Actually they do if you've seen the chart shown in the video depicting the timelines of how the new display technology is planned for next few years signifies the fact that apple has the required technology well in advance to make say like iPhone 20 or so but just to boost sales as we consumers buy anything that they sell with apple logo its easier for apple to make minor improvements year after year and keep stretching those technology for many years as like 120hz display or dynamic island could've been given to us much earlier than planned !!!
I’m not holding off for the 17. To be honest, it sounds like they are still trying to figure that all out. If they do make it slimmer and put Face ID under the display, I will give them a year to work out the kinks on that. I have a feeling there might be a few issues! I’ll get the 16 and revisit a purchase with the 18.
It's so easy to skip. Having been a apple sheep 🐏. I do not see any point in upgrading. My excitement during Apples iPhone releases is -1000. Tim Cook will run the company into the ground. It take time but it is on its way.
@@melgross Anyway It should have increased a long time ago and the current ones still only use 8GB, it doesn't even make sense for the iPad Pro with M4 to limit the RAM through software when its hardware has 12GB... and it should be 16gb anyway, 12gb is at maximum Ok, not good, and in few years it will be not enought, and it does'nt make sense for products should be durable...
@@iagomorandi6543agreed, I was going to buy the latest iPad but the lack of RAM has put me off, since it won’t handle the what will being coming out in the not so near future, plus the ridiculous price point to increase the RAM and only being possible if you also upgrade hard drive to 1tb. This is what sucks about Apple.

Then there's the iPhone 18 followed by the 19... They're always getting better but the degree and importance vary by user per year which is why we upgrade as needed (or as desired). I have a 14 Pro. What I really want to see is 10 bit 4:2:2 HEVC recording in Log for maximum flexibility in post minus the huge ProRes file sizes. That's one reason I didn't upgrade to the 15. ProRes is still a bit unwieldy for a phone short of dealing with an external SSD that one might avoid using HEVC internal recording.
Am I wrong, or is it particularly unusual this year that people are talking more about the next iphone than the upcoming one? Makes you wonder if the 16 is really just a shallow update.
10:15 I'm not so sure about Apple modem, Samsung does make modem for a long time and even they can't reach Quallcom in modem efficiency and power and Apple can't even make a modem yet
Depends on your usage. For me, making photos with my iP15PM is a game changer. Only one photo that contains live and depth (for portrait) is a killer feature. And it defaults to 24 MP (saved) taken with 48 MP. And of course MetaFX upscaling and hardware ray tracing for gaming (WZM) and less screen dimming through better screen technology. And 8 GB RAM for Draw Things app. This lets me create Stable Diffusion images locally and offline on my device. Hopefully some of the next iPhones contains better cooling for even better gaming.
Tech companies are like the masterminds of a grand heist - they've got plans mapped out for the next 50 years. But when it comes to upgrading or adding new features, they move at a snail's pace. Yet, their sales keep skyrocketing every year. And here we are, following their strategy and buying their products like a flock of sheep 🐑 - myself included! 😅
People don't use their phones one handed anymore. They consume youtube and other video contents on the phone so much that small screens are not making any sense financially anymore. So now we have crazy big slabs that we call phones, and that's all. End of story, move on.

I think a huge change will be a totally redesigned battery pack that will be very easy for a technician to replace--the old battery just snaps right off. That may meet the new EU requirement for easily replaceable battery packs.
I’m still debating getting the 16 pro max i have the 13 pro max and im still enjoying it. I dont take many pictures so i dont need better cameras and i dont see the reason to upgrade just for the Dynamic Island or a titanium frame. I need to see some real design changes for me to be excited about a new iPhone. I actually want a new one but they haven’t gave me enough reason to spend my money.
Seems like features that will be released in the next 5 years. Not all for the 17. I’ve done that too many times (waiting an extra year because “that” one would be so much better, only to see a light increment release of nothing.)
Maybe Apple will do the "hole punch" design for 2025 & 2026. Then they will finally be ready to reveal the "zero cutout" display in 2027 for iPhone’s 20th anniversary - and to honor Steve Jobs dream display. That has been my theory for awhile.
Still rocking iPhone XS, probably the best iPhone ever made and the only one to feature 3D Touch. I also have the 13 Pro, but don't like it. Too big and heavy and no 3D touch. I just can't get used to it. It feels like a downgrade apart from the cameras, which unfortunately have the wrong focal lengths compared to the XS. Will probably try the 15 Pro after the 16 comes out to see if I like it in terms of size and weight (as long as the price is right). Other stuff I don't really care for.
iPhone 17 pro will not remove the dynamic island or house in display face id but will have narrower or small pill shaped dynamic island based on rumors. In display face ID is baloney
Wait as long as you can !!! i bought iPhone 14 promax 7 yrs after previously owning iphone6s so iphones hold up quiet well as I can very much say that even to this day my old 6s is usable compared to all other phones that was released during its time and also it had survived many hard falls as well may be with few scratches here and there which can be avoided with proper case or screen protector in place so don't rush into buying new phones and fall for any misleading hype as I know many people who had later regretted their decision after buying the new one without actually needing it !!!
IPhone 16 lineup will be one of the most skippable iPhones since the iPhone xs or 6s. It feels like an s update this year. Also knowing how good the phone will be next year, I'm not sure who would actually pay for the 16 line up. Unless they have an iPhone 12 line up or older. Anyone with any of the iPhone 13, does not need to get any of the 16 and should wait just one more year I like the slim phone being 6.5 inches. It'll feel much better in the hands. But I have a feeling the 18 will come with a bigger size that's probably same or slightly more than the pro max size. I hope one day that all the phones do what Sony does and no one else and that's continuous optical zoom. That would be a game changer. Sony goes from 3.5x to 7.1x but if Apple can do something like 0.5x to 10x or 3x to 10x, that would actually be so great. 0.5x to 10x would mean less camera lens and that's better I think it's also time that phones stop releasing every year and they move on to every 2 years. Hope to see air pods pro 3rd generation next year, with more colour options. Hoping the watch ultra 4 comes in more colour options too

I keep going "ohhhh" thinking this is coming out Fall '24, and then going "oh." when reminding myself these are iPhone Fall '25 rumors. Watch; I'll wait until '25 and Apple will still have the dynamic island pill cutout. Except maybe on the $1500 iPhone Ultra. With 128GB standard. 1TB costs $2000.
Definately holding out for iPhone 17 Pro Max in 2025. And then upgrade in 2027 for their iPhone 20. There will not be an iPhone 19 in 2027 as it’s iPhone’s 20th anniversary . Just like there was no iPhone 9 & they went straight to X/10.
The fact that all these leaks are for the 17 and not the 16 is literal proof on how behind Apple is in tech, and still baffles me on why the Apple sheep are content knowing this.
I upgraded in 2023 to iPhone 15 Pro. The thing is I upgraded from iPhone X, so it's 6 years cycle for me. And I plan to do the same: in 2026 I will get a battery replaced for $100 and then I will upgrade to iPhone 21 in year 2029. No reason to spend my money more often.
iPhone's screens still scratch too easily, from a display/glass technology - that is more important to me. I don't want to have to use screen protectors anymore...
Nobody needs an iPhone 17 Slim with a 6.55“ screen. We DO need an iPhone 17 Thicc with a 5.4“ screen and all-day battery life that we will fit in the pockets of our pants. Not everyone runs around with a handbag, HHNNKWIM.
Is it worth to trade in my 14 Pro to 16 Pro or 16 Pro Max when they come out, or wait longer to upgrade? I have a regular 14 Pro from February 2023 with 88% battery health after a year and a half and don’t like the battery life and buggy experience (factory reset didn’t help)
No pls dont do any such thing !!!! I also have 14pro max bought just a yr ago after 7yrs of using 6s and both those phones in my experience I'll say is a beast when it comes to durability as it survived many hard falls which gave me chills while it fell but after falling there's hardly few scratches here and there without any major damage and not to mention i still use my 14PM caseless !!!! But if your so deep into buying new stuff and have money for it then I'll still say wait at least another yr as this new 16 has no redesign and the one thing i slightly don't like is that dynamic island despite its use case its quite disturbing while watching content and same is applicable to the new upcoming 16 as well so its wiser to wait !!!
@@satxrnhimself I'll wait for at least 2 yrs as my phone is ageing quite well that I don't mind keeping it as long as it lasts and doesn't get any major issues, I might swap the battery for 60-70 bucks in the Apple store once it's degraded to less than 80% as now mine is about 88% after like 18months of use and still last for almost a day with moderate use .I'll say 14PM is a decent upgrade by apple during the time of launch as features like dynamic island , 48mp camera and always on display was a major change that's been brought on to it got carried on to upcoming iphones as well with very little changes where I guess you won't be missing much if you decide to stick with 14PM .
Don't know why no one thinks this design looks like the Pixel and that Apple won't want to share identity. If you ask me, they'll keep the "stove top" camera design for the 16 line
The “new” design makes no sense from a camera standpoint. Apple wants every camera to shoot immersive video. You can’t do that if the cameras are aligned to the short side of the sensors. If Apple did go to a bar design. It would have to be a vertical one, like the Samsung so that the cameras would be side by side on the long sensor side, as they are now.
