Unbelievable, the iPhone 7/7 plus wont be getting iOS 16!!! Totally unfair because they could definitely run it. But I guess this makes it officially not worth buying anymore :(( maybe I’ll make a seperate video on this..
Yeah that was a stupid decision on their part because there are iPads with the same chip as the 6s (A9) that will be getting iOS 16. So technically even the 6s could’ve ran it. Definitely didn’t expect them to drop the 7 though…all in all though the 7 is still worth buying.
It's just Apple making people think that they need the newest iphone. Truth is most of the older iPhones can still work. It's just more resources used when it's not needed.
Watching on my iphone 7. Bought it way back in december 2020 and still works so fine. Battery health is now at 83% for this year 2022. Planning on getting a new phone, but still thinking why do i need to upgrade when my iphone still works. That's why i got here on your youtube.
i recently updated from an android to an iphone, i was on a budget so i got an iphone 7. so far i can say its AMAZING the smoothness and the look is very aesthetically pleasing. the only thing is the battery as a 24/7 phone user its kinda bad also the fact that we didnt get ios 16 is kinda dissapointing..but its okay all i can say its very good especially after ive been using android all of my life
I recently updated to the iPhone XR since my iPhone 7 broke. I had it for 2 1/2 years and it was honestly a great phone and still remarkably fast, even after 2+ years of usage 😅
Sorry if some shots are a bit dark, I’ve been having some pretty bad weather atm but it looks like it’s clearing up. Anyways, anyone here own an iPhone 7 or are thinking of buying one?
It's ok, but Honestly, I don't have an iPhone 7 as of right now, but instead, I had the 13 pro max to film those youtube videos and the quality of the video shot on my 13 pro max is better imo
Yours are some of the best reviews on older iPhones. You really do know your phones well and give very good advice. Im planning to buy this as a secondary phone. The ‘form-factor’ and especially the aluminium back is legendary on the iPhone 7.
Planning to get a S23 later this year but I've been using the 7 for a while and it's surprisingly good for its age. Shame about the battery though, even for '16 it really seems small AF.
Just got one for $60. It was sold on ebay as inoperable "for parts" because of a hardware issue that makes it unable to activate. I figured out how to activate the phone, by using another iPhone to activate it. I'm excited to give it a try it's 256gb and has 100% battery health. Right now I'm syncing my entire music collection to it via iTunes. My plan is to use it as an mp3 player and to download some non-graphically intensive games. And to have a backup device. This was really a steal 60 dollars for an iPhone that's still supported. I won!
@@6ixXxnonymous you need to have another iPhone that is on iOS 15 or later I think. You can activate it through the other iPhone. Only thing is, if it has that hardware issue you won’t be able to use it as a handset.
Watching this on my iPhone 7 :) I’ve intentionally submerged it many many times (never smashed the screen) and it works amazingly, Im finally upgrading to iPhone 14 pro in the next week. I hope this next phone will live up to everything this phone has given me. 6 years of use.
I'm 50 making my living fixing home appliances .Sure I will never pay over $300 for any phone but for $330 in 2021 I purchased 3 brand-new Iphone 7 $110 each (old unsold stock from Verizon) This phone serves its purpose for me just perfectly fine (I'm keeping other 2 unboxed as replacement) . Good camera to make work pictures, touchless Apple wallet is very useful ,water proof ,and not too big ! And I don't need anything else !
I don’t care for the new iPhones. Have the 7 since it came out and still works fine. Sucks it doesn’t get iOS 16 but that doesn’t bother me. I can buy the newest iPhone but my priority is, if it still works than I’m good with it. But of course in the future I will probably be forced to upgrade lol.
Bought mine without working home button 32 gig in mint condition for 70 bucks + 15 extra bucks for battery i bought and replaced myself all original pretty handles 2022 no lag it’s not gaming phone but handle all stuff fb tube messenger cameras snaps pretty good images and video I’m glad to own it!
The 7 is still a decent phone in 2023. I'm on a 2nd Gen SE but I still have a iPhone 7 and it's still had 9 security updates in the last year bumping it up to 15.7.9. My 7th gen iPad is running the same a10 fusion chip on the current iPad OS 17.0.3 and it is still snappy.
Would be interesting to see how the iPhone 7 would perform on iOS 17 or the 2023 version if it gets it. Would you think it would slow down a lot more or still maintain its performance.
@@3.andi.3 they are a10 devices with ios 16 i think even some a9 and the 7 plus has 3gb ram just as the iphone x. You defently ain't now specs off apple.
I think it will be worth it until the iOS 18 or 19 because the phone will be stuck on 15 when the other iPhones or on 18 or 19 so I will buy it (in my opinon)
No body cares about hi refresh oled screens except technofiles As to the battery, here in the US you can get a 128gb for around 150.00 if you add a new battery after you get it and a GinFoxi battery case you can carry three full charges, one phone, two case. The case does double the thickness but I am not a fan of paper thin phones anyway. Also, the case adds wireless charging to the kit, so added bonus, and the case works with the 6-7-8-2020se and 2022se. Should you decide to upgrade down the road. I have them on my 7-8 and 2020se and I use them to stream RU-vid videos all day at work and am yet to use all of the case before the end of the day.
I probably wouldn’t want to get a new phone if it didn’t crack so baldy and mess up, my storage space, and my battery. Also i like to play roblox on graphics so maybe getting a upgrade would be better.😭 And not being able to get the updates kinda makes me a lil bored with it. It is very true that it dies extremely fast for “heavy” users
I don’t know if anyone else has this problem but with my iPhone 7, the back camera is just shaking and there’s like a sound to it and the pictures look awful. The battery on my phone is degraded down to 75 and it also can’t run multiple apps without extreme lag. So in my opinion it just isn’t worth buying.
Apps and everything will still work even though it won’t get iOS 16 they’ll still give it security updates for iOS 15. Lots of apps still support even iOS 12 from 2018. so it’s still worth buying. Just maybe not for 200
@@3.andi.3 that sucks man. I got mine on eBay a while back and all it needed was a $15 battery replacement. I got a 2300mah battery for it. Lasts all day.
i was washing my iphone when i was showering and it holds very well,i was a bit scared first time but nothing happened so don't worry about water getting on your phone
while we look at these things with rose tinted glasses, we must realize that these phones have run their course. the iphone 7 was great when it was released and was great for 4 years after that. but in 2022, it's almost insufferable to use without getting the battery replaced. i get barely 3 hours of SOT daily and it sucks. apps struggle to open. some webpages crash safari. downloading apps is miserable. and my phone doesn't even get 2 bars of network when im at home and always puts me in edge when my other android phone gets full bars and work fine. the only reason im still using this is because it's the only "cosmetically fine" phone i have, as my android phone is broken at the bottom. battery replacement prices for iphone 7 in my country are outrageous and the repairmen have the potential to ruin the phone completely. i'd probably get a refurbished og google pixel in a year but until then, im stuck with this nugget. i suggest anyone considering this phone to consider something else because for the same price, you will most likely find a better and more recent phone.
Where in Australia are you ?? I am in Sydney and I also have an iPhone 7 with 100 percent battery health which I got in late 2020 ….. still runs buttery smooth as the day I got it …..I just wonder how long can it still last under current version which I have is iOS 15.1 …..
By this time most will have heard that the iPhone 7/+ is being dropped from the ios16 support list even tho there are several iPads that are less powerful or have basically all the same hardware in them that are getting ios16. I’m not sure why Apple is ending support for the 7s but they are alienating a lot of customers in this act. I for one will continue to use my 7/+ until it is unusable as a device. Ie apps for it are no longer updated on the App Store.or it is so outdated that it takes for ever to add 1+1. With all that. The iPhone 7 is still a better phone with iOS 15.5 than any android 12, phone. And iOS 15.5 imho will he better than any android phone in three years. There are millions of android phones out there still running android 8 or 9 and these phones were or will be released in 2022. The 7/+ may not be slated for any more os updates ( which still just floors and disappoints me) but it will most likely get a few security updates. And even if not it will still be better than android in three years, and will still be usable as a home phone, remote, back scratcher etc. I stream podcasts most of the day while I work, I’ll be assigning this task to my sevens now. More than capable of doing it for decades to come.
I like the 7 it's thin and light, good for one handed use. My last iphone and the only iPhone's I've ever owned is a 7 and a 4s. The 4s looks very durable and well made. The 7 looks like plastic. I like the built quality of the 4s better. I only just got the 7 so time will tell if it out last the 4s or vice versa.
@@TechSpree1 cool! I also film them with the 13 pro max ever since I bought it for Christmas and it never disappoints me when it comes to video quality!
Rip iPhone 7/7 plus and iPhone 6s/6s plus and SE. Crazy because a9 iPad 5th Gen still support iPadOS 16 but the iPhone 7 with the a10 can’t support iOS 16. To me this seems like planned obsolescence but I guess they had a good amount of time of support. Very disappointing from apple 😔
The thing that’s most bothering tho is the fact that iPhone 7/7 plus and probably even the 6s/6s plus and SE may have been capable enough to handle iOS 16 but apple removed them entirely. I thought the 7 would receive iOS 16 at least or 17 even but boy was I wrong. Long love the 6s,SE and 7.
I know, it’s such a shame!! The 7 could more than handle it, as well as many future updates. Came as a huge surprise to me. Ah well, 6 years is still a pretty darn long time for a phone to get updated for. RIP
I have an iPhone 7 that I got new like five years ago? Still runs great I think? I am running iOS 13.3 on it and there are some apps that I can’t use or access now. Should I upgrade to iOS 15.5? Does 15.5 run well on an iPhone 7?
@@tthecatts thank you! Vimeo will run on 14.0. I also have an iPad 6th generation. Do you happen to know which iOS will run best on an iPad sixth generation? How can I find iOS 14.0?
I want to get it but when you buy them used on amazon the battery is usually no more then 90, it would still be a good upgrade from a super beat up android but what do you think
I’d go with the 7. The 7 is still due for probably 3 years of os and security updates. Some android phones only ever get anything other than what comes on it, and many of those are coming with old versions of android.
iOS16+++ is not a selling point. Apple isn’t innovative enough to keep up with their software these days and you’re actually better off staying as far from new updates and their unnecessary/unwanted features as well as hidden changes. Maybe new Apple products will be worth it when they make some actual amazing improvements while being transparent with their customers.
To what I have heard the seven probably won’t get iOS 16 but I’m hoping we will at least get some security updates for a bit I’m currently an iPhone 12 user but I also love my iPhone 7

Mines just broke after 3 years, just as the contract ended! I only used it for calls/texts/YT & FB and I’m not paying £800 for the new iPhone 13,wth! I wouldn’t bother with any iPhone, It’s nothing special especially as the size is very small?!
I bought a used iPhone 7 for £40! It’s perfect shape there’s like only one crack on the screen! I don’t care about iOS 16, I have the newest iPad Pro which I use more often but honestly always good to have that iPhone 7 on hand!
Iphone 7 just got ios 15,7.1 security update and the 2015 iphone 6s got the same update. So this suggests that the 7 will keep on getting security updates for quite a while.
I'm in a dilemma, should I get this or the pixel 2xl both of them aren't getting updates anymore but I just want a fast phone that I can watch yt on and game with, and also have good ram management
@@TechSpree1 not true. i have a snapdragon 835 phone, the oneplus 5, and it performs miles better than my iphone 7. it's better in almost every way and remember that when the pixel 2 released, it was the best camera in the market until iphone 11.
I’m using the little iPhone 7 right now because my S20 ultra the touchscreen is glitching out I was going to get it fixed because the s20 ultra is a bad ass phone but they are charging me 300 to fix it with their money I’m better off getting something else. This iPhone 7 is awesome the one camera is great and the small size just feels good compared to a big ass phones like the Samsung ultras
I mise my iPhone 7 it was a good phone, My experience with this phone is good but I changed it to Galaxy Sfe21, the phone was good back then, but right now i don't recommend it. It many things first thing the heting and the battery and slow for multi-tasking i recommend getting an iPhone x by that .
I hated wired ear phones. Even as a child I used to put something down and forget that my wire was connected so I would get up to do some thing and then suddenly I would hear or feel my electronic hit the floor. But with wireless earbuds, I can happily get up and down and walk around and not worry about my phone flying off the table. People who complain about wired headsets need to get a life. We’re not in the 1980s or 90s. I mean I can understand 50 year old people complaining or even 40 year olds, but anybody younger than that needs a life. There’s much more important things to complain about.
