Binge watching you from newest to oldest. My 70yr old chairbound self enjoys your accent and all your projects. I'm thinking I need to make sort of a dwarven Petra sort of thing. Lots of ideas on your channel. Patron John.
Simply beautiful! I really like the plaster rock effect, perhaps better than the cork! Certainly going to be a weekend project coming up! Well done! Love your work!
Fantastic. Loved the columns and the arch. Highly versatile for use in so many genres. Don’t be afraid to nick and sand the moulded columns, and remove the mould lines. The smoothness of the columns contrasts a bit with the texture of the foam arch crosspiece. Perhaps a stipple with spackle might help make both surfaces come together.
Cheers mate 👍🏻 yeah you're right, those columns aren't the easiest to work with, they're fairly dense plastic. I only managed to make a few nicks and scratches on them before I got sick of it and just stuck them down 😅
Very cool diverse stuff. The mine is MINE-blowing. BOING! Rocky formations came out really cool, either way, very much so with the transition between sand and the rocks themselves. One has to accept though - no moss this time. haha Cheers mate!
Awesome! Love the little mine, you could do so much to personalize it. Skeleton in the entryway, pile of discarded bones some giant beasts left, torches on the floor ready for some adventurous soul to light one and venture forth...OH! Oooorrr a giant spider and some webs.
Lots of lovely stuff in here! Definitely going to have to remember the tinfoil as a good way to turn excess plaster into rock bits when I start making urban rubble.
Nice! I really like that mine entrance. Someone could eplace the I-beams with "logs" (a.k.a. some sticks from my front yard) of an appropriate scale for a fantasy/historical look, too. Actually that's not too far off of what some of the old mine entrances near here look like (except those usually have big warning signs put there by the Forest Service 😋).
I toyed with the idea of having some tracks running into the entrance for Carts to be pushed in and out but ditched that idea in the end. This mine is predominantly going to be used for my 40k Orks, and they don't do warning signs 😅
Actually - desert terrain is very varied in real life. Gulches, hills and a wide variety of other features can create bottlenecks that can be blocked. Besides - most routes in deserts are codified through decades and even centuries of use. These routes are placed where the terrain supports the movement of people and animals and where stable oases can be found. Nice terrain at any rate 👍
Woah, Really nice! Love the use of plaster, good alternative for bark wood. I've try to sterilize/cook bark in my oven, smells bad, smells is resilient (-_- several weeks to dissipate). Better use of pigment/powder color than bard's craft chanel this week also. Still the best chanel themed craft i've got to see. And this week that's some really cool decors. Can still use some of them as center plot in ttrpg games like thoses mines. I'm waiting for that diorama of all the wonderfull medieval tiles you got :p. Sending you good vibes :3!
Cheers mate 👍🏻🙂 thankfully I didn't cook this bark, but it was dried out for a long time. I should use powder pigments more often they produce really nice effects. I play abit of gorkamorka now and then, so this desert terrain is all pretty useful for me 😬
@@irongryphon Agree, and your rendering with those pieces are just perfect. (tbfranc here: really dont cook bark xD [for anyone reading this], it's not quite a burning smell because of the essence of the wood but nonetheless its so strong that's unpleasing).
Spectacular work as always, Alan! Admittedly, I spent the whole video waiting for you to add the signature moss somehow, but the minimalism of desert terrain really makes what little details there are pop that much more. And great job with both types of rock formation!
These look fantastic. I love the red tones under the tan; very similar to the sandstone formations I’ve seen in Utah and Arizona. They are versatile too; areas of interest around a blue dragon’s desert lair, Gaslands, Dark Sun, SPQR, Bolt Action, Boot Hill...wow!
