I have done an Iron Butt six times. But when I did it, I did not know such a thing existed. I rode from Phoenix Arizona to Detroit Michigan twice to visit my dad. It was about 2,000 miles and I did it in about 30 hours. Of course the trip back was about the same. The last time I visit my dad when I rode my bike was from Silver City New Mexico to Detroit Michigan, which was 1822 miles in 28 hours. That was about twenty years ago. A couple years ago when I last visited, it was in a car, and does not count as an Iron Butt, and I did it with only stops to eat and fuel 17 hour trip from Oklahoma. I will test my endurance again once I get another bike.
Congratulations sera you smashed it and in excellent time 😊 I know two guys that did it this year too and they were shattered when they'd finish. Hats off to you 😁x
Another superb video Sera, that is one hell of a ride and far more than the 400 miles I did on a Harley World Ride day few years ago, my butt (and rest of body) not capable of that sort of distance.
Huge HUGE props to you for completing this!! I wouldn't even attempt it, especially on my bike, CBR 650 F. I know it had to be a lot of fun, but you had to be completely spent by the time you finished. Great job! And real good video too! Subbed 👍.
Thank you! 😀 I slept well when I got home that's for sure! I'm sure you could do it, like many endurance things it's a case of mind over matter! Thanks so much for watching and subbing!
Love this! Am tempted to try one next year. Any tips on planning with the iron butt association appreciated. 😀 I wanted to set my own route. From Wales to Scotland for a cuppa with a friend. 😂
Thank you. It was a route I planned myself. There are a few established routes for the SS1000, including the RBLR routes. I wanted to loop through England, Scotland and Wales on my trip though, so came up with this one :) Thanks for watching!
I have the standard seat on the Tiger at the moment. I will be replacing it with a gel one at some point. It wasn't seriously uncomfortable, bit could have been better, it was really the only part of me that ached at the end of the day.
I chose my route and timing carefully so avoided the traffic and didn't hang around when the road was clear. I stopped a total of 10 times for either food or fuel.
