Since all versions of Windows pre-XP are authenticated entirely locally, as long as you have some sort of working key for it, the OS will accept it, no questions asked. This is why WinWorld has full (and legal) versions of every single Windows OS until XP and later.

@@supervitu64 that's how windows works normally. Turn on "show hidden files" and cut a few files, the same thing happens. Explorer is like Excel in that cut items don't get removed until they are pasted someplace.
