There is means test also if someone exceeds this income threshould and still want medical card. If you have any major illness or been hospitalized in past you can also apply through means test and get the card. You have sufficient documents to prove that you have been hospitalized or have been frequently visiting GP in Ireland.

That is correct. For new people arriving in Ireland, specifically income is main reason, that can rejects many application other than the medical condition.

Can you provide more details for medical coard/facility for people who earn above the limit you stated, are they not eligible or buy private insurance.

We are Germans and thinking of moving to Ireland, Our Parents are from Pakistan and will move to Ireland and get stamp4EUFAM. Can they both get medical card? they would not work and will live with us as old parents. Thanks

@@IndianPaddyYes this part i get it, but doing means test, will it be calculated based on my income or theirs? since they have no income or savings, so they should be getting it right? just wanted to confirm that it is the case and not that since they are my dependents hence I should provide them private insurance instead
