Iran President Ebrahim Raisi Dies in Helicopter Crash
Iran President Ebrahim Raisi has died in a helicopter crash. “No survivors” have been found after Iran President’s helicopter crashed on May 19. His helicopter suffered a "hard landing" due to bad weather while he was travelling in Iran’s East Azerbaijan province. Iran’s Foreign Minister and East Azerbaijan's Governor were among nine passengers aboard Raisi's helicopter. Iran President Raisi's convoy reportedly had three helicopters, and the other two had "reached their destination safely". Raisi was in Azerbaijan before the crash to inaugurate a dam. Reports suggest 73 teams are carrying out search and rescue operations at the crash site. Raisi became Iran's President in 2021. Watch our video for the latest updates.
