this, Galaxy Express 999, Green Legend Ran, and Armitage were the coolest to me. I recorded these all on VHS tapes back then, i ran those into the ground lol. Thanks for the Nostalgia.
@Jetsetradio Mine too man. Before seeing this, I thought all anime was crap. After this, I realized I'd been a fool. When the girl shouts at the end, "I love you Iria!" I can't help but tear up a little. It wasn't just the first of several animes I ever enjoyed, but a growth experience for me in open mindedness and humility. Thanks, Iria. And thanks to the Sci-Fi channel who showed this all in one go, late one night. Seeing this again really makes me wish there was more Iria.
WOW, that really takes me back! It has been so long since I last seen this anime - around mid- to late-'90s - that I nearly forgot about it! I cant wait for Bennett the Sage to review this one on Anime Abandon.
@@WilL-eo5cz lol I forgot I posted this. Oh yeah! I was hoping that, at the time, Bennett would review it at some point to give it more exposure. While not amazing, it was a fairly decent title with an cool-looking backdrop, and when it came out in the states back in the '90s the bounty huntress Iria was seen all over anime-fan circles.
soo many good memories seeing this. some of the most interesting and creative character design in my opinion. i always loved when it plays in reverse =)
Watched this on the Sci-Fi Channel as a kid, along with Project A-Ko, Dominion Tank Police, the 8-Man OVA and some other stuff. Good times, and catchy as hell intro song.
Isnt this like a wild opening to stumble onto if this is your first anime, like lowkey its incredibly unqiue visually and sonically, and like compare this to shit now i think vibes on anime are all sorts of shit, this kinda thing is unique
@MrTubifexTubifex It does actually have a lot of cyberpunk style to it [kind of a grungy, dystopian, dirty future], though it's quite different enough not to be. It's quite unique stylistically, in my opinion.
what was that, saturday or sunday mornings right? the sci-fi channel turned me on to anime. that's where i first got to see akira. they showed some really good stuff, stuff you wouldn't normally get to see
Hey does anyone remember this anime where some young boy is stuck living on a planet with a few other people... I remember in particular a female (think she was a kitty) who was infactuated with the young man... they lived near a HUGE tree or soemthing... but the story was based on an isolated planet, very green (I think) in space... I think it aired on adult swim... hit me back please.

I've never seen Gall Force but I've also watched such movies as Casshan: Robot Hunter, Venus Wars, Vampire Hunter D, Project A-KO, Tank Police, and some anime with a dude named Mystere or whatever (don't even know if I spelled his name right, lol...someone help me if you know what that was).
i didint have cable untill the late 2k's, but i remember watching the trailer for it in a suncoast one day..... i was very interested, now it didint deliver everything i was expecting but I did enjoy the designs, setting, and plot.... the animation is good not stellar but not super great, it just runs a little slow at times. but it reminded me of traditional cell animation, when the rest of the world was and is going for 3d/digital.... sad really.
