In UPSC civil service mains exam there was genuine disable boy i seen. His health was so bad on that day that in between exam Ambulance needed to call. I can’t imagine that people such as pooja taking such person seat 😢

That will be tested by his profile, exam marks and interview performance. Not on the basis of the percentage of his suffering. And there are already many jobs they cant apply to. Like IPS, Police, Even IFS coz that requires travelling to other countries. Even Army Navy Airforce. But opportunity for exam and interview fairness should be for all.@@mikesheth5370

Basically, this Ira lady has been instructed by her senior or some minister to appear on media and pacify the situation. Tell your life story of hardships, say that not every IAS is a fraud, project that IAS officers work day and night to serve the country and common man, say how hard you studied to become an IAS and that it was your childhood dream to serve the country and similar bullshit. This is nothing more than a facade, a PR scene, carefully orchestrated to cool down the temperature. You will never see actual govt officials talking to media without instructions and approval from above.

As far as I know, IAS and IPS and also IFS don't require permission of government to appear before the media and they can also opine on various issues. However it must be rational and without any biases.

Ira Singhal is cleverly not getting adequately revolted / shocked/ dismayed by this Ms Khedkar's brazen gaming of the system. Along with her bureaucrat father and their antics and complicity too! And the damning thing is this is happening in the elite Civil Service selection system of India. Further Ms Khedkar wouldn't have been caught at all had she not overdone herself and deliberately made herself obnoxious and arrogant.

If she got admission in mbbs in 2007, then in 2022 Puja should be around 32-33 years old (assuming she entered mbbs at age of 17-18) Bhot locha hai bhai ye toh pure system ko mamu bna dala 😂

While Ms. Singhal says that only the exceptions are in news, you may note that this Pooja story first came to light only because of her OTT demands and then exposed her fraudulent ways. There could still be many lying low under the radar. It doesn’t hurt UPSC to come clean on other officers under scanner, including her room mate. If this issue is buried under the carpet, it will lead to drastic consequences in a nation with large unemployed youth.

Hi Rebecca! I had a terrible network so couldn't hear the question. But since you had asked so answering it here - I would say that in PWD Category mostly such cases do get found out and are removed/rejected from service. Also remember there is roughly 50% general category, where people get in without any benefits of reservation? And this case is highlighted, because people in the system highlighted it. Her Collector is the one who filed the complaint, if you notice. So if there are such fallacies, most officers at some level will try to point them out. Still there might be a few who do escape, one cannot deny that. However, these are rare. That is why this is such news. It is unfortunate that people are trying to abuse even this quota, shows their moral fibre. But thankfully this is rare and mostly, these do get highlighted. A lot of times silent actions are taken which you would not hear about in media, but they do happen. My one reassurance to you would be that do your best. There are genuine candidates being selected majority of times. Cases of misrepresentation and fraud are few and far between. You have a space and those of us inside, will try our best to keep the space for genuine candidates, like was done by the Collector here :) Good luck!

Common folks are killed in the streets, their murderers go scott free, middle class is taxed even on their severence checks, is this even a satire at this point? I lost my father, when I was 3. Not a single soul turned up to help my family, we rebuilt ourselves from scratch, and when I received an FD of my father's term insurance money, the government had graciously helped itself to 50k of the interest on the money that was left by my father to build up after such a tragedy. We need serious civil disobedience against all arms of government, else this country will not come to its senses. I'm tired of having to compete for a decent standard of living, and I firmly believe that this country was, is and shall perpetually remain a shithole banana republic.

If officers are pushed to break their barriers, then it will become even more tricky to recognise a disabled person on one look. What Puja did is clearly wrong but she took advantage of the benefit of doubt.

To begin with IFS was the first choice of candidates but I don't when it was relegated to 5th or 6 positions even for repeaters don't opt for. Out of the top 27 constitutional posts each year a lot of candidates repeat to get IAS after getting one of them,when thousands remain unemployed Government of India may stop that practice forth with and see that no IAS IPS IRS persons are deputed to helm public sector companies like Ongc,SAIL, FERTILIZER AND CHEMICAL etc. The IAS is no match for technocrats.They may be restricted in state secretariat and central secretariat posting so their urge for IAS may stop.

How can anyone criticise another for defending someone who they know is being wrongfully accused. Was she driving on the road? There could be a million interpretations while the truth being only one. Let us not be too quick to judge. The person is under investigation and everything would sort out right. It is so refreshing and satisfying to see an eminent anchor of a national news channel, spearheading this campaign against rampant corruption in selection of IAS/IPS officers, by making use of fake certificates of EWS or different types physical disability etc. . Kudos to you Mr. Shiv. Please continue this crusade against corruption till the whole issue is suitably addressed by the present Modi govt., which claims to be very harsh on any matter of corruption. All officers employed presently in govt. and selected on the basis of such quota, should be investigated thoroughly, irrespective of their present post. Those who have used the provision of the reservation genuinely, need not fear such investigation at all, as they will come out clear in the investigation. In fact, such genuine officers and prospective candidates should come out openly against such fake candidates, as they are cornering the legitimate seats of the people who need the most. Many RU-vid channels have put up the details of such fake candidates openly, with their names and how they got the fake certificates with connivance of corrupted officials and politicians. All such names should also be pursued by this channel, after verifying the details.

Wrong. The checking of documents must happen before appointment letter is issued. During the probation, they check whether the officer is suitable for the job or not. Does he or she gets involved in some wrong activities. That's it

Irony is that who advise or give suggetion to this candidates for doing such fraud way out steps its always SYSTEM INSIDER eg. if you want admission in particular college but unfortunately it was rejected then go to the clerk or peon he will tell you management seat hai aap principal se milo aur 25000/-bharo admission ho jayega nahi to handicap quota me seat available hai uske liye baju ke hospital se certificate lo aur de do & really it works people get admission in same college & thats the moral of story.

It is unfortunate that the elite service has been undermined and has been brought to disrepute ! In my personal opinion, no individual even if topper, should not be selected for both IAS and IPS. These personnel can be allotted IRS, IES, IDAS and other allied services.
