Great honest feedback. Glad you're giving ST another chance. I'm a big Muse fan, and ST has become my favorite band as I discovered more about them. The more you listen, the more you realize how top tier their composition, lyrics, vocals, production - all of it - really is. Fantano couldn't be more off base, IMO. Keep listening and see for yourself.
The lyrics by Sleep Token are so unique and the singer composes all the lyrics, musical instrumentation and came up with the "lore" of the band. They're from the UK and are masked and anonymous so people will focus on the music instead of who's who in the band. Subbed for more Sleep Token. I suggest starting with the beginning of the Eden album. All the way through the album is a rollercoaster ride. If you enjoy the Eden album then you should listen to their first albums and EPs. They have a couple singles that are great also. Hope you get bitten by them like we have 😂 Worship ❤
Subscribing for more Sleep Token! Really appreciated your reaction and how open you are to giving the band a chance. They dip in & out of different genres and you don't know what you'll be getting from song to song, so you're in for a wild ride!
And also, I think that rock music is evolving into a new step in which you cannot classify genres as strictly as in the 80´s: I think it all bagan with the century, for example, Muse has a very eclectic sound in which they mix hard rock/metal elements with prog rock, electronic music, pop, punk rock and alternative-brit pop rock from the 90´s; Sleep Token can travel from heavy metal riffs to jazz parts, pop ballads and so, the same happens with the australian band King Guizzard and the Lizzard Wizard, they have albums very close to Thrash Metal to other more related to Progressive Rock, other songs with reggae elements or hip hop or even Jazz, also the Warning mix Heavy Metal with Hard Rock and Alternative; and the same goes with bands like Bad Omens or Spiritbox; they are not "married" with only one style or subgenre.
You have to listen to ascenionism next! It is a mix between this song and the summoning and it is in the good way something unlike anything ever done before. It is a song I compare to other songs and nothing compares. This is my opinion however so take that what you will.
