It was an accident waiting to happen,it was obvious for so long now but as usual ignored and now many will pay severely for it, especially those renting privately with leases coming to an end not only will they not be able to get somewhere but by some miracle if they do they'll be paying even higher rent
Why wouldn't be there crisis? What is the rent cost? Can you save for deposit working average job? Plus, mortgage 4x income with everything costing 300k plus. Yes, you can get something in the middle of fields cheaper, but if you are not a farmer, what are you going to do? TikTok bikini dances? That's what is in demand?
How about evicting defaulters in order to free up housing for those who want to buy? It won't cost the state anything because if they were going to have to house the evicted they would have to do the same for couch surfers saving for a mortgage. If the government won't build houses for couch surfers, why would they have to build them for defaulters. I say let the defaulters go live with their mothers.
