I’m proud to say I’m on an iPhone 13 mini just purchased a couple weeks ago brand new 🙏This is what a phone should feel like.

All I want for the SE is a 12/13 mini form factor

I really wanted it to be the same form factor as the mini :(

The iPhone SE 4 is looking to be a very compelling device on a budget. Good to see Apple is finally giving it a much needed upgrade.

I know I’m in a minority and the chances are slim (or non-existent) but I still love my 13mini, really hoping they add a min option back to the line at some point in the future.

They should just use the iPhone 12 Mini chassis. People love their small iPhones and this would be a great way to make them again

If they can still hover around that $450, this hits a sweet spot. Everything you need, nothing you don't. For people that don't really want to overspend on phones and a phone is more like a tool than means to make a living, this is awesome. Have it with at least 128GB base storage and I'm really fixing to get one.

Actually single camera on SE4 could be great if they implement a bit wider 24mm focal length with higher 48MP and utilize the zoom like in 15 series that can go to 35mm or 50mm with a 24MP result

I hope one day they’ll make a normal sized phone again no larger than 13 “mini” and that the only thing stopping them from doing asap is waiting just a bit more for battery technology improvements… A fool’s beautiful dream. To have a phone and not an iPad mini with me at all times.

This SE sounds too good to be true. It’s essentially got the display of the 14, but the processor and charging port of the 15. It’s missing the ultra wide lens that the 14 and 15 both have, but it gets to be $200-$300 cheaper? Why would anyone buy a 14 or a 15 at that point

I can't wait for the SE 4, honestly, I wish Apple made the SE 3 as a bigger screen like the 8 Plus would've 100% gotten that, but im still happy about this new 4th gen SE. (coming from a 2nd gen SE)

Will the previous IPhone SE receive the soft ware updates that apple constantly updates?

If it were on the mini form factor, I would go for it without a doubt. I love my 14 pro max too.

What I always pictured the SE4 to be (other than the obvious XR body) was the 12 with A16 -1 camera. I guess that's close enough

So the mini form factor dream is truly dead now. fml I guess. I’ll just replace my battery on my 13 mini and wait until they get rid of the notch/pill fully on the regular iPhone/pro, in like 2026 or something. Man I’m gonna miss this easy one handed bliss 😢

It’s interesting to see Apple launch products that are former concepts for iPhone 13 and 14 that never launched. That’s what this is.

se3 User here. Love the device, but hearing the additions of USB C and the larger display this is an instant upgrade.

If that is the design they go with, specifically that camera bump, it’ll be the best looking iPhone in the lineup.

The SE may be boring. But it’s the best thing for the buck that iPhone has to offer. It’s what I get for all my employees and my kids as well. Of course I’m in a 15 Pro Max but you get the point.

I only use the one lens anyway. It's nice to have the others but when I take photos and videos I'm on the one main camera lens.

I really wish Apple would add Touch ID to newer iphone models on the power button.

There is no way this gets an action button if its slated for a spring 2024 release when the regular model doesn't have it. Its either 2025 or no action button. Can't have both, it would break Timmy's laddering.

I think theyl add a finger print scanner to the new SE like the iPads have, its probably cheaper than putting face ID sensors on it, and they could also add that to the pros as a “we did something new this year to it”

I’m 30 and I love the SE. I’ve been getting them since the 1st gen. It’s a decent value for someone ho prefers iOS but doesn’t want to spend crazy money on a phone. All I need is gps, phone, iMessage, and a basic camera. Honestly I really only use the phone for the camera, my Apple Watch takes care of everything else with AirPods. I use my iPad for any multimedia or social media at home. Which inadvertently helps keep my sanity by avoiding that stuff when I’m out of the house. I do prefer Face ID over fingerprint cus I work in construction and my hands are always dirty. So I hope that part of these rumors are true.

Alternatively, wait for the next batch of iPhone 12s to drop on the Apple refurbished store and get one of those? I recently bought one on the UK site for £419 and I think they go for a similar price in the US.

I have a fold 4 but I like to have a small iPhone 8 for my family's iMessage group chat and apple wallet and a few creature comforts. Excited for this SE to come out so I can get the current. SE dirt cheap and then eventually get this new one after another one comes out!

Definitely considering this from a top tier pixel 7 pro if this turns out to be true. Like someone else mentioned I doubt it’s getting the action button when the regular iPhone 15 doesn’t have it they’re not gonna put it on the cheaper model. They’ll save that for an upgrade down theroad.

Most likely 13 mini form factor will be the next se, But personally i don't like notches and punch holes, what i like is a full screen display without any kind of interference. If they had kept the touch id and just gave a bigger display with minimum bezels, i would have been sold.

One thing that iPhone SE is missing is the fully support for AirTags. You only get a bare minimum support for it, so you can't navigate to your AirTag with iPhone SE and get direction and distance like you can with iPhone 11 and newer "numbered iPhones". I expect this difference between SE and numbered iPhones to keep on. So why no iPhone SE in march 2024? Because of Apple Vision Pro?

My iPhone history: 5C, SE 1 and then iPhone 11. This was due to several reviewers pointing out what a great deal it was being $75 cheaper than the SE 3 and you're getting a larger screen and bigger battery. I'm not a power user so those two things are most important to me. And they were right, I couldn't be happier. Except by the time the SE 4 comes out it might be worth taking that big leap forward.

Apple’s budget products are a little off what most people would consider budget

For a SE package this is a great bargain which includes a higher capacity battery, action button, fingerprint reader and a bigger better screen. For a budget phone a single lower quality camera shouldn't be a deterrent especially for the teenagers. Having an upgraded phone chassis like the iPhone 14 is great. 😎💯👍🏾

Currently that would be a very good deal for €500 or more, whatever the SE 4 will cost in Europe. However, if it takes until the end of 2024 / beginning of '25 until the release, then the price might still be okay, but not as great as it would be now.

Finally excited for an iPhone after all these years, the single camera is an upside to me cause those multiple lenses on the back have become an eyesore.

Give it the 48MP sensor as the only sensor with its sensor crop zoom and we have a winner!

apple should bin the "plus" models, replace with a mini, and instead add an "SE plus" model (i know how cursed it sounds knowing where the SE concept stemmed from, but nowadays it ain't about size, it is about value) they'd capture more market and segment that weird "14/15/16 plus" one this way all yearly iterations would have their defined market: standards: 16 and 16 pro, size: 16 mini and 16 pro max and you'd have two SE models filling gaps: SE (modified 14 chassis), SE plus (modified 14 pro max chassis) you'd segment that "16 plus" market but it would make sense 1: the big phone guys that want the "newest" iphone would be nudged to the pro max series instead 2: conversely, the big phone guys that want the "best battery eficiency", or a just a big iphone for less $$ would be happier with an SE plus, properly optimized, a bit underclocked and even cheaper and apple would have to make just 3 chassis: mini, standard (se, classic and pro edition), and big (se plus, and pro max)
