I have an extra cable connection with the new lcd screen. It appears the same connection that comes off the back of the lcd screen is the same as the one that connects the proximity camera. The lcd screen I bought for a 6s plus is 821-2156-a, the same but the new one has a mek 1648 under the part number. I'm sure its the wrong one but how can make sure its the right one if even the part numbers match?

I got that same tool kit with my replacement screen and loved the way they looked. I was so disappointed on how fragile they were. Are they made of cheap aluminum or something!?! I had to revert to my cheap tool kit which did the job

Around 5:30 you remove the home button flex cable from a connector. My replacement screen does not have that same connector, just a bare plastic area. Do you know what it's for?

Thanks for this video. I was able to replace my screen, everything seems to be working except that about quarter to half inch of my screen in the bottom is not responding to touch. I was wondering if I did something wrong or the screen I bought is defective? thanks

yopani likely a defective screen. But reopen it and maybe clear where the flex cables plug in with some air like a can of air or compressor.

question!. do you think it is possible to fix the some kinda bruise on the display and certain like leaking back light on the of the screen? and the bottom left side shadow look spot. that issue is very common now most of 6s/6s+ have it. ... if it is possible to fix it thanks for the video.

Most likely , you wont be able to fix it . That is the iphone screen leaking ink because of an internal crack .

Yes you can fix this, thats just a cracked LCD.

I haven't had the opportunity to work on the S's yet because of the price of parts - but doesn't cracking it open break the waterproof seal on the phone? Or would it still be intact even without all the adhesive?

+xXiAmThePro08Xx It's not advertised that way, no but it does have a black sealant all the way around the screen plus silicone seals around all the ports and buttons on the inside making it pretty water "resistant". That's why I asked for confirmation.

So it appears you now have to replace the entire touch screen glass digitizer and & LCD Display now? It seems previous models you could replace the glass only? Am I understanding that correctly? If that's the case, what all should be purchased?

+Dan Davis For pretty much anything iPhone 5 and up you needed to do the whole LCD and digitizer glass. It can be done, glass only here, but it isnt easy

+Morjesta! If the touch ID has stopped working it means the cable was pulled too hard and tore, some times you can see the tear, other times you can't but it's still damaged.

Morjesta! most likely they also replaced your homebutton which disables touch id.

When I try to remove the screws from the home button, they won't come out. It's gotten to the point where one of the screws is slightly stripped. Is there any way I can solve this problem so that I can unscrew them? Please help!!! Thank you!!!

Yes I used the original button. I also tried an new button. I'm sure it wasn't OEM. No luck. Still unable to activate touch ID.

You're supposed to disconnect the battery AS FIRST STEP, before removing rest of the flex cables. Atleast so i've heard. But since you didn't, you get the error message. Do a restore via iTunes. Then it should work again, provided you didn't damage the home button flex cable.

Yes, it almost seems like the LCD, digi, and force touch are soldered onto one flex. But we still are not sure.

You can hold the power button and the home button together for ten seconds and it should power off

Cool, how many minutes should the heat be (at 75.5℃) applied when you are separating the whole LCD screen (with the glass) off the iPhone 6s Plus? The whole LCD screen with the glass is very tough to lift up from the iPhone body with the suction cup. Thank you. God bless you.
