Took it out of the box today and had it up and running in 15 min. The top of the case slides off to install the battery. I downloaded the manuals to get everything set up. Great job. I'm working on an ancestry project and have a lot of very old photo albums to go through. I can't remove the photos or pages from the albums as they are ancient and will disintegrate. I will split off the individual photos later and touch them up using other software.

Got this Christmas 2017. I gather by the quality of the RU-vid that the product is DoA. I can't even find out how to open the tool to install the batteries. The software only resembles the product its supposed to operate. Great idea, guys>

Batteries are in the compartment that slides out on the top under the Iriscanbook/wifi words.

The video helped, but it was too fast for me. I am not sure how to put the small chip in my scanner. I am afraid to break something. My IRIScan Executive 3 came with no software disk and extremely SPARSE instruction sheetlets.

Couldn't find where batteries go. Pauses video to find out. Resumes video and doesn't tell the audience. Good job!

@@coucou729 Maybe a bit late but the batteries are under the black lid. With the text iriscan book wifi on it. It's really easy to find... So many people here didn't find it.. just slight that lid with your thumb.

Good vidio but did not get back on where you put the batters. Little confused if you need baters in all the time?? Or when connected to a device you don't. A bit more basics and less on how to put it in the bag.

Mardee, Thanks for sharing information on this scanner. I am thinking about getting one, but wonder how it would work on big, thick books, where there is little inside margin or smaller space to wedge scanner in. Would it cut of a lot?

+Bij Ward It's pretty versatile to get in those wedges, but if the book prints close to the spine those middle pages could get hairy. Otherwise I think it should work ok, but you might have to really press firmly on the spine towards the middle to get as flat as possibly can be for clear text read.

I have a Google Chromebook, so I cannot load software onto it, do you choose the format in/on the device itself? So when you pull the chip out of it that contains the scanned images has already converted scan to PDF? And the scanned PDF is searchable AS saved to chip? In other words when I take the chip out of scanner and inserted into chromebook the scan is ready to search and download? Anybody here use it with a chromebook?

Decent Vid but just as YOU could not locate the battery compartment, nor can I or other users. You failed to cover that...Thank you! Also, there are major MS connectivity and WiFi recognition problems with this POS. Even downloading the latest SW from IRIS website does not solve the problem, nor does various app downloads to Android device...just saying

This did not show how to take the scanned image off of the scanner and open in in the computer. The smart phone is not the only way to capture the image.

Connect using the usb cable. One end to the scanner the other end to the computer usb port. Go to my computer on your laptop or desktop, it will either be your drive E: or F: depend on your system configuration . Double click to retrieve the scanned documents. Hope this help.

Depends on the paint.. Glossy might not look so good.. also the canvas would matter as well.. I'd just take a photo vs trying to scan it and damage anything.

You forgot to show how to install the batteries but wasting time to show what the case is used for!! This is a video on how to use your phone in connection with the scan, not a video for the scan's basics.

Mardee, thx for the video - I have also question - Is it possible to make "unlimited" scan.. like width of the scenner and one meter long? Or do you know if its possible to "paint" with that (or how to describe the process) like with their scan-mouse? I ask because i would like to scan building plans and I just wonder if i would have to merge files, or it would be able to catch all I want in one. Thank you! Václav

I can't believe this guy has trouble finding how to put the batteries in, put the video on pause but when he resumes it he does not explain how to insert the batteries. Did it ever occur to you buddy that maybe the viewer had trouble inserting the batteries too?

It was my early days of you tube .. I had tested this out and then went on to other things and when filming totally forgot where it was .. lol
