I think it’s awesome that the iPhone 8 gets so much fun and so many features out of iOS 16 when you take in to consideration that it’s the oldest device supported by the software. R.I.P. my iPhone 7 Plus which didn’t make it this year but I’m happy for the iPhone 8/8 Plus owners. Love these videos 👍🏼
I noticed a cool feature that I’ve yet to see shown, but when listening to music on the lockscreen via apple music, tapping the album cover of the song changes your wallpaper to an animated cover and enlarges the album cover for a full screen display turning your lockscreen into an aesthetic media player.
I was an Android girl, but my honey got me an iPad for my big drone. I didn’t want to like it, but now we’re an all Apple family! (Except the free chromecast lol)
People will say apple wants you to always buy more and more of their newest tech, but the software support begs to differ. Apple makes products that last
I’m actually surprised on how well iOS 16 is running on the iPhone 8 considering the fact that it’s one of the oldest iPhones out there. Other than battery life, iPhone 8 is a good phone for iOS 16.
I want to test beta version on my iphone 8 which is my main phone. Should I test it? Like battery life is important to me that's why I do not know if I should upgrade or not
Nice review, I downloaded the public beta and was waiting for some reviews. Glad to know that only a few features were denied on the 8 plus. And after your review I think I’ll wait for the final version, I was expecting some stuttering here and there but battery life is important to me right now, and on mine is very decent, so I’ll wait a few more weeks until September.
I have iphone 8 plus since 2018, still loving it, works like a charm, and i can’t believe it’s the last model with the home button, idk how i’ll survive when i upgrade my phone when i buy new ones in the future
Wow-Considering how old this phone is I am surprised how well iOS 16 runs, especially since this is only a beta!!Thanks Brandon for your awesome video’s!!-I really appreciate you and all the time and commitment you put in these videos-Keep it up!!.
@@mattybraps7620 yeah but even then that’s fairly old and this is the oldest supported device on the first beta of this software so this is impressive-Also even some newer models are facing more problems then this one.
Dear Brandon I am running 15.5 on my iPhone X. Since IOS 16 is under beta stage which may have bugs thereby affecting device performance. Will upgrade to iOS 16 when it will be available to public in September. I think Apple should give some missing features like dictation feature & some others which are otherwise not available to IPhone 8 & X. Very nice video.
@Telephone Backgrounds On a Clear Day I agree but to be fair iPhone 8 and below were already quite limited on iOS 15 in terms of features. So I still think apple could’ve limited the features on the 7 and still supported it with 16 even if it misses those nureal engine features. Especially since apple supports a9 and a10 iPads still. And those who wanted to benefit from nureal engine features could’ve simply upgraded. But now the 7 meets an early end when it probs could’ve gone 1-2 more years at most.
@@michaelm8188 iOS olny introcude under screen feature, no display/feature update we see, so they could brought the 7, but with iOS16 apple introduced lock screen, and apple always wanted that screen/display feature the same on every device, so yeah thats the only reason
Nice! One more reason to keep using my 8 plus for one year more. By far the best and most applicable iPone to date. A tech dinosaur still going strong.
Thank you Brandon for the vid, such a shame my iPhone 7 is no more supported, as I am sure it can do the same thing as the iPhone 8. Anyway, time to move forward to a newer Apple phone ;) Such a good moment to watch your vids
Thank you for this video. I was concerned about how my old 8 would work seeing as it has had some problems with iOS 15, but most of these fears were alleviated when I saw how well it was working on this beta. Hopefully it’s not too bad for my tired old phone to upgrade to iOS 16. And all the features I wanted and would use are supported, so no problems there. Battery won’t be a problem cause I always have a power bank with me.
I plan on holding my 8 plus for as long as I can. We’ll see about iOS 17. Hope 17 will also support 8 plus. Right now, apps only require iOS 14. So we still will get another two years on the 8 plus and maybe three years if 17 supports
I had to switch from an iPhone XS to an iPhone 8, and boy do I miss live caption, I used it A LOT and when I saw it wasn't available on the 8 I was PISSED
Ima be honest.. If I can’t use half of these iOS 16 features.. then I might as well not update it. They’re small things but that’s the reason why. These are small aspects that I feel won’t make the phone suffer. The iPhone 8 could totally take it on. I also would not risk the phone getting slower or anything. I am although, going to update my iPhone SE but it’s small compared to my 8Plus and because I bought my 8plus after the SE just for the sake of it, I’ve opened my desires to bigger and higher-res screens. I’ve adjusted to the Plus model. Might save for a 14 or a 15 in the future. I can probably keep this phone for another year then quickly update to the iPhone 15. One more thing, when I updated it to iOS 15…. I’ve missed out on some design features AND I’ve missed out on the noise cancellation when FaceTiming. So I can turn background noise off, I can only do it on my SE. so sad :(
I’m watching this on my iPhone 7 and it’s sad to see that I won’t be able to update my phone to iOS 16, but this 7 has a terrible battery and I wanna upgrade soon.
As for features, many of the more advanced features are only for the A12 Bionic or later, a.k.a, the iPhone XS or later. Some features like Face ID in landscape mode are only in the iPhone 12s and 13s. The 12s and 13s get all the features, the XS, XR, and the 11s get almost all features, and the 8 and 8 Plus still get most of the important features, the ones that people will remember from the keynote.
My iPhone SE 2nd Gen is running the iOS 16 Public Beta and its good. I've had a few glitches on the lock screen that's about it. But iOS 16 Beta is definitely power hungery
iPhone 8 on 16PB1 is awesome. Everything that’s suppose to work does and without many bugs. I haven’t found any bugs that stop you from completing tasks. That being said, battery life, as expected, is atrocious. Don’t expect all day battery life right now. If you need strong battery performance, stay on iOS 15. Otherwise, upgrading is warranted.
After being an android user ever since, i've decided to try iphone last year which happened to be iphone 8 (its the only one i can afford), and i must say iphones are very optimized and everything is just buttery smooth. Tho, i dont have the freedom to install apps unlike android, im still satisfied with it.
Love the vid! For the life of me I can’t get the wallpaper change menu to work when pulling down like you did and then press and hold. What am I doing wrong???!!!🎃
I have an iPhone 12 Pro and when I tried the copy subject feature I noticed it only allowed me to do it from the camera roll only if I touch the photo where all you see is the photo. It wouldn’t let me do it when you can see the roll of photos on the bottom and the options on top. Maybe the iPhone 8 doesn’t have the feature at all because it’s an older phone. But just in case others have problems, there you go.
So I’m glad there’s a lot of features in iOS 16 that I can get in my iPhone 8. I don’t have the beta anymore on my iPhone 8 am I used to be one of the people that had the public beta on my iPhone. But the last time I did Beta was for I was 15 and I didn’t know that it was just part of the beta because I’ve never had any buggy issues like some people do with the beta. And I was 15 beta public beta I had an issue with this thing popped up every few minutes every few minutes or every hour I can’t remember it will pop up and I didn’t know until I already got it fixed the people are saying that in the beta it would pop up and act like your charger was not compatible and it always did every few minutes or every hour I can’t remember. To the point I had to re-store my iPhone eat and get rid of iOS 15 beta. As much as I really want I’ll at 16 I can wait. I still have the beta on my iPad Pro 9.7 inch and I do have iOS 16 on it although I was hoping to find somebody who had the same iPad whether it’s the iPad Pro 9.7 or an iPad Pro 10 I was hoping to find someone who did I could tell me what features from iOS 16 they did get. Because I need to play around with them more because so far I haven’t noticed anything new I’m not gonna get a whole lot of three features no not my iPad Pro 9.7. The end of this year became next year I’m gonna have to look at a better iPad Pro I like those because they compare those to like a computer we can do pretty much would a MacBook do but in an iPad and that’s why I have it because I do not have a MacBook. But yeah I’m gonna have to get that I had pro because I don’t even know why iOS 16 is allowed to be used on my iPad Pro because I’m not seeing anything different
Very true , my 12 64, even with 200gb iCloud, which according to 3utools was full, only had 2gb left 😂, altrough in setting had 35gb free, rán quite slow And bigger capacities also have better read write speed, compare 13 Pro From 128 to 1tb 😂
@@Callagwhan true, bigger drive offers better performance, not sure how, maybe more chips together cuz that’s why M2 256GB is so slow cuz it uses single chip instead of two.
Hi 🤍 Well I bought iPhone 13 a month ago , it drains so fast I did a lot of things like disabling app refresh , the brightness and .. but it reaches from 90 to 20 in 4 or 5 hours when I’m using LTE but when I’m using wi-fi it’s last longer . What can I do ? Can you please tell me I’m really worry🥲
check signal strength. it drains alot if u have a weak signal. also you can check if an app is draining via the battery section. if everything is ok try updating or resetting.
Hi there, the ios 16 public beta, I have noticed that when yu have earBuds in, then Siri does in fact work as to not having headphones, then siri is not so reliable.
