Up until I saw the clip when you contrasted 15pro to pm. And I adore how you shared your ideas and insights in exploring the 2 devices. I am happy and impressed with what I got now! By the way, I got white titanium.🥰
Polished! Rhanks for that i have an older iPhone n i hated it. But i think i want to try the promax for the size especially i dont like small phones cuz my hands dont always work wit me so i think it will help. O have a question. As far a size difference would u say pro max is smaller or bigger then Samsung A14?
Nice video bro, i had buy a 15 pro max than changed with the 15 pro, dosnt really need the bigger screen and the 5x zoom, im just concern about the battery, the pro Max just feel like a tablet and the one hand use was almost impossible, what u think of that swich ?
I've gone from using 120hz to 60hz a few times with no problem. Used the S23 Ultra, 14 Pro, Pixel 7 along with a few others and currently using a Pixel 6a....high refresh is at the bottom of my list especially with such a small screen
Nice wallpaper and iPhone desk setup. Maybe you mind creating a dedicated video how to build a well looking, efficient iPhone and Mac working space? Would be really nice. Good job anyway. 🎉
I had iphone 13 pro Worst battery life Small screen stressed my eyes when i had to read emails or anything online I have a pro max with ultra thin case. Works perfectly for me. I wish apple introduce 6.5 inch screen iphone

Polished...Good review. Thanks. I was thinking about the 15Pro but I found out you can minimize the screen on the 15PM for one handed use by going to Settings > Accessibility > Touch, then turn on Reachability.
Polished!!! I think you helped me decide what to upgrade to I been debating on 15 pro or 15 pro max I think imma get the pro I have iPhone 13 max pro right now and it’s bulky n heavy
I switched from the iPhone 12 Pro Max to the 15 Pro Max mainly because I accidentally cracked one of the camera lenses. Fortunately, our network provider offered me a great deal on the upgrade, which made financial sense. However, in terms of everyday use, I haven't really noticed much of a difference. Sure, the 15 Pro is smoother, but you'd have to be comparing it side by side with the 12 Pro to really see it. Now, let's talk about that 120 Hz refresh rate. Honestly, it's been hyped up a lot by RU-vidrs, but in real-life use, it's not something most people would notice unless they're doing those side-by-side comparisons, which, let's be real, isn't something the average person does. So, don't stress about it too much. I genuinely believe that most of the newer phones are fast enough for 99.9% of the population. If your older phone still does everything you need it to do, then stick with it. Only upgrade when you absolutely need to.
That 120 hz aint no joke guys. Once you use it ain't no going back. I tried using iphone 13 for a simple task and the phone feels laggy asf even though it is not..
I upgraded from 13 pro to 15 pro. One thing I can say was that my 13 pro when it was on iOS 15 offered much better battery. I could usually get through 2 days easily, but on the 15 pro I’m barely making it through one day now. Only complaint is battery life, next year if the 16 pros have good battery life I will switch
Apple will market the 16 pro having better battery life because they need to give users a reason to upgrade. (Full disclosure, I use a lowly iPhone 12)
@@AnthonyRU-vids They’re mainly supposed to target the 13 pro users on the 16 pro. They advertise how much the 15 is better than the 12. So they’ll need a jump in battery for sure, past 2 generations have just been getting worse
Polished video ;) I really enjoyed hearing your experience with the two models, especially seeing the differences between the models using actual photographs. Amazingly helpful, and super detailed. Thank you so much for the time you invested!
