Anjana N - Ah sure, better education, beautiful places to hike, hundreds of years of literary culture. I think we'll do just fine without your pity. But cheers all the same!
***** We have soft biscuits too I think, just not that widespread,we've got kimberly and Mikado. Kimberly are ginger with mallow center and mikado are soft biscuit with coconut dust and jam in between the mallow/coconut.
Irish people don't like soft cookies?? or is that brand particularly weird? I always underbake my cookies so they're all chewy and soft. om nom nom nom
"Original" flavor Goldfish is something I RARELY see in the grocery store. I think I've had them maybe twice in my life? It really should've been Cheddar, and then Flavor Blasted Cheddar, if that's what they wanted to pick as the "example."
raeesmerelda agreed, I've never heard of original flavor myself my kiddos are all about cheddar and pizza flavor, they also have a cookie flavor line out now which are bombmazing
It's so nice seeing other people who like these as much as I do. All my friends are pussies, and hate them. These are a damn childhood memory for me. I was the weird kid who was raised on listening to opera singers and eating orange milanos.
The Raspberry ones are also great. Theyre a nice break from the typical soft chocolate surgery cookie. Theyre very old-timey and feel like something my great grandparents wouldve ate lol.
Nah man it's strictly a UK and Ireland thing. Here in mainland Europe, you not only get both soft and hard but you also get crisp (like those milanos) and flakey.
It's so ironic to me that they referrer to a lot of our food as bland. But my grandmother who was Irish would make the most bland food ever. No spices, maranaids or rubs; just a touch of salt on everything (psssst..I still ate it! lol) 😝😁😄
Its also ironic that they had just complained about the soft cookies before getting the hard Milanos lol. Milanos feel kinda old timey and like cookies ive had in Europe. VERY surprised they didnt like them.
To be fair the plain ones are pretty bland, but the flavored ones are nice. The lemon and orange ones are my favorite, but I'd leave the regular dark chocolate ones that they got on the shelf every time.
Right?! They are SOOOO DAMN CRITICAL!!! IT'S LIKE, NO IF IT'S NOT THE WAY WE DO IT IT'S WROOOONG!!! And if it's not 100% tree bark and grass it's the devil. LOL
"you can mold it into shapes, that shouldn't happen". have Irish people never had a soft and chewy cookie before. I mean in the US we like 'em crispy, chewy, or crispy edge with chewy center. seriously, step outside your box and try a cookie that isn't as hard as three day old toast geez!
kiki bigbangfan so that one lady represents all of Irish people does she? Even though she has a distinctly non Irish accent. I, for one, love a good soft chewy cookie!
Rachel Davis I see your point but I think I've heard others in other vids complain about a soft cookie, which i prefer but yeah I see what you're saying, she doesn't speak for all of Ireland
If you want a soft sweet treat eat cake. I prefer my biscuits or 'cookies' to be crunchy because thats usually how you get them in the UK. I think the soft/chewy cookie thing is a more recent import from the US in the past decade or so.
I know you yanks would love to open a tube of cookie dough and just fucking eat it raw, but that's not the way the rest of the world sees it. If you want a soft treat, there are better options...
HonieB If we want a soft sweet treat we'll eat soft cookies. Not going to change what we like just because others don't like it. Totally different than cake anyway.
Pepperidge Farms remembers that irish people have no f'kin clue what "good" is. I dont know if the shipping did something to them or maybe the air in Ireland sucks the sweetness out of foods, but their Milano cookies are pretty good imo.
I've never been impressed with the Milano cookies. I keep giving them a try cause they look like I should like them, and always end up going "meh". It's sad.
I've said it before. "This would be better with a cup of tea." should be the Facts channel official motto. They should make a shirt with that on it. (I'll be waiting for my free shirt for suggesting this idea.)
lmao everytime I hear about family and friends visiting Ireland they always say the food there is so bland, my stepmoms Irish family also makes super bland food, yet every food tasting video I've seen with this crew, they say the food they're trying is so bland. You'd think they'd be used to it
Or kid distracters in waiting rooms or while waiting for food to be ready. They taste like nothing, dont fill you up and keep the child occupied for 5 minutes.
Wow this was surprising. I thought they'd like them. I prefer crunchy cookies as well so I usually don't get the cookies. But these are good with coffee.
So fucking true with the Goldfish. They are to plain and honestly not that good... for some reason I can eat a whole bag. I hate them, but I can't stop eating them....and I don't know why...
Michele G I'm... I'm sorry, but I have NEVER seen anyone eat goldfish with soup or dunk them in veggie dip. Never in my life. Lol I don't doubt that's what maybe they are supposed to be for, but in my perspective, that's not what they are used for. But maybe I'm in the minority in that situation lol I could be totally wrong. Haha
I like to put goldfish crackers in my tomato soup. Otherwise they just sit on a shelf until the little children in the family come and visit. They eat those like there is no tomorrow.
Nadia Mohamed I've seen them, but I always go for the tried and true. Well not anymore, dammit, I'm throwing caution to the wind. Flavor blasted cheddar, here I come!
***** Yeah, I like em too much. When they're bogo, I buy and eat way too many, and then tell myself it's okay, because I was just trying to save money, lol.
Nadia Mohamed Alright, but if I don't start dancin like I just got filled with the Holy Spirit, I'm gonna want my money back. Jk, I'm definitely gonna try them.
C*Stereo They're a relatively new thing (not sure if they have them outside of the US). There's 4 flavors out of which I have only found 3 at my local grocery stores but all 3 were really yummy! I particularly liked the peanut butter one but the banana one was also top notch.
VloggityVlog Really? I love them lol I lived in Japan for a while so they were the first oreos I tasted. For sure though some of the flavors were out there in taste.
They could've given better cookies. Pepperidge Farm has some really nice sweets. Anyway, for some reason I wanna befriend the long haired guy. He just looks super friendly, no?
Nadia Mohamed Unfortunately, I'm all the way in the US, so there'd be no point XD But, you can tell Jesus I'm a big fan of his work with the poor and the sick haha
Milano cookies are definitely best with tea or coffee. They’re the perfect level of porousness to soak it up after one dunk without falling apart right away. It’s glorious.
How dare they insult the Montauks, chewy cookies is a style and they are awesome. And you dip the Milano's into Coffee or Cocoa before eating. Now the best. You have to try the Natucket Dark Chocolate and Double Chocolate
I was looking at her for the longest time and then I realised... The girl to the left at 3:15 looks like Saffy from Absolutely Fabulous. The big sweater, the hair, the glasses, even the eyebrows! Love it.
Goldfish are like a childhood staple snack that everyone had growing up because they were easy to carry around and kids like the flavor and shapes. I love Goldfish, but I love salty things.
Not the best choices. Pepperidge Farm Milano Milk Chocolate, Orange or Raspberry would have been better choices. The Sausilito, Chessman, and Strawberry/Raspberry thumbprints are good too.
A lot or pepperidge farm cookie are for dipping in tea, coffee, and milk. It why Milano is so long and Dry. My favorite cookie is Chessmen! I feel like if they liked the Gingerbread they also like Chessmen.
[ominous music] Remember what happened to the last people who disparaged Pepperidge Farm? Pepperidge Farm remembers. No one else does though, because those folks were never seen again.
