Would be fucking hilarious if everyone made a video how they fix the Wifi on their Iphone 4s and send it to Apple spamming their mail with these videos showing how "well" their products work
Hahahaha brooo, Love the background music, I don't know if it was intentional but it went well with the build to your showing that the wifi works! Massive Climax!!!
This genuinely works, thanks for all the info! Just make sure that whilst heating your phone if you see the screen at the top going black that is condensation. Just stop and wait until the black stuff retreats then resume heating until the warning sign goes away. I know this sounds stupid but it actually works
Unfortunately it worked temporarily for me. Works for like a week then the WiFi stops again. Suppose it's the only option though otherwise you don't have WiFi
After being mad for 3 months for not having wifi, I purchased a antenna and opened my phone, took the motherbord out etc.. Nothing worked. I do the hairdryer trick and it works! THANKS
totally worked. on my 5s. very happy. i am waiting for the 8 and though i would have to go ahead any buy the 7. now i can wait until the 8 is released. thanks
Thank you soooooo much. It is great way, Why those apple genius guys do not come to learn and tell me instead of telling me to pay $200 to replace it. My iphone works now!!!! Thank you again.
I, too, have this issue. I would be curious to know how many people who have this issue have phones that are either free upgrades or discounted upgrades as mine is. It would also be interesting to see who the providers are and see if they are the same (I have Verizon, for example).
it works! The only "problem" was that when I turned it off the screen was black on the top. We put it in the refrigerator for 10 minutes and then took it out and turned it on. It was fully working and the black on the screen wasn't there anymore. But, the WiFi logo doesn't show on the top for me anymore so I turned of my data just in case and it worked perfectly!
Thankyou for your helpful video , I did it and it worked! But... Sadly 2 or 3 days later the problem came back again , do you have any permanent solutions ?!?!
I've a 4s having same issue & whatever causes this also drains battery, also seems to cause phone to run warm. Yesterday read multiple 'how to fix sites'; from resetting network settings, hard shutdowns, (which neither worked), blower/freezer and long complicated step-by-step of taking phone apart fixing the WiFi antenna. Well when arriving home the temp of phone seemed warmer than usual, I walked past the frig & simply put my 4s on one of the shelves (NO hairdryer or freezer, just frig). Few hours later got 4s out of frig & I'll be -----, the WiFi was working. It's now the next day, still WiFi and battery life is 98%. I felt impelled enough to create a g-acct in order to share. It's my story for what's it's worth!
Hey, if this method didn't work go restore your iphone. Because the greyed wifi might be an error from the software if you tried to jailbreak it or update it and it failed to do it "Remember restoring might a solution just for the software"
+Dražen Marcikić Last year I gave a Turk 70 euros to fix cell phone and probably made the same gift ... is 1 month and again broke down ... now I can fix it when it breaks ... and it's free
Hi, just thought I would share my experience. (FIXED) Got a 4S second hand, and wifi was greyed out. The Apple support suggestions did nothing (no surprises) but I wasn't prepared to heat/freeze it just yet. I did the reset/restore by holding on/off and home on startup then releasing on/off when you see the apple logo. Plugged it into my computer and did the restore (about 30mins) then iTunes asked if I wanted to update it to 8.something so I did the software update. It still did not work, so I turned Aeroplane mode ON, then did the "Reset Network Settings". When it came back on, the wifi was turned on, and it brought up all local wifi networks. I am not sure what made it work, but now that it does I am happy! I have since turned it on and off, and done another reset of the network settings just to test it, and it is still working.
As Lewis Black is found of ranting… “Well, son of a bitch!” It actually worked. I couldn’t believe it, but it did. It’s now New Year’s Eve, and tomorrow is 2023. But my old iPhone 4s is still kicking. Well, son of a bitch! Just a little extra info, if I may. Assuming anyone is reading this, eight years after the video was originally posted. I was concerned with overheating the screen, so I flipped the phone over as it heated. First one side, then the other, but always at the same spot. It took over 10 minutes doing it this way, but I think it’s a safer procedure. After several minutes at 170°F, (using a laser temperature sensor) the heat warning popped up. I was absolutely not willing to place my phone in a refrigerator or freezer. That’s just crazy! it’s bad enough to heat the thing up, and there is no rush to cool it back down. So I set my phone in front of a fan. 10 minutes later, it was cool. The fact that the case is solid aluminum, which disperses heat well, surely helped it cool off quickly. But Wi-Fi still wasn’t working. Oh right, turn it off and back on. 🤦♂️ BINGO! Success!
It only bloody works! Nice one! Did have a bit of a scare with the screen going black like I'd melted the pixels before I put it in the fridge though...
InaRosdal Yeah it was fine. ...the fix doesn't last forever, I have to re-do mine once every couple of months. But every time I've cooked the screen and every time it's been fine. (So far anyway...!)
