So worth it! I have a 96 F250 7.3L with 407k on it. I've owned it since 99, it's mostly stock, and it's in very good condition. I just finished doing the Irate Diesel pump, the Hydra chip, 2 bean's diesel sumps, and the F26E 38gal bronco tank swap. With the sumps the pump hardly works and its very quiet unlike with the draw straw sending units that made the pump scream. In the chips fuel sipper mode I was getting 23mpg average over a 1200+ mile trip at a 68mph cruising speed. (My truck has always gotten great fuel mileage, but not that consistent). I went from Florida to North Carolina, drove around a week, then drove back on one fill up. If course it cost me $320 to fill it.. but it was awesome.
That’s awesome! My truck on average gets 13-15mpg. When you are driving 70 what RPM are you at? Or do you have any ideas on how to get better fuel mileage
@@skylarwagner1155 I'm running about 1600rpms at 68mph. My truck is stock except for the air intake, exhaust, and fuel pump. I've run Lucas oil fuel conditioner and Howe's anti-coag in every tank for 15 years. It's been meticulously maintained. Ball joints, brakes, u-joints, bearings, fluids and filters, tires, etc all maintenanced and changed immediately upon wear or mileage. I also keep a ridgid bed cover I built on it whenever I don't need the bed, especially on the long trips. That's it. I know I get better than average mpg but I always have. I have my hot rods and motorcycles if I want to go fast so I do drive this like an old lady. No rolling coal for me. It's all about fuel mileage with this truck.
which valve did you source? currently doing the Irate competition system on my truck and so far my only option is to run 3 selector valves in parallel to achieve desired flow to my fuel lab pump
Nice work man. You gonna do a hpop and injectors soon? And these trucks like to eat belts. Idk if you have read or been told about the tensioner problem. But there is a update from ford, they say to use a superduty tensioner. Blowing diesel has good videos on it. Make sure to watch both videos tho!
Thank you! I’m going to stick with just this upgrade for now, I just wanted to stop the diesel leak. The next thing I’m going to do is fix the new bed I got and then repaint the truck. I have not hear of that, but thank you for letting me know I’ll look into it.
