The technique of Iris Folding , is to layer strips of paper in a spiral design resembling the iris of a camera lens 📸
Number pattern templates are free to download or Iris Folding Kits can be bought online or from art stores.
For this project you need: numbered template, card aperture of template shape, blank card base, strips of plain or patterned paper of your choice, sticky tape, red liner tape, scissors, peel-offs and low tack tape.
The strips should be folded lengthways and cut to size following the numbered pattern.
The edge of each strip should face towards the centre of the card and line up exactly on the number line for a crisp finish.
Don’t worry that it looks a mess, remember you are working from the back of the aperture 👍🏻Once completed, just flip the aperture over to reveal the neat, colourful image 😊
