Australia is too far from the rest of the world, when you think of Europe and United States. I wish it was only a 2 hour flight away, and no longer than that.
Australia is far better. Better weather, better lifestyle, better food, higher wages, more multicultural etc. Ireland has better pub culture but that's about it. Theres a reason why Australia is a magnet for Irish migrants and not the other way around. Australia can also handle a global pandemic unlike the disaster in Ireland.
Having lived in Australia for many years (Queensland, Melbourne, Sydney, Perth) it was a wonderful experience! I am now back home in Ireland since 2011 and now have a much greater love and appreciation of my beautiful country of birth! I never got used to the blazing Summer heat, everything was sooo expensive in Australia but the wages was good .... there it kinda balances out a little when you think that the wages in Ireland is lower but so is the cost of living (way cheaper than Australia)! With regard to scenery .... Australia has beautiful beaches but the beaches in Ireland are equally as beautiful and we are not roasted to death lol. When I returned to Ireland I was in awe as to how green and beautiful our country is ..... I had forgotten that - having gotten used to the red dusty roads of the outback and the melting tar on the motorways of Australia! I thoroughly enjoyed my time in Australia but it sure is good to be back in my Beautiful Ireland! Ireland is equally as multicultural as Australia ... you must learn your geography mate - Ireland has a population of 4.9 million people as opposed to 25 million (or thereabouts) in Australia! We are a very small island and a thriving and very much loved country all over the world! With regard to handling a global pandemic .... we're doing extremely well and are very proud of our progress! Not that many people moving to Australia to live permanently ..... like me .... can't say I blame them - I got sick and tired of your everyday (same old same old) BBQ shit LOL! Come to Ireland and learn what good food is ..... in fact (as you more than likely know) Ireland is renowned for its beauty, brilliant banter and the friendliest people in the World and World Class Cuisine! Sorry but Ireland is nowhere near as multicultural as Australia. Ireland is 92% White, Australia is 76% White. I could never live with rain and dreary skies for most of the year, Australia is geographically very diverse with tropical weather up north and milder weather down south so you can't go wrong wherever you go. Australia is more than just BBQ's buddy, better than Irish stew and potatoes lol. It's extremely hard to find quality Asian food in Ireland whereas it's so easily accessible in Australia, same goes for fresh fruit produce. Ireland imports fresh fruit, at least Australia grows their own. Coffee is also much better in Australia. Actually many people do move permanently. The Irish immigrant population has been growing rather than declining. I don't know many Aussies who move or would move to Ireland permanently, it just doesn't really appeal to many people. Ireland has been a disaster in regards to the pandemic: 219k cases and 4,300 deaths compared to just 28k cases and 900 deaths in Australia. Nice craic you got going there, DON'T GET WET IN THE RAIN!! @@pauline8987 is their actually a difference in the feel of the air? I heard that Ireland has cleaner fresher air compared to Australia which feels dry and muggy and hard to breathe to the irish lol
