Very nice explanation with big camera. I wish the screws were really this big :) They are very small and always run away. They don't want to enter when reassembling.
This one is now one of my favourite videos ever 😂 really tho, well explained, it only took me a couple of hours doing this for the first time and everything’s working
I ruptured the cameras and speaker's cable on reassembly and also ordered the wrong part. But the video is spot on. I will try again as I have not done this kind of work for a while and my eyesight is way worse than the last time I attempted something like this. Thank you for the video. Looks like the Iphone8 and the 8 second edition are not exactly the same.
Thank you so much for this. Your vid is perfect, no waffle, just the info needed and the footage is clear and concise. My first time replacing a screen and it worked exactly as described which is a rare thing for a RU-vid tutorial and I had it done in under an hour. Two questions, what is the True Tone thing and is it ok to very lightly magnetise my screwdrivers to hold screws? It looks like yours is so I’m guessing it’s ok? Thanks again.
thank you i need my phone done and i didnt have the money to go in and get it fixed i had a old screen that works and now my phone is fixed everythig works thank you
Thanks for the video buddy. I started my own repair mobile business not too long ago. Not often I will change and work with old iPhones, but its good to know in the beginning I guess. I just took of the speaker sensor and finger print without a problem, hopefully not too difficult to put it back on a new screen.
this is the 2nd time I've used this vid (and worked both times!) - my partner has broken her screen twice in a year - while I haven't had the same kit this is a very clear step-by-step!! thanks! the one thing with this refit is where the long screws go, its never clear in the instructions but as iDoctor says, juts make sure you keep them in the right order as you take them out! cheers!
Warning: You NEED to unplug the battery BEFORE unplugging the screen cables You could fry the backlight (not sure if on the screen itself or the circuitry on the logic board, but it's not good)
From the get go, guides like this should start with a warning!! Make sure you record where each screw comes from, and where they should return to! The screws vary in length, and if you put a long screw into a short hole, it will go down too far and damage the circuit board immediately below. Apple does this to hamper phone repairs. @2:38 There's a mention of the screen having 'true tone data' eg an id to link it to the rest of the device. Fortunately, the screen will still work without this. The same isn't true for the home button which is unique to each phone.
Hey i have some questions pls. I hve a habit of cleaning my phone with wet tissue offen, can that cause any damage to phone if water goes inside through the pots? My audio failed the output test at genius bar recently as well. Do they have to change the display? Can’t they just fix the audio ports and charging port as having issues with both.
@@iDoctorUK I have an apple iPhone 8 and the screen is frozen and won't respond and did the usual reset by pressing the volume up and down and power buttons and screen is still frozen and would it be possible that the screen needs replacing.
Hi, After replacing the screen, the bottom of the screen gets hot and I am unable to press the home button of my iphone 8. I checked with the technician that changed my screen and they insist that they have nothing to do with it
new battery and new screen work but, 'unable to activate touch ID on this phone' ;( I replaced a cracked white screen with a new black screen. It looks nice with the white button, but the button isn't being recognized. Does this make a difference?
This vid is a little old but hopefully someone can help… I replaced the screen but the home button doesn’t work. I’ve tried troubleshooting, even restored which made things worse. I’d appreciate any help.
Thanks for the tutorial. I would like to check something on this replacement. I have one faulty iPhone 8 but no issue to the screen. Have another iPhone8 but the screen is faulty. Can I straight away swap the front panel screen from one to another without interchanging any parts on them to the working phone. If yes, will anyone be able to tell me which parts I need to move from the faulty screen to the working one. For eg: Home button. Thanks in advance
