It's 'Greensleeves' which was possibly written by Henry VIII and not Irish at all. Nothing to do with Christmas either. The second piece was written by J S Bach. What a con!

"What Child Is This?" is a Christmas carol whose lyrics were written by William Chatterton Dix, in 1865. At the time of composing the carol, Dix worked as an insurance company manager and had been struck by a severe illness. While recovering, he underwent a spiritual renewal that led him to write several hymns, including lyrics to this carol that was subsequently set to the tune of "Greensleeves", a traditional English folk song.

I agree with you in principle. However, I do recognise English and German carols! The Bach one is often played at weddings! LOL. Someone obviously doesn't have a clue what they are playing. Sound nice, though!

I made a similar comment to yours, without first noticing yours. I agree completely with you. As an Irishman, I find it insulting that someone can mention the harp, and it automatically makes it Irish. Track two isn't even a harp, it's the harpsichord!

I have a life. Nothing is insulting. It's music. Call it English. Irish, Mexican.... just enjoy it.
