Literally today, I fell off of a boat in my pond and I had my iPhone 8 Plus in my pocket. It spent less than 6 seconds under the water, I take it out and the screen and everything is working fine. I get a text and the ringing is much dampened than it normally is. I had to leave it in rice for 3 hours to get the speakers back. Idk, even with the “water resistance” it spent such a short amount of time underwater and it still messed some of the functionality up. There is no way I’m bringing this thing back anywhere near water after that scare

Tyeman217_ same but yes the speakers get messed up when water gets into them this is seen in multiple phones just use some sort of sound next time when you get that issue there’s a shortcut that makes a sound so that water gets out of the speakers :)

@@josephikrakowski334 no, you're wrong. Water proof and water resistant are different. And in realistic situations, if you put that phone in sea water, it will most likely corrode over time and break. Again, if it was water proof, this would not happen. It is only water RESISTANT.

Bluemeannie No, nothing is actually waterproof. Water resistant is the word people are looking for. Water proof means that you can put it in the deepest part of the ocean, and water wont get in it, (which is just impossible for that small of a phone)
