Irish dance "WALKING ON STONES" Song and Dance Ensemble named after VS Lokteva Production by Denis Berko Concert Hall named after P.I. Tchaikovsky April 29, 2018 Video Anton Globa, Andrei Globa
Gotta say, as an Irishman, when I heard a foreign language at the start I was shocked to say the least. I thought maybe the title was wrong on the video lol Then, these talented young ones did their thing with such grace and skill, it really brought a smile to my face. Much love to Russia, from Ireland.
We, Russians, love Irish culture and your country. If you will ever be in Moscow or St Petersburg, just try to count an amount of Irish pubs that we have here. Also I deeply respect your long-age fighting with fucking england. And I hope that one day Ireland will be united again! To tell the truth, I read "Dubliners" by Joyce, and I found out a lot of common in Irish with Russians
These performers should come to Ireland for Saint Patricks Day Festival which goes on for over a week, they would get a gret Reception from the People of Ireland.. You were all Excellent from the Dancers to the Musicians..Bravo ❤
I came here to Russia in search of Irish dance. How wonderful that music and dance unites people all over the world. Here we have a common language! Greetings to Russia from Germany!
The orchestra made me wince throughout-western folk music is clearly not their typical style-but nonetheless, admirable in that at least they tried their best!
As a member of a high school band, I can say that I'm extremely impressed with them, and I love the music Edit: Thank you for noticing them, if there's something else going on then the band often doesn't get the praise they should.
@@eragonshurtugal4239 Yes, but still they should have listened to an original score first to get the pacing and lyrical quality right. Just like you can't learn a language by reading it off the page, you have to listen to it being spoken. They are emphasising the wrong syllable, as it were.
Well that's about the hardest thing I've seen all year... and not one of them opens their mouth to breathe heavily even at the end. They all had their hips replaced with spring steel, that's what it is 🧐
@@tristanbackup2536 Actually, they only practice a new dance for few months; after all, this ensemble does not specialize in Irish dancing, they simply included one Irish dance into their repertoir, which includes folk dances from many countries as well as ballet dancing.
Ella Armstrong they are talking about the “in unison” part. many people going to dance recitals or concerts with catchy music do not have a musical background. anyone with a background in music or dance can clap on-beat easily, but people with little to no experience in those things get off from each other and the rest of the audience easily since they don’t have the greatest idea how beat works. the larger the crowd the worse it is, but it’s hard to tell how large of an audience is here
But don't expect this to be easy. I started Irish dance when I was 23, seriously taking into consideration I had to stop after just a few lessons as that would prove to be too hard as an adult. This year (2021 is two days old by the time I type this) will mark my 10th year of Irish dance and I have gotten so far by now (so much further than I expected to get in the beginning) No, I will most likely never be a championship-winner or find that bit of myself to easily compete in competitions at all, but I know I can do this. Once you grow up, you easily forget how hard it is too learn something from the ground up. And yes, it sucks to sometimes see a kid walk into class (adults and kids usually are not mixed in dance class but if someone needs to make up for a lesson, that happens) and just be outperformed by that child in every possible way like it doesn't take any effort for him/her (usually the latter). But adults can do this too. It just takes a bit more probably as you lose a lot of flexibility during/after puberty.
@@jb6712 We should be thankful for the exceptional people as they tend to be the ones who entertain the squirrels. Lets be honest some of us have less IQ and ability than squirrels.
What an amazing tribute to my Irish people. The dance was beautiful the steps were spot on and my favourite bit of all was they danced an Irish jig while still highlighting themselves and their tradition, beautiful fusion!
Dude no offense but this is a tribute to Russian people. 100% I can see the Irish influence but this is a step up from Irish dancing. As an Irish person who loves Irish dancing but wishes they would losen the arms a bit, this form of dance is great. I hope traditional Irish dancers incorporate it.
@@MsMaryPatricia also the clue is in the name Irish dance walking on stones and most certainly you can see their Russian dance tradition in their steps. They leap of those stones as if they were hot.
this is the best comment of them all. however in america if non black children preformed a hip-hop dance they would call it cultural appropriation and racism ... that's the pathetic state of affairs in which we find our selves here.
@@Hofberaterfuchs Nope, me too. I was thinking it's like a imitation of a deer and fairy-dance. They were also wearing green which symbolizes nature and the forest. The instrument used also gives off the "folkish" outdoorsy vibe... yeah I analyze everything in music lol..
@@thirdworldcountry7379 where is she? Time stamp? And also, why do you think a person from a different culture should be banned from something that isn't a custom to her own culture?
This is a Russian Dance and Song Academy. One thing that You tube has confirmed for me is the global scope of dance. In particular, Irish dance which seems to be practiced in many countries!
You're right! This is because Russians know how to transform the culture of any nation into Russian classics! It is a pity that Europeans and Americans have a prejudice against the Russians "bear, vodka, balalaika." Using this dance as an example, you can see that the Russian people have a really high culture!
It's the seriousness in their faces and the strictness in their steps. Nothing seems loose, like how real Irish would dance. Some of them have these lovely smirks though, where they're like, "Oh yeah. I'm that good."
@@LevCallahan i think you are right when i see irish dance usually they all look happy and a bit mischevious like smiling faries coming to whisk you away, these girls looked a little stern and stiff however the dance was still very good just oddly not quite like irish dance
Alex Alerasoul as someone who did Irish dance for 10 years, it’s an extremely stiff style of dance. There’s honestly nothing Russian about this except for the fact it’s done by Russian girls. They’re literally even doing moves that aren’t allowed in traditional Irish dance like the hands on hips (anything with arms other than strictly holding hands or linking arms for the purpose of group dance) and the rocking side to side on toes
