Two Apple experts explain what to do when your iPhone says No Service. Having no service on your iPhone is incredibly frustrating because you can’t make phone calls or send texts.

First, look for iOS and carrier settings updates. Both can help improve your iPhone’s ability to connect to your wireless carrier’s network.
Second, check your iPhone’s Cellular settings and make sure Cellular Data and Voice Roaming are turned on.
Third, eject your SIM card and reinsert it. This will give your iPhone a second chance to reconnect to your carrier’s network. Note that your iPhone says No Service as soon as you pop the SIM card out, but it should reconnect shortly after.

Fourth, reset your iPhone’s network settings. This has the potential to fix a hidden software issue. If the reset doesn’t work, perform a DFU restore, which erases and reloads all of the code on your iPhone

Perfect! It worked! My phone kept on kicking to 1x mode and I couldn’t figure out why. It’s never done that before. I followed your instructions up to the reset network settings part. It worked! Resetting my network solved the issue. Thank you very much!!

Sorry to those still searching for a solution. I tried every single step and finally taking out the SIM and putting it back in our iPhone 8+ seemed to do the trick. Be persistent and hang in there!! Btw we have Verizon, seems to be a common issue with iPhones on their service.

Thank you, I did every step you guys mentioned and now my phone has service! I think it may have been the network settings being reset. But also I'm pretty sure when i dropped my iphone 7 (and it cracked), that was when the no service issues occured. Crossing my fingers/ hoping it doesnt reoccur

Mine ended up being a carrier issue - I just had to go do a minor update on their website. I was getting ready to visit Apple and let them send my phone in for repair! I'm so glad it wasn't that. Thank you for directing me to an easy fix.

Lotus Bee No I factory reset my phone in an attempt to make it work and nothing did. Now I can’t even use the phone over wifi. I been meaning to go to the Apple store just haven’t had a chance.

thanks so much. i find out what can usually happen sometimes is that if u have dropped ur phone the sim card moved a bit in its carrier which cause the no service.

How can i get all those settings>carrier options if it's not detecting my sim card in the first place? Note: It's detecting other SIM cards except for the desired one EDIT: I live in an urban area. Also, that 'defective' SIM works in other phones

I have 5s and have tried different carriers, T-Mobile and tracfone. Both times signal is one bar, my phone won’t ring when someone calls, won’t show missed calls, and intermittently says no service. I feel like it’s a problem with this model of phone. I’ve tried all these options in the video but it didn’t help or matter😒

My phone said the same thing . I reset my whole phone , after a few hours it came back up but u wouldn’t recommend doing this because u will not be able to activate your phone again. I recommend taking it to store of ur carrier.

Chris Carra I got a new SIM card and it’s still fucking up lol Verizon said I could get turn my iPhone X in through warranty if the SIM card didn’t fix it. And it’s doing the same shit all of again so guess I’ll get a new phone lol

My iPhone SE was having issues like every time I got on the road it was constantly losing service and signal and if I had my GPS on for work it would lose service and I would lose GPS signal which would cause many problems I just updated my phone on the iOS I believe is the new one will see if that works

I just had this problem. Went to Tmobile they can’t find the problem. Went to apple and same thing. Found issues but cannot fixed it. Good thing phone is still under warranty and they replaced it with a new one.

I experience same problem with my iPhone SE. The phone it’s only one year old with no water problems or other issues. 3 days ago it just started out of nowhere to show “no SIM card” even if the sim was inside. The I went on RU-vid and I try every possible trick in 24h but with no results. It seams that apple decided to put out all mobile phones below 6s. It’s disgusting but this how apple works! They try to make you buy the lasts iPhone so when you update your OS your old phone will start malfunctioning.

To anyone with a iPhone 7. There is a known defect with the cellular board on this model. It causes your cell service to stop. These RU-vid tricks will fix some temporarily. But go to apple website and search for the no service issue. You will find the link and there is a process. Apple has a 3 year from purchase warranty for this problem. Buttt the model number on back of phone is specific for the phones they will repair. You'll have to check the website. Most likely it will have to be replaced. Good luck going to apple store as we were told a week wait before we could get appointment to fix it. So no phone service for a week. No loaner phone, nothing. This is not Steve jobs apple company.......

the problem right off the bat is that with no service promt you cannot access the updates. all i can do is text through fb messenger if im on a friends wifi even with wifi calling enabled . text messages come in when im not near a wifi but my replies show as not delivered

There use to be a menu item for Carrier. After iOS 12 update it is gone. I need to swirch in between Carriers in order to get a good signal in my area. Any idea whee it has gone?

If none of these simple fixes work it's because the problem is on the circuit board. The baseband CPU chip may need refastening because of bad pin connections. It's usually a hardware issue that Apple will never get involved with.

i have done all these lots of times and they don’t always work for me. honestly my phone does have damage but even before the damage it would mess up and say searching then out of no where i would do one of these and it would fix. it hasn’t done it in a while but it just recently did it again. and i can’t fix it.

This is why I didn't want to update my IPhone from version 10 Losing a lot of apps, this no service issue seems to be happening frequently and they keep trying to get me to update Apple Pay which I've never used and don't want.
