This happened with me 2 days ago in Delhi around 11pm , I’m in a call and 2 guys came from back in Scooty and try to snatch my iPhone 13 Pro Max , but my grip was tight so the phone fell off and the thieves ran away . Even if apple adds the feature of password requirement before switching off it does not help if the sim is removed. Best option is to use E sim with that i think they can still track iphone while its off and put in lost mode

Hi Gaurav, I feel people should use fingerprint scanner to lock and unlock for additional safety. These prevents people to see your pin for unlocking phone.

Using a SIM PIN is essential too. The scammer would need to enter a pin to enable your SIM card once it’s turned off or if you insert the sim into a different phone too.

I have seen the feature of switching off the phone after verifying fingerprint or passcode in Realme 9 pro & I think it must be available in Realme devices having Realme UI 3.0 but i had a doubt if you can't switch off the phone due to this security feature, the thief can also eject the SIM and bringup the same condition as you can't track the phone anymore, then how can one counter act such scenario ? also, at 4:04 you said the thief tries to do something fishy through SIM details but these can be solved if we put SIM Card Lock & thus no one can access the SIM except you. also, we should try to keep our Internet & location ON whenever we are outside so, that MAP gets uninterrupted tracking of location until the SIM is in the phone.

Lagta hai switch off karte time password mangne lage toh flash karne ke time par bahut mushkil hoga. Kyon ki if owner password bhul jaaye toh ya kisi aur jaan booj ke change kar diya toh, ya kisi bhi koi bhi vajah se password nahi pata. tab flash karne ke liye phone ko switch off karna padega agar switch off karne ke liye bhi password mange toh phone ko flash karna mushkil hai phir toh phone apne aap ko hi drain hone dena padega I guess. Pehle hi iPhone ko continuously bhi chalaaye toh 8 se 9 ghantein chalega. Yah par phone ko use kiye bina apne aap hi drain hone dena hai. Yeh mushkil hai. I think issi vajah se phone ko switch off karte time brand password magne jaisa integrate nahi kiye hai.

In Samsung, if you press to switch-off button on the lock screen it will ask pattern or pin or fingerprints which is safer. So better avoid using iPhones.

If you have Samsung (Say Galaxy Note 10) change power down button into wake up bixby option. Now it cant be switched off by simple pressing power button. Also train-up bixby to understand only your tone. Even if the scammer type shutdown/ reboot bixby ask to unlock first.
