Watch as we unbox and review the iRobot Roomba 960. We put it to the test to ask the one question everyone wanted to know. Does it suck? Well yes, but for a vacuum, that's a good thing. Amazon amzn.to/2ELAdpv
My daughters 960 quit working so she gave it to me. The problem turned out to be a seized vacuum motor (Error 8) which I was able to free up and get the roomba working again but at some point I'm going to replace the dust bin which includes a new motor. The main reason she gave it to me is because she has two huskies and the poor roomba didn't stand a chance of keeping up with the amount of fur they shed. I have small dogs which shed very little so the roomba doesn't have a problem at my house.
I was thrilled with the video on the Irobot roomba 960. Your presentation was very clear and concise. You have made it easy for this non-savvy techno to put the roomba together and we are off and running. But I was so hoping that my cats would love it too! My Robot was a gift from number one daughter, thank you Jackie.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!! DISCLAIMER: I AM NOT very I.T. or mechanically literate!!! But I desperately needed help with PET HAIR !!! I just purchased the iRobot e6 6198 from Costco. Price was $399 with $50 off ($349). The fellow at Customer Service for Costco actually talked me out of a higher model (985). He pulled up the Stats they keep and showed me the difference in returns of the two models they sell. (You can't imagine how much I appreciated this, but as the guy said, "You know us, we're going to take them back for you no matter what, so it doesn't hurt me at all to let you know which gets returned more often!"). Anyway, the model I purchased DID NOT come with any kind of a manual or Quick Start Guide. Just the Warranty booklet and a single sided, one sheet on basically "How to plug it in". I then began trying to research a video that would show me HOW TO SET IT UP INITIALLY. The slick "Quick Start Guide to Roomba" labeled Video just has a charming British Voice which says it can be set up "in three simple steps", but all they show is her very simple words printed on the screen with an image of the Roomba running around the floor. I was so frustrated !!!!! But then I came upon YOUR Video (Taa Dah!!!!!) and it SHOWED and you TOLD me EVERYTHING I needed to know !!! Even though I don't have the same model as you, I was able to go step-by-step with your instruction and set my Roomba ("Fi Fi") up. Mine is Wi-Fi enabled, and (I THINK) the guy at Costco said it's a fairly new model. I haven't yet charged it enough to have my first clean but you have given me CONFIDENCE and HOPE that I'm going to have an equally AMAZING experience!! Yours is the first video I have ever Subscribed to!!!! Thank you very much!! I'll be back often !!! :-)
Just plugged ours in today and started it for the very first time. Seeing the dogs reaction was worth every penny. Old English Sheep Dog vs Roomba. Thank you for the review, I was looking at a less expensive model and because of your review purchased the 960.
I love my I robot🌼 No matter how many times I sweep or vacuum with my central vac it always finds more dirt. I use it weekly and love it. Great purchase!
You have to clean the dust box thoroughly, I use a small shop vac to clean the rollers/extractors and box/filter. Clear the decks, pick up all obstacle chairs, etc. Roomba is amazing. I just bought couch risers to raise my couches a few inches to clean under them too.
@ 19:35 that would be a great feature that looks like it would be a software update once the area in relation to the docking station is mapped. Nice review just bought the 960 after getting the 671 on Prime Day which I'm going to use for an upstairs room that is only 150 sq feet. Even the 671 is amazing the way it can navigate it's way thru a dining room table/chairs set and clean around it.
I have a 960 and we love it. It keep the floors and the rugs so clean. We saw immediately how good it clean the floors. I talked so much about the Roomba that 3 people on my job went out and brought one. They have cats and was amazed at how much cat hair it picked up. My coworker said she will never be without a Roomba from now on. I give this little guy a 5 star. My only complaint is, it is so noisy.
Thank you! There is a lot of great tech products out there, and this is one of them. We try to give all the facts good and bad, so you can make an informed decision. Thanks again for your feedback!
@@AdKatTech unlike so many so-called "reviews," this really is a review, and not an advertisement in disguise. Keep up the good work! Therefore, I subbed, belled, liked, and commented.
I AM REMODELING MY HOUSE BY RIPPING OUT ALL CARPETS ON THE FIRST FLOOR,THATS 4 ROOMS & A BATHROOM TO HARDWOOD FLOOR.THIS IS A VERY GOOD OPTION.THATS FOR THE REVIEW !!!!
Excellent video with excellent 4K resolution! Got some questions and observations here… 1…How can I tell if my model 960 is the Wi-Fi model or not? 2…You made no mention of the space that obviously could be used for a second brush on the (L)EFT side, though there is no indentation for it, unlike the (R)IGHT side. 3...The light colored roller has a hexagonal male insert end, and the dark colored roller has a square male insert end. They can be damaged if they go over hard protruding objects, such as carpet mounting screws, in just one use! I recently found my Roomba model 960 in a dumpster, and it works (at least somewhat)!Though I've only tested it once so far. Right now I'm cleaning it out. I just downloaded the app, and hopefully it will work with my Wi-Fi and clean methodically, instead of "scatterbrained." If it doesn't, I'll donate it over OfferUp to somebody who is a adept at repairing it. I hate needless landfill.
I'm just about to order this model right now! I've been debating between the different models, but this one seems the perfect fit for our household! Thanks for all the info - it really cleared things up and helped me to make a decision!
Could you tell me the difference between Roomba 960 and 971 please ? Actually in France Amazon sells both with 50 € differences (971 is more expensive). I can't find anywhere the difference between theses the 960 and 971 models! Thank you!
Got mine today!!! I’m so so so excited. Enjoyed this video very much. My question, if I have the virtual wall in the room with the docking station, will it not be able to recharge when it needs to? Oh and I LOVE hearing your children in the background.
@@AdKatTech apparently it is designed to withstand being ridden on by cats and other small pets. 😎 But I don't think it will be able to tolerate a large St. Bernard dog riding on it.😖
I have 3 cats making a mess of the house. So I decided to get a robot to clean it. Would be nice when it sees when a cat puked on the floor, but I think not.
Im flipping out over hear bc it has 1 brush on it w a empty second space where another brush suppose to go. How the F, do you only put 1 brush ??? Why isnt there 2 brushs on this??? Glad to see it was by design.
@@AdKatTech Thanks much Ad Kat Tech, yours is the most comprehensive one I got for the 960, it would be great to see a post one year review with maintenance costs as it enters the emerging markets, have decided to go for this model anyways this month!
I'm going to work on a 1 year review and try and get that posted soon. Thanks again for watching. It's a great unit, very reliable, and cleans very well, even after a year.
Thanks! Yes, we still use our Dyson, there are just some things the Roomba can't do. Stairs, under the couch, tight spaces. We have the Dyson V6 Animal Cord-free Vacuum, it's also rechargeable, and does work great, but Charge lasts only about 20-25 minutes on max power. But it is cordless.
You see if your going to pay the price for this might as well get the self emptying one for few $$$ more. If I'm right costco sells this for around $550 to $650 so $300 more it empties it own bin so once a month you need to touch it
How many centimeters can ỉobot 960 climb? For example, the floor is dirty in a small area Do I want irobot 960 to vacuum up this area without vacuuming the whole house? Many thanks.
Good question, it's 110 and there are lots of issues (search google) on using the 110 with adapters in Eurpoe for 220. I would recomment against it and not to get an adapter. Lots of people say they burn out when used on 220.
Yes, It's a great vacuum. Gets the floors clean and does it's job well. Yes, it does occasionally get stuck when one of the kids blankets fall on the floor, but overall, it's great, and I would highly recommend it.
This one is no good .... Bumps straight to the wall ... My $99 robot know the wall and it stops before hitting it .... and also it has 2 brushes on both sides, not one like this 960 ...
