In this episode of my iran trip series we visited Niavaran palace, where the iranian king used to live before islamic revolution in 1979. We really enjoyed our time and I hope you also enjoy watching this video.

Adding those dance numbers to the end of the video was a nice idea. The palace itself is really lovely.

Wow 😱...The Shah's Palace is so beautiful and the environment is well maintained. The Greenery is second to none...this might one of the most beautiful palace in the world.

It's one of my favorite places, very green and since it's close to mountains the air is super fresh. Thanks for watching :)

Fabulous Ana. Absolutely fabulous. It was the gardens for me and the carpet showing the history of the Royal family. The complex is so well thought out. You're going to boost tourism to Iran.

My favorite part of the Shah's palace is the garden. So peaceful. By the way, the Azeri dances were great.

I didn’t realize that the Islamic Republic kept the Shah’s palace as a tourist attraction. Seems they were smart that way to profit from the Shah’s demise but also preserving the country’s history. I’m assuming there is a fee to tour the palace. If not it’s still wise to preserve and share that history.

Yes, I mean there were some damages at first since the revolutionists raided the palace but 10 years after revolution they reopened it as a museum for people to see how the king was once living! And yes there’s an entry fee you need to pay, it was around 10$ for foreigners

They try to portray it as anti-Pahlavi propaganda. Still, it has the opposite effect as generally, most Iranians see the culture and good taste of the former monarchy as well as some restraint in their lifestyles as compared to the current regime. Furthermore, all of the monuments and museums that were commissioned and improved by the Palahvis are the most important today. There is tourism because of the improvements and infrastructure, education and promotion during the 1960s''s and 70s and goodwill created especially by the Shahbanou which continues to this day!

Thank you so much and Eid Mubarak. I still remember to this day, the morning Shah left Tehran. The 3 people who informed Ayatollah Khomeini end up having different end during and after the revolution. I am talking about Abolhassan Banisadr, one of the relatives of my girlfriend, the late Sadegh Ghotbzadeh and Dr. Ibrahim Yazdi. I have mixed feelings to this day about the Iranian revolution, but all revolutions are messy. I am left though with one question always in my mind. Had Ayatollah Mahmoud Taleghani not died of heart attack few months after Khomeini returned to Tehran, l wonder if l khalkhali would have had free hand to kill so many, what would have happened to Ayatollah Mohammad Kazem Shariatmadari, Ayatollahs Hussein-Ali Montazeri and the junior clerk Mohammad Beheshti. Even Mohammad-Javad Bahonar and Mohammad-Ali Rajai, will all these people be prominent in their own right without the backing of Ayatollahs Khomeini? Merci et que Dieu béni l’Iran et son peuple extrêmement généreux. Bless you both.

Wow Youssef you have really good knowledge about iran’s history. I think whether all these great people lived or passed away when they did , it still would have been what it is today since every revolution as you said is messy. Also the war and sanctions really made it difficult . I’m not really good with politics, I just can say I always wish Iran gets to where it deserves to be.

@@Anaieta you are absolutely right about the sanctions and the entire world ganging up on Iran during Sadam Hussein agression against Iran. Places l wanted to visit like Abadan and Dizful, reduced to complete ruined. lThat left me very bitter against Iraq to this day. Iran and the entire history of Persia, they never waged war of agression again nobody, it never happened. May Allah Almighty, bless you and the good people of Iran. Iranian are the nicest people l have ever met in my life.
