This is our day-trip to Gunung Lang Recreational Park, a hidden gem JUST 5 KMs from Ipoh City and about 3 hours from Kuala Lumpur! This [small but] stunning park has a beautiful little lake and gorgeous scenery that you can wander around in for hours.
Developed between 1999-2003 by the Ipoh City Council and the National Landscape Department, Gunung Lang was transformed from an old tin mine into this park with (I think) three artificial lakes, many walking trails, and Malaysia’s TALLEST artificial waterfall.
There is also a "petting zoo" but we didn't visit.
Opening Times:
Monday-Thursday: 8 AM-6 PM
Friday: 8 AM-12 PM, 3 PM-6 PM
Saturday/Sunday/Public Holidays: 8:30 AM-6 PM
Gunung Lang [for which the boat ride to the other side of the lake only costs 3RM!], is perfect for a family outing or a peaceful retreat in Malaysia.
