Wow this must have been the experience of a lifetime! I can't wait for this album, so excited. I refuse to listen to the leaked versions until I get my album September 4th, not going to spoil what I've been looking forward to for months now.:)
i've heard the album in the leaked version and guys it'a insane! i mean really the best album since 1988 by far! fantastic job! ofcourse i'm going to fucking buy it!
+Stavros Drakopoulos I've never listened to new Maiden without buying the cd first but I wouldn't be able to get it for a few weeks after release and couldn't wait. Put it on in 5.1 and cranked it up. THE ALBUM IS FUCKING AWESOME! BUY IT!
+Chip Chipperson ofcourse i will! and i hope that everyone bus it! something tjat most people don't know, because it's a double album, each sale counts for 2 which means that in order to get golden status in USA they need 250,000 copies to sale, no 500,000! isn't that cool? :-D
Yeah I know. It wasn't meant as an insult. I'm a huge Maiden-fan myself. But Bruce is himself very interested in economics and you can tell by looking at his marketing strategies ^^
+Christian Hannan Or maybe one is not fan enough to blindly buy an album without getting a taste of it first. Knowing many people (like me) used to be great fans a few decades ago, but aren't necessarily fan enough now to buy an album without knowing if they'll like it, because they still hope to find something that they make them love Maiden in the early days, but which they're missing for almost 2 decades. If I was to buy bindly every album since "Virtual XI", I would be badly disappointed. There's no album released since then that I wanted to listen more than 2 times... and "TBOS" is, alas, heading the very same way.
+Debiruman1666 you dont have some 10+ dollars for a CD or what??? man, if people anywhere in the world have enough money Maiden would sell billions copies
+Debiruman1666 if anything I'd wait till the album came out, then listen to it. because the band wanted to release the tracks at a specific time (sept 4th), and to listen to it before they're supposed to come out seems a bit unfair on the band; but I love all their stuff and pre-ordered the album ages ago so I know I'll love it
"The Great Uknown" and "The Man of Sorrows" my top two. The Red and The Black is winning me over. Who am i kidding, all the songs are winning me over!!!
My dream was always to meet the Bruce Dirckson and I can never go to show the iron maiden in Brazil my dream get on a plane and know that Bruce personally .😞😔😢
Bruce is soo cool! he's really funny, and very profesional in everything he do! :) and of course he has a wonderful voice! is a fantástic musician! We Love you Bruce! :) Up the Irons! :)
Gonna say guys, the album cover is one of the best; the "witch doctor" Eddie made me buy this album. Songs are awesome too! I think Iron Maiden is one of these bands that flow through time, but still they are "the Iron Maiden".... Eddie never changes.... (well, basically he always changes, but he´s always the same... dunno how to say it better)
Brave new world was their last great album. Each song in it has a memorable verse/or amazing chorus. Wicker man is an example of a tight modern rock song, Blood brothers is an epic classic unbelievable track. I would give it the same credits as to Dream on(Aerosmith) or November rain(guns n roses), same caliber. Some parts in Dance of Death are acceptable. The other 2 albums that came after are pure garbage. And that new one is too. if they don't have the ability of writing great songs anymore, they could at least do magic with 3 guitarists. They're doing nothing. It would be better to have a keyboardist instead of 3 musicians doing all the same thing and balancing solos after solos just to fill in the gaps.
+Jorge Richards sadly they think they are some fucking professinal metal listener and they think there opinion matter xD funny dumbass who do nothing with there left but thrash band and talk shit behind a computer
The good thing is,Im a maiden by myself what belongs the newest albums/work of IM!Since Fear of the Dark Im not up to date and all the work after F.o.t.D stands before me!The last weeks I found back to my musical roots and hang out with all the fantastical stuff on Internet about the Irons!Stave Harris for example got a lot genuine post from several Live Gigs through the whole centuries!Actually I watching more Stuff from the early 80's up to Fear of the Dark and when Im done with it,I go for all the new one!!Oyes, very excited!
Track by track unbiased review: If Eternity Should Fail: gorgeous opener and the chorus is catchy as fuck. Probably the most atmospherical track on the album Speed Of Light: Its ok but it has nothing to do with the overall feel and atmosphere of the album imo The Great Unknown: Not the best song. I like the intro and the main riff, but when the speed kicks in its kinda meh... sorry The Red And The Black: Absolutely stunning and phenomenal track. Its the transcription in music of what a feminine orgasm must be like, progressively better and long lasting. The ending is absolutely gorgeous and for me its the best track on here. When The River Runs Deep: It's a pretty cool song. I like the opening and closing riffs a lot. The verses are pretty awesome although I feel that adding a mid tempo section for the chorus was arguably not the best choice ever The Book Of Souls: It took me some time to like this one but Bruce Dickinson nails it to an unseen point. The pre chorus and the chorus delivers awesome lyrical lines as well as melodies. The second part of the song, I'm not all that fond of. I found it rather boring. Death Or Glory: It's an ok track. Nothing that special really. Classic Maiden Shadows Of the Valley: Yeah the intro is similar to Wasted Years and the main riff is almost a carbon copy of the one of The Fallen Angel off of Brave New World. But then again the song is actually still pretty awesome. I adore the epic end section! This one is overall a winner in my book. Tears Of A Clown: I don't know any of Robin Williams movies so I don't care all that much for the theme of this song. It's once again ok but not stunning. The Man Of Sorrows: The only track that IMO is below average. Its boring as fuck. There's a verse on here were the same note is repeated over and over again by the musicians and the guitarists for about 15 seconds and that sounds kinda lazy. This track does nothing and is certainly not a winner. Empire Of the Clouds: The 7 first minutes and the final 3 are incredibly emotionnal and awesome as fuck. That piano theme is gorgeous! But the middle section is incredibly boring. I really disliked it. The melodies are not nice and bruce around the 12 minute mark sounds like he's gonna explode reaching for these high notes. Its overall very good but wayyyyy to long (and that's coming from a huge Dream Theater fan so long songs are not a concern in my book) Conclusion: The book Of Souls has his fair share of greats and no so greats. I praise the musicianship that kicks ass all thoughout. Bruce sounds overall pretty good and I enjoyed this album quite a bit. Nowhere near as perfect as Brave New World or anything previous to Seventh Son but probably the third best album since BNW. The only two that are better imo are brave new world of course and A matter of life and death! feel free to leave your opinions on my quick review. Thanks!
Awesome album but why can Bruce fly the 737? I thought he has a license for the 757 and is doing now one for the 747 for the upcoming tour, why and since when has he a 737 license?
I've got to admit that I only like the first two Maiden albums and don't really care for anything else they've done - but this is a brilliant idea and Bruce is a lovely, down to Earth bloke.
