I own an iPhone Xs with a battery health of 82%, yet it doesn’t let me down for the day and takes me to the end of the day with single charge. Never felt anything deficient in this phone in contemporary smartphone environment except an ultra wide lens.
Mine have the same percentage as yours and it lasts a day just fine and that's owning it for 3 years. However I'm a very light phone user so that's something to take into account.
I’ve had my XS since 2018, why am I not worried about upgrading? Seriously this is a great phone it definitely has held up with the times and still super fast and great photos. Honestly it’s the nicest looking iPhone till this day imo. Great video
@@EnzooznEjus got mines like couple days ago first time iPhone user and I gotta say it’s rlly good other the battery being a little shabby it Carrie’s me through ma day good as long as your not being a heavy user like gaming cameras great and it’s rlly fast I say go for it
Let me recommend you to use dark mode to save on battery because, with an OLED, black pixels donˋt use any power! I have no problem with battery life on my 3 year old XS.
Thanks for the review! Great one! Also still using iPhone XS. No need to upgrade. Also if it comes to battery life, you can by a wireless power bank or a apple case with power bank inside. Works great for me
I made an downgrade from iPhone 13 (gifted to my mom) to iPhone Xs with 84% battery health. I can say that I feel myself satisfied and I prefer more to use 2x zoom camera than ultra wide, so definitely this is really good choice for me
Am also thinking about downgrading from a 13 pro, I had a xs before but the camera is so trashy, especially in darker light. It gets so smoothed and looks like a Samsung galaxy camera. I miss my old pictures, now I rarely take any.
@@habboween I have the xs and I don’t really use the camera except if I need to or just see something I feel like taking a picture of I had the se 2020 and the camera is better then that and the quality is good it’s not the best but better then my other phone
I’ve had my Space Grey Xs Max 512GB variant for about 3-4 years now and I gotta say it’s still holding up quite well. I like to conserve my battery as much as possible so I keep my brightness at 50% along with most features off like motion, locations, vibrate, etc. I’m at 84% battery capacity and I know it’s taken a toll on SOT, but it’s not really an issue for me. I can leave the house on a single charge and be home with about 30% to 20% left. Just in time to put it back on the charger. Also I don’t game on my iPhone so that helps. My only con would be the selfie Camera. Other than that I think I’ll be holding onto this phone for another year or two. The iPhone 14 pro does look tempting.
My Brother Uses a Xs and the Battery Life is the Biggest Problem. It drained 30% of the Battery for a 20 Minute WhatsApp Video Call! No Other Problems at All. Holds Up really well
I just switched from the MI 9t to a "like new" xs max because of size and battery. Coming from a 4k mah phone it holds up nicely, considering the battery health is at 86%. I haven't noticed any performance issue, everything loads fast enough. I take a selfie/video like once every 6 months so I don't really care about the camera quality, but it still takes good pictures. I won't be buying a new iphone until apple makes another oled, that looks as nice/premium as the xs/max gold.
I have a mi 9t and I'm thinking of upgrading to the xs also. I spent $300 on the mi 9t and I could get the xs for around $300 also. Should I get it or is it worth it to spend a little more money on the 11?
@@nathanielf6469 it depends on your taste. I tried the 11 and I didn’t like it cause the screen looked washed out, I think it’s cause I was already used to the mi9t oled screen. If you have a bit more money I’d recommend getting the 12 instead, the 11 is basically an expensive iPhone XR. But has better battery than the Xs. If you want a premium phone with a decent battery, and better screen on a budget the xs and xs max are still great phones to have. However I wouldn’t spend more than $300-$330 on it
I use this as a secondary phone for testing apps (for work), and it works very well for me. My battery was at 80% health when I got it, but I only use it a few hours a day, so I can go days without charging it. Defintely a great budget phone choice.
my stepfather could've given me the XS but he knows the battery life isn't good so he bought a XR for me as a replacement to my Redmi Note 10 Pro which is a good thing since Xiaomi has been plagued with hardware/software problems.
@@the-photographer6086 i upgraded from the XR to the 13 PM, and the XR didn't even last a day lol.. and why decline the XS. it has an OLED and more premium look anyways
@@frankeebensteadd I have the 12, and I know people who have the xr who are very satisfied. Most people can’t tell the difference from oled to LCD. 99% of people only use their phones for social media, a tiny bit of games, texting and calling. Maybe some media consumption.
Contrary to your claim, the tests I've seen pitting the XR against the XS show the XS lasts longer (even though its battery is smaller). This is at least partly due to the fact the XS has an OLED screen which uses less power
Wow! Thanks for the commentary. I just purchased this 10 XS iPhone and looking for delivery later this week. I was stuck between excited and buyer's remorse. But your review (minus the battery life) has me feeling like I didn't make a bad choice in 2022. Thanks for the review. It was very helpful.
@@RaphaelAshanti I went from a XR to a Oneplus 6T which is amazing for the money but now I use a Macbook Pro M1 for work need to make the change for my sanity transferring files. Did you find one on the second hand market or refurbished?
@@bakeraus I searched Back Market which I've had success with in the past when adding the 2 yr drop & water damage warranty. But this time I went with my Amazon Prime and got a 256GB, Space Gray XS- Unlocked (Renewed) for about 295 and added a 2 yr accident protection.
@@RaphaelAshanti Good play! I never thought about amazon in my country. I'll give that a look, thanks for the tip. I want the OLED screen and I notice the iPhone 11 is LCD :( lucky I checked that out
I have a iPhone XS on 77% battery health it’s barely gets me thru the day but it does get me thru the day. That’s why I’ve ordered a 13 pro max for that’s sweet sweet 120 hz and nearly 2 days of battery
I went from the SE 2 to the XS for the larger screen and extra camera. I bought it used for $285 last month, battery is at 96%. Very pleased. The XR was not an option as it was too large for my needs.
Folks: please don’t forget that now that Apple has created and launched a co prehensile dark mode, the OLED screen of the Iphone 10 is designed to on,y turn on the pixels that are needed…which means you will automatically receive a bump in battery performance by about 15 to 20 percent if dark mode is on…this phenomenon only applies to OLEDS…my newly refurbished 10s has 85% battery life, and once I turned in the dark mode, the battery is amazingly good
I'm using the iPhone Xs with 78% battery health. I am planning to get a new battery from apple store. I do like the iPhone Xs a lot, especially the camera.
I went through 3 xs… in two weeks. Water damage, broken antenna, fell out my pocket while go karting. I really loved the phone. I got a 13 pro, and it’s nicer, but the XS was super nice. If I have bad luck with this phone I’ll see if I can buy a used XS instead.
I had a XS before and use a 13 pro now. Would you also say that the cameras are way better on the xs? I am thinking about downgrading again because I hardly take any pictures with the 13 pro, especially in lower light or selfies.
@@habboween I’ve been taking more cell phone photos actually. The macro mode and 3x lens are more useful for me. If I’m out at an event or taking a photo for work they’re the same but for more creative stuff I like the 13 pro. I just took a picture of a bee on a flower earlier, could’ve done that on the Xs But with less detail on the bee and less bokeh
I have a xs max and battery life is pretty bad. Health is at 85 so understandable. The phone gets pretty warm in normal use though and its pretty annoying. Otherwise performance is alright
anything below and iphone xs now feels ancient to use because i got mine on 87% battery health and it runs longer than my old phone (iphone 8) which had 95% battery health so anybody that hasnt been using a iphone produced after the xs shiuld seriously put in the cash for it because it is worth it and the battery only becomes bad when you have been exposed to a newer phone
That's nice. But I'm still torn between getting a used Xs or 11. Xs is cheaper of course and has a great display, but 11 is newer, a little bit more expensive, but has better battery and camera.
I just bought my xs (can't wait for it to arrive) but I feel what you are talking about. I couldn't make up my mind on the subject, so I took some things into consideration. 1) I'm not an heavy camera user, so it would have made no difference for me. 2) I prefer my screen to be pitch black when representing black, so... 3) at the same time, iPhone 11 is supposed to last a year longer than an iPhone xs 'cause it's newer. 4) I'm on a budget, so for the same amount of money I could have bought a refurbished 256gb xs in perfect condition (that means having the feeling of a brand new phone) or a 128gb 11 but in acceptable conditions. It's my first iPhone, i preferred getting the "brand new" experience xD 5) for what concerns the battery life... I needed a new powerbank as well, so I bought a powerbank cover and this should get me through the day without concerns. You know, I would have liked to buy an iPhone 11, but I had to be honest with myself and all the clue led tu the xs
@@veronicasturniolo3681 I can feel you. Lost my iPhone 8 and hence forced to upgrade on the spot. Just ordered it; anxiously waiting for it to arrive. And wondering whether I took the right choice or not. But from what I can concur, except on the battery part, I'm assuming that every aspect of XS is gonna feel like a upgrade from previous phone. So, should provide me with the joy and also not putting a hole in my pocket. There was a time in my life I wanted and desired to have the greatest and latest but since my switch from my OnePlus 5 to my first iPhone - 8 (also a sudden decision; broke my screen and was in need of a phone on urgent basis). My tech craving has shrunk a lot; maybe it's a age thing; inching towards 30. All in all, I just hope that it can suffice my already low needs esp. after COVID, movement for work has almost been zero since last two years. My plan is to rock it till Fall '23. Then I can upgrad to either 12 or 13 at fairly reasonable price. Sorry for blabbering. 🤦
@@PrakashKalapala bro I’m in the same place rn. My iPhone 7plus has a shattered screen and battery health is at 50%. It goes from 100% to 1% within an hours worth of use, so I have to charge it all day long while im not using it (4-8 times a day). I wanted the 14 but my new job requires me to have a reliable phone so im forced to upgrade, at least temporarily.. Im on a budget too, I like the premium build of the Xs Max and the OLED screen and it’s a little cheaper than the 11 and anything is an upgrade from the battery from my 7 plus lmao but yeah 11 is newer, will last longer, battery better, and the wide camera is not a huge deal for me. I plan to use this next for for the next 1-2 years or less anyway. So I’m thinking the XS Max should be the better choice?
I have an XS, I love it, my fav iPhone ever… BUT ; 1) I hate the battery life, drains quickly (charges quickly tho) 2) I dropped it in water and it is minutely water damaged, Face ID doesn’t work along with portrait mode 3) I use zoomed display, but graphic errors annoy me cuz of bezels 4) The swipe takes very long to open when locked 5) strong phone, but the camera popped out has been reported to be cracked 6) IT GETS HOT VEEY EASILY, SUCKS. CRASHES WHEN HOT AND TO THE POINT IT BURNED MY HAND
I just bought my Iphone XS from refurbished a few days ago , it came with 100% battery health , I was surprised . As my first iphone i can say I'm very satisfied , and I can go a full day without charging it once , this is the best phone I've ever used (I haven't used a lot) but I'm 90% sure it was worth its money .
I had mine since 2018 and my battery health is at 78%.it is a really good phone I had a iPhone 7 for the longest time and the xs is a major step up. Yes it has its issues like getting warm, freezing sometimes, other than that it never let me down I dropped it in mop water and it worked just fine. Good phone 👍🏽 I’m tryna get that iPhone 12 pro gold tho
I’ve had mine for almost like 4 months and I’m not going to be upgrading until June… battery is pretty good for its size I can make it through a day without a charger on screen time of around 5 hours to 5 in a half… my battery health is 97%

My battery dropped below 80% after 4 years. Went to Apple for a new battery, they had replacement issues, and ended up replacing my XS Max with a new one. No need to upgrade.
I am currently using an iPhone SE 2020 and thinking of switching to something like the iPhone XS because of budget. I want something more modern, and can’t afford to buy newer devices like the 11 or 11 pro, etc.
got an iphone xs max, im terrified of updating, because i hate newer iphone models. i tried using iphone 12 for a little, but ended up giving to my mother. something about XS makes it so perfect… idk what to do
Deciding on buying it this year.. only for a bit then when the iPhone 15 drops I’ll buy that. But for now this phone will be THE FIRST full edge screen iPhone I’ve ever used, hopefully it doesn’t disappoint!!
Bro I'm also thinking the same gonna get xs or Xs max till the release of 15 series .....I hope I don't regret it coz i7+ was my last iphone nd then went to galaxy series till now ....I'm really disappointed at galaxy may be coz of Indian version(Exynos) let it be 8gb of ram or more it's not that smooth as iphone series tooo laggy.mmm..i hope xs doesn't disappoint me
I'm thinking of switching from an android to an iPhone xs or an iPhone 11, I still don't kinda know which one I should choose, but yeah still a very interesting video!
Honesty if you have the money, go for the 11. you're getting a better camera, battery, and better performance because of the a13 chip in the iphone 11 compared to the a12 in the iphone xs
I’ve had my XS for almost three years, its battery life is letting me down as sometimes it will only charge to 78% but I love the design and everything else about it
I recently just purchased this phone for 220$ on backmarket and I’m coming from a op7 pro and pixel 4xl and I don’t notice but having the high refresh rate also I think this phone feels Soo much premium to me for some reason . At the price the xs is right now it’s a real gem I recommend buying it.
Loved the video! though I did notice something about your phone that kinda stood out to me. At 1:46 you can see all the square tile pixel spaces on the screen. A major indication the screen at one point in time was replaced. Also the color quality in the icons on the home screen aren't as rich in color and have a pale hue. Another indication the screen was replaced. Moral of this comment? Might be a good idea to get an Otter Box and find a better screen replacement. Some phone repair stores scam people into paying so much for a low quality replacement screen. I am far too scared to take my phone out of my case even indoors lol. You are more brave than I am when it comes to that. Anyways, keep up the good content!
I e had the Xs since launch. My battery health right now is 74%. I am planning on buying a 13 for specific upgrade which still able to use sim cards. But I can also change the battery the problem is the software updates. Itll stop when the 15 comes out or by 2024.
I am thinking of getting one but really confused as to which to pick. I don't take much pictures, I play games a lot so obviously I need a fast phone with a good battery.
I have the xs 256gb it’s nice but it gets hot I guess it’s because of the after market battery in the phone it slows down sometimes when it’s so hot like crazy When playing games but would change it cuz my old xs wasn’t like that.
hence why i took the xr instead becasue the battery last longer since it has bigger battery and lower res screen but weirdly enough the problem with xr and xs series is that the selfie camera is way too zoom in than the rest iphone series especially in instagram which is so annoying
I can see this guy English is not his primary language but I am appreciating the level of confidence and English he can speak. Although its coming from a guy who's English is also not mother language

So I transferred all my data to iphone everything felt fine until I opened the gallery application 😢.. in my android everything was well organized in separate albums like camera roll, whatsapp images, screenshots, downloads etc... Overall both will perform about the same, both have same cameras xs just has more. But for gaming honesty I’d say go for the XR cuz it has a bigger screen and better battery life in my opinion. I hope this helps :)
that thing with the crashing after you close an app is hapenning on my iphone 7 as well and i think it doesn't have anything to do with the phone but more with ios itself, and also why would it be a problem, literally who closes an app and then opens it immediately

2:44 this has been happening to me in my 8 Plus for the last 3 years or so, it only happens when you close an app and you want to open it nearly at the same time
XR is very far from XS, the only good thing about it is just the battery. However, if you check the battery test from various RU-vid techs, you'll see XR is just 30 mins longer and even XS Max is just 1 hour and few minutes longer than XS. This phone has been out for long, it's better to buy XS with premium feel, than buying XR. And honestly you are getting the same features as XS Max. It's not worth wasting extra money to get tte XS Max, since you basically have the same features and functions. If you want to complain about battery life, think about those who used iphone 6, 7, and even 8.
I have an iphone xs. Whenever I make a phone call with this phone, the person on the other end cannot hear me whatsoever. This is not a matter of being muffled, this is literally no sound at all. The only sound that comes through sometimes is a crackling noise, almost like ruffling a bag of chips or something. How can both of the microphones work perfectly fine but then completely not work only during phone calls?
Bro I got an xs which has a 100% battery health but the phone battery drop around 40% overnight without any use. And also an other issue I found is that I can't find the option for changing my video from 4k, HD, in the top right. I have to go to setting and manually change.
my xs max just slipped in my hand and the screen got random blacks and blue but it did not have any cracks inside and outside the screen and now it doesnt show any display but the touch is very responsive. i dont know how to fix it
