Hard to believe I walked past this spot this morning on my walk with the dogs. That road has seen some serious tragedies . I walked down from there past where atleast one more landmine or car bomb happened I think it was a few peelers killed on that one then down the railway line past where the checkpoint was it got leveled by a railway bomb on board a van on down to where Cloughoge checkpoint was I remember a few bombs down at it aswell as a proxy one some poor sod was made drive it in and atleast 2 informers found within a few hundred yards of my front gate . Thank God its not happening any more

OMG that is so sad when innocent rugby players get caught up when there is a military operation taking place at that split second. They were military targets near the top of the British war machine history

It was his own screw-up that killed him and his wife and got innocent blokes injured. I went to work for the MoD at a navy weapons testing range in the 90s and even at 17 I was security vetted and told that terrorism and security was still an issue and was given, (as was everyone who worked for the MoD), instruction on security etc. I find it incredible that he booked through a travel agent in Belfast and used his own name and title……what the fuck was he thinking?? Incredibly stupid and ended up costing not only his life but his wife’s too. I hope the rugby fellas ended up being ok.

The IRA bombed this old couple . When they got taken out by SAS in Gibraltar on there way to bomb civilians they were up in arms claiming it’s unfair crying like baby’s .. called themselves soldiers 😂.
