+Sup Mainly in surrounding areas. iRacing and AC were both provided track scan data, but iRacing went back and scanned the surrounding areas (afaik)

+Hugo Stiglitz Not the same as I saw. I think both are very good made. But in some corners the angle of the horizontal bending is different. Don't know what is more like real life but A.C. looks more like a landscape flow.

Kevin Falk Hugo Stiglitz There is confirmation that some bumps are softened in the AC version when testing, overall BridgetoGantry even states that the Feel in iRacing is "closer to realism" in terms of the track itself. *shrug* It's definitely noticeable.

Kevin Falk Nope. Don't forget the FOV is different in this video and the sims in general. You couldn't replicate iracing's FOV in AC if you tried. They're different

Trees stand out positively in Assetto, while track textures (as usual) are fantastic in iRacing. In terms of what matters (the track geometry), looks extremely close!

+kkgrandi The geometry is identical. They both use laser scanning that is accurate to within a millimeter so neither will be more accurate than the other as far as the track goes but I think iracing scans more of the surroundings besides the track so I'd say iracing is more accurate.

Very close and in terms of the track I would say they're identical. But as much as I love AC I have to admit, that iRacing just got the surroundings more authentical. Fences, what's behind them etc. It feels much more like being on the real thing. It's impressive how much attention to detail they spent here. For example approaching Flugplatz where you can even see the street that's going below the race track. Or when entering and leaving Aremberg where you can really see the fields surrounding the track. But they did miss some spots: At Hohe Acht the paths going away from the track are more like the real ones in iRacing BUT they "forgot" the little shed. Also between Wippermann and Eschbach they got the trees wrong. There's a pair of firs I'm used to aim at while approaching the crest - I mean when driving the real Nordschleife. They are missing in iRacing but exist in AC.

Both look absolutely fantastic. The main difference is that AC is €30 (got it €15, half the price in a Steam sales offer) and IIRC the Nordschleife DLC must be something like €10 (lots of other cars are included in that Dream Pack DLC). Again I got it at €5 only. On the other hand iRacing is something like $11/month plus $12 for just one car plus $15 for that track, and you don't even own this stuff, as soon as the membership expires you're done. And these are US prices, I haven't included EU VAT yet which is something like +20-25% and is applied everywhere. Is this bloody expensive and ridiculous or what? I've been playing iRacing for a few weeks now, bcz I got a free 3-month subscription. But as soon as it expires, I'm back to AC.

I never played iRacing. But I must admit that it is better lighting, Assetto Corsa is too dark. Maybe it's because you did not choose the same time each day in both.

Si consideraba los circuitos de Kunos "muertos" en cuanto a vida exterior, lo de iRacing se supera, no hay ni un ser vivo en los alrededores, ni un coche de asistencia... nada. Una pena, pues el cariño que le han dado al asfalto es insuperable, una lectura cuanto menos agradable ¡de no ser por que vamos a quizá demasiada velocidad para ponernos a leer! Grandísimo vídeo. Me quedo con el realismo general de Assetto, y el asfalto de iRacing.

+ Gorkal1ty I agree, graffiti seem to repeat around the track from what I noticed, but I do prefer the color of asphalt in iRacing as well as the shade of green overall is more pleasant to the eyes in this video at least.

Los dos compraron el escaneo a la misma empresa por lo que el 3D es el mismo. En cuanto a color: AC parece más real porque se ve como en una cámara de video (por el contraste) iracing a como ve el ojo humano (sin tanto contraste entre sombras y zonas iluminadas) por lo que cansa menos la vista. Los dos son excelentes

Should have put the same time for both the simulators. IR lightning looks better because of the sun very low, but AC wouldn't look so cold compared to IR if the time was set at the sunset.

Both versions are good when it comes to accuracy, but in my opinion, the color palette of iRacing is more natural than the AC's one, AC look to blueish.

Tough call, they both look awesome, both have certain aspects that I feel make them appear more/less realistic, iRacing seems to have a higher level gama setting, making it appear lighter, but I know A/C can be set to different filters achieving the same look. Ya know what, guess I need to head over to the Nordschleife myself with this video and compare it directly with the real thing while my wife drives!

Graphically they look similar. iracing better in some areas, AC better in others. What I haven't seen mentioned much of is how the tracks feel when driving them. Iracing is hands down the winner. I use a Simucube OSW with a 10K PPR encoder and the amount of road data, feel and fidelity compared to AC is apples and oranges. It's one thing to have a laser scanned track, but it's another thing to reproduce the intricate psychics details from the road surface and how that actual real life car interprets them. It's just a simple fact that there's much less feel on most consumer level wheels that use belts driven by a motor (TX, Fanatec etc), where the hardware simply can't compete with direct drive servo motorsAC is a game in comparison when driven using a quality DD wheel.But they both do look great so for most it's a choice between 24/7 competitive multiplayer racing on virtually lagless servers across a wide range of real life track cars, or doing league type races or solo/career driving. Again, apples and oranges....

amazingly enough, iRacing lightning is very natural and more realistic than AC's. More reds (and yellow), less blueish. The textures in AC looks more high res though.

+wedge ► I don't know. Iracing's lighting is so dated it's hard to say it's more realistic but I guess it kind of looks less like a video game in a way. The details on AC like the models and everything look more realistic though so it's hard to say which looks more realistic but iracing seems to be more accurate overall. I'm sure the tracks are identical but the graffiti and tree placement seems more on point in iracing.

+wedge ► IRacing is defenitly brighter in this vid but you can use sweetFX and make AC just like this as well. Altough IR has more reflection effects, essentially noticable on the road textures , it doesn't affect the color contrast overall too much IMO. Which is great and makes it almost natural. Iam pleasantly surprised here and I agree, as this vid allows to judge, that IRacing looks very realistic.

Both tracks seem to be true to their laser scanning. For me it comes down to how the cars feel. My preference for overall driving enjoyment is A/C over Iracing. Without having driven the Iracing version yet, I'd have assume that the cars feel the same as before, so having this track won't change much in my opinion. I enjoy Iracing,I just prefer the physics and driving dynamics of A/C more. Both versions look great though.

+CCL71 I feel the same, although i still dont drive AC, i drive rF2 mostly. Now and then fire up AC, but im straight away hit by the same issue over and over. Not being able to set steering geometry ratio means i get constant understeer issues and loose interest. rF2 i can set and it makes it feel true to what i expect as a former real world racer. AC need to allow steering ratio changes as real cars you can change it to suit your needs. Ac cars also feel too lazy, not alive enough. iRacing does look like they come on heaps in recent months, but the lack of feel and the high cost keep me away. Lack of feel means a frustrating experience for me. Now if only iRacing could fix the cost issue and the penalty system getting punished when someone else is at fault, i might consider trying again...it sure is looking pretty these days though!

Not trying to start a discussion over what's better etc, since I equally play them both for own reasons.. But the force feedback physics is so much better in iRacing, in my opinion.. Never am I losing control because lack of forces, since iRacing output them instantly and in a good manner.. In AC I often slip, because the feedback is not accurate.. Also in iRacing, the sound of tyre sound transitioning from rolling to screeching is really good.. In AC it sounds like an old james bond movie. It's very off putting.. That's why I like iRacing in terms of physics better.. But I do play AC even more, because of it's ease of access, and it DOES have good physics also :)

Ayer con el Z4 disfrute mucho pero esos pianos tienen miga de la buena , pero dicen que si ruedas en este circuito sales diciendo que disfrutaste rodando en el, es que no fuiste al límite. Look again and Focus on the shadows. iracings shadows are wrong all of the Time sometimes the trees from the right are making shadows and then suddenly 100m later on a Straight the trees from the left are making shadows well a realtime lightning engine does have some major positives :D also you can Make ac look way more better with the right setting in terms of color, dont know what you did there But use some sepia themed pp filter and IT will look just like iracing grafitties are better in iracing tho

I'm gonna say Assetto Corsa over Iracing. Reason why the Graphics is better, on Assetto Corsa has Free Tracks Mod as well as with cars with Lambo one of my favorites and F1. Iracing you have to buy every single Cars and Tracks that are over $10 each. Not my way of Racing. I choose Assetto over Iracing. No monthly payments either.

Iracing gets the nod imo. The amount of detail is amazing! I always thought A/C had better fx but Iracing nailed it on this one, from the graffiti on the track to the rolling hills in the background you get a real sense of being in the car at that track. Personally I think it makes A/C look like a videogame.

Idk about you guys, i gave a shot to iRacing, was so much better in term of lap time. Was wondering why. AC was punishing me more for little mistakes than iRacing did. But learned more from AC. Indeed people preefer iRacing for competitive style of play, but everything else in my opinion.. AC is the one.

Its close but you can see that the physics on iracing are slightly more advanced the way the car moves into the corners even just little things I notice but I will say the car sounds better in assetto corsa but man assetto corsa is holding its own

Can you do a comparison to GT6, and maybe GTR Evo's old version? Maybe Snoopy's version in rF2? I know GT6 has the best non laser scanned version but I'm curious how it compares graffiti wise. Also, definitely do a pCars comparison as well. pCars is probably the prettiest version but not the most accurate.

Thanks for this great video DigiProst. Could you tell me what is the sim you feel better ? Asseto Corsa or iRacing ? Personnaly, I'm playing Raceroom and Asseto Corsa. My Wheel is a t500rs+th8A+458 GTE Pro Wheel. I'm playing too Project cars and rFactor 2 (and 1, of course). I feel rFactor 2 is the best of all the race sims mentioned above. What do you say ? I'm very interesting by your opinion because I suscribed and I like very much your race videos. Thanx again for your hard work, keep up the good work. Bonjour de Paris ;)

+Khaos Aurae (Worghern) AC for sure. Iracing is the best for a lot of things but feel isn't one of them. They really need to improve the FFB because it feels lightyears behind AC and rF2 in some cars. pCars and R3E also have better FFB. Iracing may have the best physics but the FFB is so bad it feels like crap anyways.

+Matthew Skipper Yes they do. The laser scan only gives you a point cloud. They need to texture everything regardless. Assetto Corsa have also scanned the ring.

So they didn't do what they do at every other track with their laser scanner section by section? why would they call it an iRacing track if they skipped that.

donutdude42 Yes, they did exactly what they always do, section by section. In 0% of the cases where a track is laser scanned is the physical appearence of the track scanned. You have completely misunderstood what laser scanning means. When you scan a piece of paper in a printer you get an exact copy. This is not the same thing. They scan the track to get all the bumps and elevation changes correct. They still need to "paint" it by applying texture. Look at 3d printing. You can color the 3d model all you want but the 3d printer is not going to give you a coloured result. It's just going to be a solid piece of plastic. Because that's not the reason you 3d print something and not how it works.

Yes, iRacing crushes it out of the park. For basically $30 for the extended version, it should. I like both of these and the Project Cars version. Would have liked to get a better indicator of which sound we were listening to. The concrete warning strips sound on the iRacing is great. I can't wait to feel it thru the wheel and Buttkicker2. :)

Security at this track must be crap. Locals are making their art on track all the time. Which is a good thing, looks cooller this way and more visual cues. Maybe some tracks should add graffity on purpose but... They wont :(

ok there are too many Racing Sims I can't choose whichever one. now of I'm getting GT Sport because I'm a GT fan. Now as far as PC I cannot choose because they all have their ups and downs Project Cars, Assetto Corsa, iRacing, Rfactor idk which to get. I want the one that is most fun, excellent multiplayer, best graphics, plays nice with Nvidia Single and/or dual GPS setups (no amd!) with the ability to do very high frame rates, great selection or cars and single player events, and has great support with wheels and force-feedback.

Assetto should upgrade the lightning and color from cold to warm. But its not nice to pay every month for a racing game like iracing. atleast Asetto is not a rip off. a one time payment

Los dos geniales, pero de quedarme con uno es con Assetto, los colores son mas vivos, no se a que horas has rodado los dos videos, pero assetto parece tener mas calidad en las sombras.

I have tested iRacing and GTR FIA GT Racing Game, both really good simulators (the best), I prefer iRacing because has American tracks, but I must test Asseto Corso, but I don't think that Assetto will be better than iRacing (talking about simulation, not about graphics).

Soy jugador de assetto corsa, pero debo decir que los mapas en !racing son mas currados y a escala mas parecida con la realidad. Aun así, no justifica el hecho de pagar por ellos. Respecto el asfalto, bueno, el de racing parece mejor pero al final, en assetto puedes contar con los mods.

iRacing looks more natural, more authentic, although it has an old engine and only Dx9. Nordschleife is also more detailed with more natural colors. Look at the fences in iRacing and the track surface. Everything is more detailed. iRacing will always have the best online competition and with all those things like dynamic track surface and rubber build up, Dx11 the next months it will be unbeatable. It already is.

I prefer iRacing's version but love them both. The road surface and texture quality and shaders seem more natural in iRacing, I also prefer the physics in iRacing so its a complete package to me.

Roman Galda iR physic = Dale Earnheart jr The tires feel like glass. iR price/renting = Steve Myers Because we will be adding the merz and Audi gt3, i Zombies who bought the ruf and Ford gt3 will be left out from any gt3 series and also iR old aged engine only support 5 car limit.I mean you guys are really panzies. you dont own anything. Now the poor ruf and ford guys gonna RENT for the new Merz or Audi for curiosity sake.Seem like there is no end for this iRenting cycle mode.

He tenido la suerte de poder rodar en el circuito varias veces y creo que el assetto refleja muy bien el tema de baches y arboles mientras que iracing refleja mejor lo que significa ese circuito ya que en assetto le faltan muchas pintadas en el asfalto. También decir que iracing lo tiene por un motivo claro: Las resistencias mientras que Kunos lo ha sacado por sacar sin tener en mente este aspecto ya que 24 coches es muy aburrido en el assetto en un circuito tan largo. Conclusion: Iracing sabe lo que hace y eso sin ser un circuito 10

I was thinking of buying IR but after this video I'll stay with AC that I already own. IR doesn't worth it if you already have AC imo. But, if you don't have anything, it could be a though choice, don't forget DX11 is coming to IR soon...

Both look good, I'm not a fan of iracing, subbed for 3 months after about 2 years nothing had changed, no I wasn't going to blow a wedge on extra tracks. Project cars is good, great force feedback, better than either iracing or Assetto.

hard to compare when it's a different time of day and as I suspect the track in AC was laser scanned in a different month. the AC Nords has more overgrown vegetation. Both are wholly realistic. An interesting comparison would be an identical car model seeing if you could duplicate the setup in each, and what lap times you'd get :-)

iRacing feels more "warm" toned, while Assetto Corsa more "cold" toned. Less Graffiti on AC but I read they "copied/pasted" same graffiti? Doh! Really?!

on track: iRacing. off track scenery: about 70/30 assetto corsa. their trees are far better Looking, but I think the offtrack buildings ect were done a little better by iRacing.

There is no comparison of these 2 games. I have both.. on a good PC iRacing blows AC out of the water. Especially on this track now. AC is like driving a minivan on a flat straight smooth road when you are driving a racing car around a track. It's pathetic and not to be compared. The physics of everything and the new noises in iRacing are much better.

If you want competition then go for iRacing without a doubt, otherwise I'd say go for Assetto Corsa since it's much cheaper and the graphics are prettier.

Not really, no. If your skill level makes you 1 to 4th in AC races generally, you will be in the top 3 in iRacing races (at least in lower car classes). The skill level is NOT higher, that‘s a myth argued by iRacing subscribers to justify their expenses (and I say this as a regular iRacing subscriber). Race discipline though is at least overall a bit better in iRacing. Graphic wise -> the video is misleading, iRacing is much worse in track detail/visualisation as well as car detail. No comparison to other current titles like Pcars2 and AC. But that‘s a thing I do not reall care.

Por lo visto el escaneado 3D lo hace una empresa subcontratada por el circuito en si Y ES EL MISMO PARA TODOS LOS JUEGOS. Luego pueden tocar lo que quieran, claro está, pero cuando compras la licencia para meter el Nordschleife basicamente te dicen que vayas a una empresa especializada en el tema que es la que tiene el escaneado hecho y pagues. Y al parecer eso incluye las fotos que se usan para hacer las texturas del asfalto.

Iracing hizo pago su propio escaneado con los derechos digitales de su version. es por eso que exiten pequeñas diferencias entre las dos versiones.

T04ST Y yeah surface-wise they're identical. i personally prefer the iracing version (it looks nicer especially the lighting, and the fact that there's a better car selection always helps) but functionally they're the same track
