A majestic, epic composition by IQ... So much to discover on this track that it's almost overwhelming at first, then gradually everything falls into place and this song becomes compulsive listening! Thank you IQ for a superb double album! It's impossible not to listen to your complete album over and over again. 'Resistance' becomes more and more rewarding to listen to as it gradually reveals its many mysteries...
This has shaken my previously untouchable faith in IQ. I loved almost all their previous material (even the Menel albums), but this is a pale imitation of their best. I have never been so disappointed with an album when it arrived and after repeated listens it has not improved. The material is just substandard and even their marvellous playing can't rescue it.
You know at one point I didn’t really like it but after a few listens I got used to it and liked it more. If you keep listening to it you might appreciate it more. Even though it’s not as brilliant as the previous albums like ROB and Frequency, but after all it doesn’t matter that much in the end….
@@BradenMcClure-q6k I don't just call myself an IQ fan: I think the fact that I possess all their studio albums and a number of live DVDs suggests that I AM an IQ fan. But that doesn't mean I have to blindly love every album they make: I'm allowed to be critical, you know. And Resistance is not a great album in my view. I heard them play some of the tracks live at the Met in Bury before the album was released and I wasn't impressed. I'm pleased you like it. I think it's one of their worst albums.
This is good stuff but they need to let it rip. The songs I've heard have a great atmospheric feel but they start to drag. They need to add a heavier element that prog metal is known for. 7 out of 10 for me.
