Bolander, I can't make out the EU country of origin on the truck's number plate - I expect it had just come off the M50 after coming over on the ferry. Driver must have been half-asleep or just chancing his arm given the size of his rig compared to my little old car. Luckily I was wide awake as I have seen this type of behaviour before on the Malahide Road. A friend injured her neck a few years ago when she was stopped in traffic and then shunted from the rear by a HGV from mainland Europe driven by a driver who told the two Gardai that arrived on the scene after being called by another motorist that he had no English. As a result she says they let him drive off. I have heard of this kind of thing happening in Kent and other parts of England but first time I realised it was happening here too. One of the joys of free movement I suppose thanks to our overlords in Brussels.
