Welcome back to Ellaful Deco! Today, we're going to create some cool, iridescent effect in resin with iridescent film. Think like mylar flakes, but the entire tray and a very smooth looking finish. This is a small experiment that will open up lots of ideas for future projects. Let me know what you think!

Thank you so much! The curving was mostly because the sheet couldn't stay flat 😆, but it could be interesting to have some wavy textures from it.

I love iridescent film behind a white background. You should try and make a resin phone case with it.

I love the molds, you should try heating the film up making it really melted wrinkle crinkle look. That's the new thing. going.

Thank you! I've tried the wrinkling look with the cellophane films and they turned out really neat! The cellophane films are thinner so no heat needed for that.

I just had a video with heating up the film pop up on my feed, and it’s much different from the wrinkling look I’ve tried and seen. It's so cool, can’t believe I haven’t seen it until now! I will definitely have to try it out!

Is there a way to deal with the bubbles. Every time I try to add a sheet to the resin it creates bubbles.

I haven’t really experimented much with it reduce bubbles. I just add a top coat to fill in the bubbles, but top coating is also what I do with all my trays for the extra shine. You can try to apply resin to the film first before placing it into the mold. I dip flowers in resin to help reduce bubbles, so that may work for the film.
