Yes a robbing government. 3 taoishachs. 2 ministers for finance. 2 ministers for defence. Super junior ministers.for everything more interested in housing people from 1000s of miles away than their own people. Yet nobody in charge. Probably the worst form of government since the foundation of the state. The EU is more important to the leaders than the population at home
when are you going to investigate why we have the highest cost of living crisis in Europe instead of having a laugh about it while people are suffering. call yourselves journalists?????
It’s called slapping it on . And the best of um all sit in Lenister house. Having ton’s and tons of houses and sitting tenets pay through the nose, while the rest of us pay a whopping 82% taxes. This includes all the hidden taxes as well as GREEN taxes or fresh air taxes. Great little green country, aren’t we ?
I grew up being taught a deluded account of history in school. The 'Brits' were to blame for everything but now we were an independent country.. We simply have new masters, the EU, Chinese & German banks, the WEF..
There was a cost-of-living protest at the Garden of remembrance last Saturday and there was only about 500 people at it. It’s our own fault for putting up with it
Current Inflation is being driven up mostly by fuel prices, If we switch to Nuclear power and give greater incentives to buy electric cars (including subsidising and prioritising lithium battery production) this problem will subside substantially over time. Also, many countries are going for the practical short term measures of taxing fossil fuel company profits to discourage extortionate profiteering! Overall though, Society’s rejection of Nuclear power was a massive mistake, and the environment has payed dearly for it as we continue to rely on fossil fuels for our electricity!!
People continue yo elect the same clowns from all parties There are 166 TDs ("MP," equivalent)who collected € 25 million in tax free xpenses in one year .Go Figure
People are entitled to pay rises because the top paid civil servants recently got a 15% pay rise which is twice as high as our spirally inflation. The reason these judges and overpaid pen pushers got such an enormous pay rise atop their grotesquely high salaries is because their pay is linked to politicians pay and of course politicians don`t skimp when it comes to giving themselves pay rises. You will also hear politicians bleat on about what a wonderful job the judges and hospital consultants are doing because when they get a pay rise, the politicians are in line to get a similar pay rise. In the interests of transparency, the politician`s pay should be adjusted at the same time as the judges and consultants.
When you cant sell anything because no one has the money you will reduce your prices or go out of business. Basic economics really. In Denmark you actually get a decent public transport service.
Successful societies are expensive , Ireland is not a poor country , too many people living in the past . no significant water charges, no significant property taxes......all those running off to Canada/Australia will soon realise the grass isn't greener..
Eire is a total rip off. 52% tax I pay and get zero public services for it. Mass immigration is also a huge huge issue. People are peed off with so many people coming here. Massive problem for Irish people.
This country we make nothing we grow so little and we depend on it all coming in and we,are paying the price for bad infrastructure robbing government getting nothing g for our taxes we need to change them
Hilarious seeing this kind of issue discussed on the most capitalist channel possible, but interesting it breaks up, before they even get to go into the depths. Msm working for the greatest criminals! 😡
I paid cash for my house and car. I saved my money made smart choices in life. People need to stop complaining and leave the country and let people in that can afford to live in Ireland.🙂
Food in supermarkets is still much more affordable than most European countries. And salaries are much higher. Entre level position is easily 30.000euros a year. First GDP in the EU too. And taxes are much lower than any other country in the EU
Well that just untrue, taxes are above average, salaries are above average however once one factors in expenditure then we're left with discretionary income and we might rank above average on that I'm unsure tbh, lastly Ireland's GDP is inflated and it's not the highest per Capita in the EU.
Yes, ok, we have become an expensive country, but please don't forget what the government have done for us. We are modern. We are progressive. We are European. We are inclusive. We are compassionate. We are equality and outward looking. Ok, it's expensive to live here, but look at the massive progress on social issues in modern Ireland, it's incredibly vibrant and diverse.
You've got kids eating their dinners off bits of cardboard on the streets of our capital city, where's the equality? A woman just recently had to wait over 5 days on a trolley in an A&E department in one of our 'modern' hospitals. A woman who's 17 year old son who she was caring for just died, and in the days after the government sent her a letter demanding she pay back 200€ ofher dead son's last payment, very 'compassionate' indeed. You haven't got a clue
Ya and babies are pulled from their safe place. Great progress all right out culture being destroyed. And don’t get me started on the green progress progressiveness into oblivion , whist At the same time a person can’t walk in our capital cities without be set upon by gangs of foreign Youths looking for money. Ya very Progressive indeed
The Government didnt do these things, highest courts in EU forced our hand on some of these, luckily because we are a well travelled race our people helped us become all these things, successive governments dragged their heels on these topics, afraid of the clergy,Government have helped destroy alot of our very fabric of society though. We are being ripped off to pay for very bad policy making, simple as.The media is very guilty in all of this as well.
