Thanks mate, If you are familiar with how the artist plays then it helps a lot. I get an idea of the root note and type of scale and work from there. The hard part is working out if you play across the neck or up and down, that's where you listen for little things like slides and nuances that give away the shapes that are being played. If there's live footage I watch that. Amplitube lets you slow down the music to make it easier in fast runs.
I've always liked Maiden, but until now I've only listened to it. Same with In Flames, Van Halen, Testament, Exodus, Slash and Children of Bodom. To name a few. I often wreck it when learning to play because I wear it out.
and I watched your video of harvester by Metallica, that riff right before James sings is ba-da-da-dum-da-da you only hit that E power chord twice not three times!! Hopefully I dont sound too condascending haha
Thanks man, there's not that much to tell. Apart from my guitars, I pretty much do all my cover through amplitube on the Mac. Film it on my iPhone 4S, and record it through GarageBand. I have a few different amps but rarely use them. My favarite is the Randall rm20 with interchangeable pre amp modules but even it hardly gets used. I'd spend 95% of practice using amplitube 3. The vintage Marshall lead is really good and with nice headphones it sounds huge. That's it dude
Dude I'll comment because you were the only one who played that 2nd solo accurately, all others seem to lack the vibe and energy the guitarist did on his solo, congratz brother. All the best!
Another great song, a mate of mine rates bands by putting them on random and seeing how many times he's got to press skip. You don't have to do it that much with Maiden lol
Doesnt matter the continent, were more alike than different. Metal players are particular about what we like. Great work always every video Ive watched of yours. Accurate, its helped me. Keep on rockin and I dont know im man enough to live with the poisonous creatures ther. You got stones!!
I prefer guitars with the knobs level with or behind the bridge, but this isn't too bad. It's nowhere near in the way like a strat but you do have confine your right hand a little. You can always get warmoth to make you a new pick guard with no holes for the volume or tone so you can put them wherever you want for $25
I can't find too much wrong with it, I will be replacing the pups in time as the single coils are very thin and the guitar is worth it. The neck is great, feels very sturdy and the guitar seems to have a solid tone. They said the body is basswood but feels too heavy for that. I won't be selling it any time soon, but I'd love to compare with the pro model
Excellent cover ! You should do some guitar tutorials for Iron Maiden songs , also the tone man you always sound identical to Adrian and Dave , I'm buying the Adrian Smith SDX and I would really appreciate some feedback
Congrats, dude! Saw many of your videos it was a thrill! I really hope that you have a band to play with, it would be a pity not to do so. Up the Irons! \m/
I use iMovie on the Mac, give it a few titles, fade in fade out. The multiple split screen vids are done on Final Cut Pro using the 4 or 8 point effect. iMovie is pretty easy and it exports straight to the tube
Best cover of this song on RU-vid. I've been playing guitar for about two years now and I can play many fast songs such as Metallica's master of puppets and creeping death extremely well, but for some reason some parts of this song such as the verse or the pre chorus part or that little part after the intro. Any advice on how to practice these parts in order to play them really well?
