2023 and I woke up this morning needing to hear this performance, specifically from Irene. She understands perfectly the esence of this music, catching the nerve
Eleven years later still one of the best interpretations of this polonaise (my favourite). Only for this she would have deserved to be in the final, and perhaps among the best three.
I'm blown away by most of her interpretations in this competition. They are so dynamic and alive--really just hits the spot musically. Surprised I haven't heard of her sooner.
Gosh the phrasing and emphasis on subtle dynamic and tempo shifts is very present here! What a creative approach to the piece. The couple stumbles does not detract from that at all.
Very nice performance! Powerful and strong from beginning to end! Am struggling to tackle this piece myself, just to say this one is difficult is a horrific understatement. Especially the vast array of trills and arpeggiated 10ths. Chopin how were you so brilliant!? Lol would have loved to have seen his creative process whilst producing this and his other polonaise's. Wow! what a spectacle looking forward to watching more of your performances!
First of all, she is beautiful as a princess. I kept shivering through all the interpretation, and it shows how emotional she can be, simply marvellous because of that. About her style, I like how she respects and emphasizes the bass notes, for me, it's what must shine in this piece especially (I've heard it more than 200 times). Although, she is not só atencive for the high notes, but, after the stumble at 5:30, she concentrated for good and achieve deep emotional level. I rate emotion 10/10, and thecnic 8,5/10. Surely she will be on my radar for search.
È una bella interpretazione, sono indeciso sulla sua e su quella di Anna Fedorova, perché Fedorova sembra ci abbia messo più energia nella prima parte e mi piaceva propio per quello
