Isn’t the camera really grainy though? I just bought mine && will be returning it tomorrow for the X. I get some people want their photos automatically ‘beautified’ but if I wanted to edit my pictures i should be given the option instead of it being forced upon me. Really not happy with this phone, it’s huge too!
i'm going to get xr rather than refurb x as even though the x has much better display, id rather have much better performance and baterry life from a brand new, bigger and more colourful phone.
Another thing people don't know about OLED vs LCD; because of the structure of the OLED panel that Apple uses not every pixel has an equal amount of red, green and blue subpixels. The 458 PPI is only true for the green subpixels. The red and blue subpixels only have a PPI of 305, so that's actually less than the XR.
If it preforms better and has better batteri life. Thats alot more important IMO. But with that said a note 9 would still outclass any of these iPhones.. But im still getting The red xr 😂
@@0123vegeta Note 9 is a fantastic phone if you are willing to jump ship and adopt Android. I think Andriod is better in many ways. I an using using S9 Plus at the moment after using X for a few months. No regrets.
Kuldip Singh That is true, unless you want to use VR, in that case the Samsung display is much better. You have to remember that phones today aren’t used for just to make calls.
Why do people keep forgetting that the iPhone 7 and even the iPhone 8 had a 326 ppi! And because the display on those were only 4.7 inches, that’s even lower resolution!
Was hoping Apple would drop the price of the X but no Apple just axed it completely... For the price I’d take last years X over the XR any day A11 is still a beast, has much much better screen, dual lenses with real zoom, 3D Touch, and the better build quality with the stainless steel... Makes me wonder why they even took the time and money to even bother making the XR Could have given us the X at the same price as XR, but nope... Apple is really starting to disappoint me
Aaron Hainan The reason they got rid of the X is exactly for that reason, people would see the lack of anything new in the XS and understand that the X would be a no brainier. So instead they axe the X and introduce a weaker XS known as the XR to create incentive for the XS. But anyone with a bit of common sense won’t fall for the XR trap and will instead opt for a new X on eBay.
I mean u see it in a way where a11 is fine. I se it in a way where having a iPhone 6 screen is fine. I'd Esther have better performance and batteri 🔋 depends on what u want. Xr for me tho

It would have been nice for Apple to give us a choice at least, last years X or new XR for same price point. I’m still an Apple fan, and love iOS, but this seems like nothing but a greedy move to me rather than trying to make happy customers That’s what upsets me most
I have the original x and no need to switch. The Xr is nice but no thanks! Battery life last long on the X as well. Just turn off app refresh and couple other features and It last just as long long as the xr! If you come from 6, 6 s or lower or even 7, go for it!
yeah XR is the better option to buy if u dont have any of them for being cheaper. If u can get X for the same price as XR, then X is the better option because it’s a most valuable piece.

I thought it was but I think , they wanted to separate the notch type phones from the bezel type phone. Also if they made it a 9 the market would think it isn’t as good as the x or ‘10’ so they would possibly decrease sales, meaning it is a marketing technique. I hate that it is called that though.
Masterjo I own a 10r and it’s fine. If you want a 500 dollar android then go for it. Come back in a year and we’ll see how both of the phones have held up though. Androids get much slower much faster over time.

@@profribasmat217 that's because the 6s has 720p as well. I have a note 9 and it has 1440p, which is the middle man between 1080p and 4k. The 6s was made in 2014. This is 2018
Clémence Lussigny The A12 chip is way better than the A11 chips. The xr is 50% faster, has a much better battery, more color choices, better camera, arguably better speakers.
Austin Hickerson hi! Honestly I don’t really mind the small difference in speed, I already feel like the X is pretty fast. In terms of battery, I am planning on getting a smart battery case just in case, but the battery isn’t that bad on the X. I don’t like colored phones, so black or silver is my way to go! I’d rather have superzoom than not, and the slight difference in the quality of speakers doesn’t really bother me. I enjoy the more premium side of the X and the display. But I’ll admit that the Xr is really nice as well. Overall I think the phone you choose is based on your preferences, choose the phone that suits you! 😄
Clémence Lussigny I agree, but you can’t say the x is better than the XR because that’s just false. I’ve had both phones and the xr is better in about 9/10 ways. I don’t miss the zoom at all, but I do miss the portrait mode for objects/my dog. The battery life is soooo much better on the XR, and even with the phones side by side I still don’t see any real difference in the display. Aside from that the phone is just way more fluid all around. The x is also a great phone, but I’m telling you it don’t feel, look, or work any better than the XR at all.

For me, the XR will be my next phone. Granted, the LCD screen may not be as sharp as the OLED but it still clear and very viewable. Heck, the iPads use LCDs with a lower PPI and it's still great. Unless you like looking at your phone 4 inches from your face, both screen types are satisfactory. More processing power, updated graphics, potentially better battery life, better camera....the XR is perhaps the better iPhone overall. That's good enough for me.
XR isn’t a downgrade. No it’s not as great as XS and XS max. But the average consumer isn’t gona care to spend $250 more for a few extra specs they prob won’t use/care abt... the XR is a great phone. Faster than X, great specs, impeccable battery. Flashy colors to finish off
I have the XR and it’s amazing well I mean I upgraded from a 6...but the price I was disappointed with, somewhat worth it but this is just my opinion. (Now don’t attack me that your iPhone 5 is better than anything on the market🤣💀)

celeste i got the x, and when i’ve payed the phone off i’ve payed 1200$ it hits but i truly love the phone and, don’t include the monthly data that’s not a part of your phone
SAF! Nobody else has the stones... Somebody really needs to hammer Apple for the crazy pricing! the Max is $1100us and only has 64BG of storage??? WTF??? So basically if you want a max, you need to drop $1200. No headphone dongle?? cheap asses!!! and still no quick charge in the box??? How can you build quick charge into your device and not give you the accessory to use the feature straight away??? AGAIN! They get away with so much nickle and diming the crap out of their customers, it is crazy. The arrogance and Apple tax is going too far. $1450us for any phone is insane. I 100% agree. The USA made massive tax cuts for big corporations. Apple benefited so much from these. They were put in so that employees would be paid more and prices would come down. People should be ashamed of Apple, not justifying them.
People keep saying the xr is not as sharp and clear but i don’t see it. The screen looks great and everything looks perfect, no blurry writing or edges or anything. Then theres the brightness, colours and whites and black not looking as deep. with true tone on is any of that relevant? But with True tone on doesnt it change the colours and tones making them all look the same?
Incoming In-depth and honest review, Iphone XR is better than the X in more prevalent ways such as battery life, performance, larger screen and its cheaper! However if you need the dual camera (telephoto lens to zoom), 3d touch and oled screen then fair enough, choose the Iphone X. I am going to debate about the pros and cons of each device. Onto the most debated downside of the XR (the display) - Honestly the XR's display is just perfect, its a balance between performance and a beautiful display, why waste cpu, gpu and ram on a display which you wont being able to tell the difference from at normal viewing distance, eventhough i agree that OLED displays do look much more crisp and vibrant but cmon seriously you are not going to stick your face onto the screen while using your phone so you wont be able to tell the difference as much. I prefer the balance of the LCD screen, not forgetting to mention XR has the best LCD screen on market right now and Apple its known for making the best LCDs, but the same cannot be said for the OLED screens because Apple started using them just a year ago compared to LCDs which they have used since the start. This allows Apple to mitigate the downsides on LCD screens, such as not having deeper blacks to an extent that you wont even notice if the XR is an OLED screen or not, however since Apple is new to the OLED technology, they are not able to mitigate the downsides of OLED displays to the extent they are able to do so with their LCDs, so maybe in the future once Apple can get used to OLED technology, then we can agree that OLED is superior to LCD but as of now overall, Apples LCD display is better than its OLED displays, when factoring in performance, cost of repairing and the display itself. To be frank, the Iphone XR's camera is also better than the X, its just that the X has an extra camera who's job is to just zoom without losing picture quality which may not be a big deal to most people since some people dont zoom anyway as it still means you're losing picture quality, its just not as much compared to a single camera. So if you're a person who uses the phones camera alot to zoom on pictures go with the X, if you do not zoom as much go with XR as it has a single better camera. Weve seen Google Pixel prove how the single camera can be the best camera in a phone on the market. Moreover, the 3d touch is not a big deal breaker also, most people do not use it, and even if you do use it, the XR has haptic feedback which can replicate 3d touch, maybe right now its not to the extent you would like, but in the future with software updates, expect the haptic feedback to get much better to the point its literally the same as 3d touch, more or less. To conclude, the draw backs of the Iphone XR is negligible, however this cannot be said for the Iphone X. Not forgetting to mention the XR would be supported an extra year since its a newer device, this is important for those who uses their phone for around 4-5 years, the A12 processor also extends the longevity of the XR. Both phones also feel very premium in the hand, one doesnt feel more premium than the other, especially now that the X is now £800 instead of £1000. The XR's pricing can be still high at £750 but atleast it can justify itself more than the other Iphones since you see a big positive difference in battery life, bigger display for those who likes media/gaming content and the A11 processor in the X is the best in the market beating snapdragon 845 and kirin 980, so of course the A12 on the XR is going to be way better than all processors for another 1.5 years to come.
I actually just upgraded from a X to the XR. - Started seeing 3D Touch as a gimmick that I never used. - Never really zoomed in while take pictures. Even when I did, it wasn’t all that great. That’s personal opinion. - For some reason I prefer the screen on the XR versus the X. Seems like my pictures on Instagram look better on this screen. - Dual sims. - XR is faster and snappier. - Better battery life. -I’m only paying $28 versus $47.91 a month for a discontinued iPhone. I’m done paying for superior Apple phones until they include some Samsung/android features and functionality and give me my money’s worth for at least more than a year. I think they should slow down on hardware and work on the software.
yeah I'd get 1080p if it wasn't oled so it lasts longer and was as thin but the x's have a thicker phone size and lastly I doubt I'll tell the difference between my 8 if I want over 720p I have a 1440p monitor for my computer but unfortunately 1080p and lower videos look shit on it :( so have to use phone to see clear 1080p and lower
@Tiger Steel so you basically want to give money to a rich company already? Samsung Huawei and other companies doesn't offer 720p LCD display nowadays. If you're dumb enough to buy an iPhone XR then go buy it, nobody forces you not to do so. But you can get better stuff for the same price or either spend more and buy the XS.
Great insight. Another advantage to the XR is that it supports more of the new carrier bands that are coming out, at least I think so. I know the XS does.
Got a new iPhone X recently for a stellar price..lesser than what the Xr is priced at and I think X is better as an overall package compared to the Xr.
Iphone X is still developed device when it launched. My iphone X sometimes crush. After upgrade it to iphone XR. No doubt my XR is the best. Better battery, better face id speed, better speakers.
The only thing i care about on a phone is the gb, video and camera quality gotta take those snapchats and instagram pictures and also im a youtuber and i film with my phone and also edit with my phone
I wish reviewers like you would make assertions based on the meaning of figures and not just the figures numerical values themselves. The XR screen is already above the resolving power of the average human eye at the working distance the average person holds their iPhones. Therefore, unless held side by side and with a resolving aid, users should not be abletell the iPhone XR is not as smooth as the its X, XS & MSMax competition. They should both look like print. It’s the meaning of the figures that matter.
The iPhone x is surely still the better phone overall, they are both great no doubt but the X has the screen, something that you are constantly looking at on your phone.
I’ll trade you my Xr it has 100% battery and 128 GB and it’s unlocked honestly I would rather the X cause I like smaller phones ig it’s cause I came from a 6s!!
Other manufacturers put the best screens (isheep dont know Apple buys their best screens from Samsung- but Samsung sells them their lower resolution 2nd tier screens-while the best screens are on Galaxy Phones...)in the business in their phone with better battery life
i had LG G3 with QHD display...it was amazing...but to be honnest...im looking at screen of my iphone 6s about 2h per day...its no big deal for me, i like boht android and ios phones....but iphones feels bit more comfy to me

10R camera and sensor is the same as the main unit supplied in the 11 and 11 pro so much better than the X and XS. Great video and a really unbiased view
I’d choose the X over the Xr. The X right now has great value. You can pick up a new one for $700-800 from a reseller. The specs are not crazy far from the Xs. Plus I need an OLED display. But that’s just me
I personally have the iPhone X and I got the 256g for a great price. In the end your comparing flagship to non flagship like the SE vs the 6, it might have been newer but there is really no comparison in quality
iPhone XR has more color options, the A12 Bionic Chip which is better than the A11 chip, the 128GB Sweet Spot, a larger display, and a better battery life.
Just upgraded from 7 plus to Xr And it feels so good But the X looks better , feels better to grip , lighter , and feels more premium , plus much better screen but I prefer the better performance and battery life , camera on the Xr

The iPhone XR is a cool phone but the x is a way better choice in my opinion. You can get a cheap iPhone X for at least $800 or less. The Xr is a waste of money. Sure it’s faster but the screen display is terrible! It doesn’t even have 3D-touch like what? So in conclusion I’m getting the x rather than the xr :)

I thought the 10r screen wasn’t that good because of RU-vid then I took it back and got the galaxy s10 e after having that phone for a day I traded back got my damn I phone the screen is real good almost as good as the s10e long as you don’t mind not having the cartoony colors oled screens produce
