Iron Maiden's Bruce Dickinson on 'The Book of Souls' + 'Empire of the Clouds'

Indeed, it's like the music tells the tale.

Really? I am not a native speaker, I thought it was about a giant vessel (something like a ship) which would travel to the empire of the clouds and crash before it got there. In an era before the greek-roman timeperiod (probably because I heard: an Achilles yet to come). I don't know how I got this visualisation, but when I read the lyrics and looked up the wikipediapage I found out it was about a giant zeppelincrash in France. Before I read the wikipediapage and after I read the lyrics, I thought it was about a dream of an Empire of the clouds. Again: I am not a native speaker so the lyrics isn't the first thing I listen to (except when it is in Dutch, which is my native language) but I am glad I did look it up.

They're experimenting with longer songs, sure. But have you heard songs like speed of light and death or glory? Fast as any songs off their older albums! Also personally their production is spot on with these albums.

@@rhyspotter906 compared to aces high moonchild the trooper . Not even in the same league . This ain't maiden anymore just like Metallica ain't Metallica anymore . They've both gone soft . Dystopia was amazing brotherhood of the snake was amazing and latest overkill albums kick butt . But maiden and Metallica I washed my hands years ago . But still listen to 80's Metallica and maiden .

+marijansikic I thought "El Dorado" was too, but I think it's actually the fact that Bruce is singing lower theses days coupled with their increasingly heavy production.

+aldersmoke1 There was a couple previous songs, but they were mostly just Adrian in Drop-D and Dave and Janick in standard. Fallen Angel, Rainmaker, and The Legacy are the ones I know of. El Dorado was in Standard though :)
