Not a little difference bro, there is a huge difference between OLED and LCD panel that's clearly visible and even the resolution is very different. 828 vs 1440 is very different.
Nice work young man! I want to dive in the IOS world for the first and I'm actually looking for an iphone less then 400$ that will get me started. I'm using a pixel 4a at this moment and looking for a iphone as good in terms of performance and image quality. I was considering buying the XR as a lot of tech reviewers recommand it but the fact that it doesn't have night mode for taking pictures is quiet of a downside for me. Any other recommandations Sir??
OLED in my personal opinion is over rated in the tech world yes it’s crisper I have seen a 13 pro max next to my 11 it is crisper but there is no insane difference that makes me want to change
@@lg-spook also lcd can be very high resolution on tv screens because their bigger you can get a 4k ultra hd flat screen tv that’s lcd from Sony that looks incredible I know because I have one
It’s because apple calibrates it’s phone screens to look the same, the vibrant colors are taken advantage of in android phones more, apple doesn’t want you seeing a crazily wide difference
XS for me because 2x telephoto. It is so useful because it is 52mm which means it doesn't distort peoples faces and objects. I take most of my photos with it. It looks realistic and has good bokeh like a big camera. Ultrawide is just a toy, fun to play with but of no real use. Manufacturers like it because it's cheap. LCD vs OLED is 50-50 for me. OLED blacks are sexy af but the white balance, durability and repair cost of an LCD is much better.
XR is one of those phones that has aged extremely well. Reviewers and Android fanboys were all bitching about it’s display but failed to realized that most people could not notice the difference unless you told them. XR brought iPhone X features to an iPhone 8 price tag. So it was perfect for people who updated from iPhone 7 or below or for people who wanted to get into iOS or FaceID without paying a 4 figure price. Extremely well designed phone and very few phones have aged well after 3 years. It’s also thanks to Apple’s commitment to provide 5 years of feature and security updates.
XS is still better tho. 4gb vs 3gb on XR is already much more future proof and OLED still wins. LCD on XR and 11 have this green tint many will always notice once look closely.
@@TheKelz never said XR was better than XS. What I meant was that for a person who bought the XR at its launch price of 700$, they got their money’s worth and then some with the XR. Of course XS is better than XR because it was designed to be. It was also 300$ more expensive than XR. So if the XR has aged so well, it goes without saying that the XS has also aged pretty well. Coming to RAM, you most likely will not feel the difference between 3GB vs 4GB RAM for the next few years, unless you are a power user. iOS has superb RAM management and even in the coming 2-3 years, at any point it will easily be able to keep 4-5 apps in the background at a time with 3GB RAM. That is good enough for a regular user. LCD vs OLED is a game changer though. It’s the reason I waited for Apple to put OLEDs in their base model, before upgrading from my low end Android phone to iPhone.
This is my guy. I wanted the review of this two iPhones because I want to get one for me in Dec. Hope your channel got bigger. I will be with you my man!
@@marbenbornidor1842 i have decided on iPhone XS Max, im getting the bigger screen. I did my research and they literally have the same specs but xs max has 16 hours screen time and i also compared it with 11, even tho it has better battery, they also have same specs except with the chip and much affordable for now.
iam a normal user i use my mobile max 4hrs per day social media and 10min call and texting 30min 4-4:30 hrs max per day usage i have 1+7T now but its slower and i have mac book air m1 i use it for streaming netflix and youtube videos i dont use my mobile mostly iam planing to buy a iphone now because iam in love with the mac os and definetly the ios is going to be good when compare to my oxygen os and i preffer xs and 11pro because its 5.8 inch handy other phones are 6.1 and curve design and i just take photos in snap and some portrait. now in chennai 11pro256 is for 48K and xs 256 is for 30-33k which one should i buy in xs i love the old shcool look but when it comes to 11pro same design 5.8 + curve additional one camera and chip differ and 2 years extra update any way iam going to use it for 2-3 years and its a pro model which is far better when compared to 12pro and 13pro no that much in difference which one shoul i buy xs or 11pro ??
OLED screens definitely look pretty, but people often seem to forget that for years we used to have LCD panels on smartphones and we thought they looked excellent. Marketing has taught people that a phone is only good if it has an OLED screen. There's definitely benefits to having a phone with an LCD screen. The biggest one being the pretty much negligible risk of screen burn in. The other one is that typically an LCD is going to be easier on your eyes if you are sensitive to the PWM that OLED screens use to adjust brightness.
Although the XS has a steel chassis and is supposedly more durable, you’ll find that it picks up lots of micro scratches on the highly polished edges (my 11 Pro did despite it being in a case). My current iPhone is a 12 (regular, not Pro) in white and I much preferred the design and look (no more ‘Pro’s for me). Nice vid 👍
I compared my Xr display to my sister's iPhone 12 display and I honestly did not notice that huge improvement I was expecting since iPhone 12 has an oled one. I don't know if it is because Apple's display color calibration makes oled displays looking pretty natural colors such as their LCD ones, instead of what samsung does with their oled punch colored displays. It was thinking about upgrading , but since I used her iPhone 12, it made me realize that I can still have the same experience with my Xr, since it still pretty snapy and it has a great camera as well. Maybe in a few years , if new models innovate more.
I put my XS next to a Galaxy S10 and the black of an OLED is so much better and satisfying. The XR display ist good, but there is a huge improvement with OLED. - just my opinion
Nope I have used xr and xs max the difference is night and day for me xr display is 828p lcd thick bezels display Xs max is miles ahead in terms of battery display built quality etc I prefer xs max all day, wasted my money on xr - my opinion
Good video. Though the iPhone XR is a good phone, the specs on the XS are much better. Or get the XS Max as you can get them a lot cheaper now. If you’re considering buying one of these in 2021 or 2022, go with the XS Max. Don’t waste your money on the XR.
The difference between Oled and lcd is very visible; comparing my lcd iPhone to my oled iPhone shows a significant difference in colours, viewing angles and deep blacks, get the xs the screen is better
xr was brought to market to provide all the premium feature at a cheaper price but not to out perform the premium models, people love xr because of its price and all the feature it has, but remember iphone xs is always better than xr and it supposed to be
@@depression_isnt_real In my opinion, the XS looks so much better but has worse battery life. I think the XS has a better size but that’s preference. The XS screen is better too. Red XR actually doesn’t look very nice id go with black
@@Yes-cm1ph the battery life difference is insignificant though. My brother has a brand new XR and his battery life isn’t really all that special at all. I’ve seen XS last close to how my brother’s XR lasts. Overall XS is a better buy these days.
I have xr now and I brought it for 300$ a second hand and it issss good!! The screen is good, battery life lasts 8hrs of natural using!!!! XR is better I PROMISE!!!!
I just received a pre-owned XS that I ordered and currently downloading iOS 15. I'm yet to observe the battery life later on after the upgrade but so far, it's doing just perfectly well and within my expectation. I bought this to replace my SE 2020 that has very poor battery life.
@@TheKelz SE 2020 versus XS? There's a big difference. With average use (without gaming coz I don't play games on my phone), the SE can barely survive by dawn. You're lucky if you can have 5-10% by end of day. With XS, you can still have like 15-25% left.
@@thomasshelby9004 you were not asking me but i got a xs 2 months ago and the battery life is really good! my battery health is 82% and im surprised that even with that it can still last a whole day with moderate usage (i just have to charge it once a day before i go to sleep)!
I don’t have any problem playing graphically, intensive games, like call of duty, which is literally optimized to plan almost everything even the lowest spec, phones, and tablets that’s not a real power flex for any device
Hey kid your spot on with this! I subscribed only for the fact your honest reaction to the XR screen not being on in one take, and you just laughed and moved on! You didn't care to edit and that comes from an honest soul! Btw, I laughed too! I look forward to more of your content!
In my humble opinion, both phones are equal. Get the XR if you don't care about the outdated display and are looking to spend no more than $250. Get the XS for an overall more premium phone with acceptable battery (not recommended for the heavy usage user). Also worth mentioning expect to pay more for the premium aspect on the XS (better display) and contrary to popular belief the difference is definitely noticeable, but if you're coming from an older device the XR is Good. For any phone you choose to buy DO NOT get 64gb, 256 or greater is recommended on ANY phone. With all of that being consider saving up $350 and getting a used iPhone 11 for a longer lifespan in the Apple eco system.
Can you make a video about 2018 iphone flagship vs 2021 midrange? Like iphone xs vs poco f3? The best of iphone in 2018 vs the best midrange/flagship killer of 2021. Just like mrwhosetheboss’s videos comparing old flagship and new midrange.
I prefer the xs and I feel like he made it look worse I mean if u wanna do a competition between the two phones they must both be at 100% battery life and I recently got the xs and there is no fingerprint when I touch it
I had the chance to choose between the XS and the XR but I chose XS because for some reason a 128gb XR has the same price as the 256gb XS (law of supply and demand ig). Not gonna lie tho, XR might be better in some aspects but the XS is definitely okay too, since it has some advantages and its like the 2018 version of an iPhone 14 Pro we have today
Iphone 11 and Xs are about the same price on the used market here. I went for the Xs. Let's see how far the 80% battery will take me. I've used a X with 100% battery health before and it felt like it lasted forever, so I'm guessing it won't be that bad.
Still watching and before he gets too far I just have to say, I own both phones and to my eyes the only difference screen wise I see is a slightly thicker boarder on the Xr. Otherwise I see zero difference between the two. Cepting the Xr is a bit larger. While the Xr may have a bigger battery I have only once or twice never made it through the day on a charge on the Xs. But but but, the app for night mode is HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS cheaper than a new phone. And honestly I never saw the difference between the led or oled. I doubt 99% of people would see it unless you were in a pitch black room and it was specifically pointed out.
I have the iP11, Xs and the 13 and when compared the 11 to other iphones that is OLED you will notice it right away but when i used my iP11 for 2 months the Display was not a big deal just don't compare it to iPhones with OLED Screens... when i'm using the 13 the brightness even on 50% just too bright so i lower it to 40% since i was used to iP11's display that is even on 50% it was just the right brightness
Ppl are sleeping on the iPhone XS right now it’s at a great price. I bought mine for 220$ and the XR was around the same price and I think you gotta go with the XS over XR since they at the same price range the 11 was just out my price range 290 and up . But I’m happy with my purchase and wouldn’t buy a newer Samsung even at the same price which there’s quite a few androids that were . I haven’t been on the Apple ecosystem since the 6s and wanted a change of pace since I had a op7 pro and a pixel 4xl which they both were great phones but still don’t feel as premium to me as the XS . Idk if I’m just in the honeymoon phase with this phone still or not but I’m still amazed with it .
I had been using an iphone xr about two years now. Its still a beast. The only time you’ll feel bad is when you put an xr near to any oled display. Otherwise its fine af
I usually find a lot of review channels boring and can't watch through more than a couple minutes, but I like your style and often find myself watching til the end.
