In a sense he is the Iron Butterfly. Apart from being a unique-sounding singing organist, he has also written nearly all the songs in the first four albums. The two that came out after he had left the band, are not really Iron Butterfly. Not without him.

wallingford CT 1968. Dad sat in the parking lot in his car while BF Ginny and I went in to see IB at the music circus. Somehow after the show I found a back door and observed Erik carrying a "handicapped" girl outside [a fan, a good deed being done]. He let me take his pic. Ingle's voice was truly unique and will be listened to long into the future. **BALL sounds just as good today.
