In todays video we're replacing a melted battery FPC connector on an iPhone 6s+

Smashing job john, ill give you 11 out of 10 lol. I'm no lover of ledless solder, i'm staying with 60/40 led multicore. I have a reel that i was given that came from the general electric company donkeys years ago. So r.s semiconductors know where they can stick there crap lol :-D Some solders have a sweet smell when melting, odd that.

Thanks Harv 👍 Yea leadless is a Pain.. I only use leaded too. I've stocked up on it over the past couple of years, so have around 11x reels of various diameters in sealed cases, just in case that day arrives when it's no longer available :D John

Hi john it’s good to see someone with the same accent as me doing phone repairs, great video, I looked up this problem as I have it with my iPhone 6s, not something I have the skills or tools to do but would love to learn this, wondering if you are local to me and maybe you could have a look at mine possibly?

Hi Steve. Originally an L1 scouser here mate 🙂 I've lost my accent a bit now though I think. Regarding repairs.. unfortunately I'm not able to take on external jobs. I do some repairs & micro-rework stuff but just for family & as a hobby when I'm able to do it. Due to disability it takes me a while to get around to this stuff. I'd love to be able to offer a repair type service but it just wouldn't work unfortunately. Cheers mate John

You can't really fix a connector buddy. You have to replace it if it's failed or broken.

Hi if one of the outter battery connector is missing (not the 3 in the middle )will it still power on ?

The very outer areas of the battery connector block are clips that hold the connector in place, I believe these are grounded also. However the phone should still operate ok if the connector is secure and undamaged.
