Iron Man Takes Spider-Man's Suit Scene - Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) Movie CLIP HD 

This is actually one of the best scenes in the movie. Just the whole "this is whEN YOU ZIP IT!" got me all sittin up like i was in trouble.

“If you’re nothing without the suit, then you shouldn’t have it.” Love that line, especially knowing that Stark himself had no Iron Man suit in his first movie and had to rely on what he already knew in order to survive. He’s speaking from real experiences in not having it.

Just the sheer “Oh shit” vibe when Tony stepped out of the suit had freakin theater crowds silenced.

“If you’re nothing without the suit, you shouldn’t have it”. He’s applying the Iron Man 3 lesson. Love it.

"And if you died, I feel like that's on me..." Epic foreshadowing for infinity war...

"This is where you ZIP IT OKAY? THE ADULT IS TALKING" And here we realised how much Tony stark cares for Peter and how scary he can be...

0:55 is the BEST "NO. This is where you ZIP IT. The ADULT is talking." I love the emotion Robert Downey Jr. puts in it!!

LMAO This scene always cracks me up. Pete's soul left his body when the Iron Man suit opened up and Tony stepped out of it 😂😂

Peter: "If you cared you'd actually be here!" Tony: Your free trial of breathing has expired.

Peter: "if you really cared, you'd actually be here" Stark: "I'm gonna put some dirt in your eye."

Nobody is talking about how Peter proved Tony's "If you're nothing without the suit, than you shouldn't have it" line. Peter was storming up to Tony ready to pick a fight when he thought it was just the suit. The moment he realized Tony was there in person? All that fight just vanished. Peter proved Tony's point; yes, the Iron Man suit is an intimidating sight to behold, but he wasn't scared until he realized it was Tony inside of it.

“I just wanted to be like you” “And i wanted you to be better” That is some amazing words a father can say it really just shows that us kids growing up really should be better than our parents and thats what they want for us is to be better than them in this world thats all they want

"And if you die, I feel like that's on me". I can understand how Tony felt when Peter died in his arms in Infinity War :(((

"I just-I just wanted to be like you" "... and I wanted you to be better" That line just hits so hard for me

"A big man in a suit of armour. Take that off, what are you?" "Genius, billionare playboy, philantrophist"

The fact that, even though Peter clearly has so much more physical power compared to Tony himself, and yet still being intimidated by him, says alot about having respect, and mental dominance.

One of my favorite parts in this scene is when Tony says “No, this is where you zip it! The adult is talking!”.. You can genuinely feel the emotion Tony puts out. We watched Tony Stark grow from billionaire/playboy/philanthropist into a responsible hero and team leader. Up until this point he’s never had children, and you can tell here he serves as a father figure to Peter. He genuinely cares about him, and the fact that he’s upset at how Peter handled the situation (probably because years before he would’ve done the same) shows how much he’s grown! It’s truly a great scene and some really great acting from RDJ. Hell, when he said that I even sat up straight like I was being yelled at lol.

“If you even cared you’d actually be here.” *Tony Stark secretly teleports into the suit in 0.00001 seconds to reveal that he is now here*

I remember the audience reaction when Tony stepped out of the suit. "Whoa!!!" This scene was very well written and acted.

Peter: “If you cared youd actually be here“ Tony: *steps out of suit* Peter: ohmygoditsrobetdownyjr

I love how Tony intimidates him, not Iron Man. Also how he says if he needs the suit he shouldn't have it, Tony has shown many times that he can jump into a situation or handle himself without a suit. He's a true hero!

"God, I sound like my dad." The moment Tony realizes that maybe his dad was not as bad as he made him out to be.

I love how he isn't scared of iron-man but he's intimidated by tony himself

This is just Tony being a dad for 2 minutes straight

I love the sniff when he steps out of the suit. This is an instinctive display of aggression, flaring the nostrils to assert dominance. You see lions and wolves do it as well.

The fact that everything that Tony says to him from "I listened" and "I believed in you" to "I don't need your death on my conscience" was actually a genuine explanation like mature people discuss with each other, and involved constructive criticism like "If you're nothing without it you should not have it", really shows how good of a father figure he is. He could have told him to shut up and just give him the suit directly, but instead he didn't just assert his authority over him without letting him know he genuinely messed up.

Iron Man: give me the suit back Spider-Man: you'll get the suit back when you fix this damn door!

1:02 makes the Spider-Man death scene hit so much harder, the fact Peter apologized about dying because he knew Tony couldn’t handle that on his conscience.

I like that Peter was completely intimidated the second Tony stepped out of that suit.

The best line is when Tony said, “I don’t need that on my conscious”. He’s already got so much he feels guilty for. Tony’s a good guy.

No one could have played Tony Stark better than RDJ, because he was the epitome of being epic even without the suit

When tony walked out of the suit, Peter backed up like tony had a power level of 500,000,000

I hear a lot of people unfairly criticize this movie for not being, “as relatable” as the other Spider-Man movies. But if you ask me, looking up to somebody, wanting to impress them. And trying so hard to do so, only to embarrass yourself and feel the heavy weight of guilt for making a fool out of yourself infront of someone you see as an Idol. Is one of the most relatable things in the world.

1:26 Peter: “I am nothing without this suit!” Odin: “Are you Peter, god of suit?”

This scene really hits me hard. My father died when I was seven, and I have no children, so I never had a father-son dialog. Kudos to Robert and Tom for creating these characters in this scene so I could know what I was missing. I've come to appreciate my father much more.

Peter: "I'm nothing without this suit". Tony: "So...that spider just bite you for fun?"

Tony: I'm gunna need the suit. Peter: You'll get your suit WHEN YOU FIX THIS DAMN DOOR!!!

The fact that peter throws the "i'm fifteen" argument is waaaay underated

"If you died, I'd feel like that's on me". And then we see him on Endgame, mourning his loss, having this loss as a source of inspiration for Tony to discover time travel, and feeling RELIEVED when Peter is blipped back to life thanks to that effort.

"What if somebody had died tonight ? Different story, right ? Because that's on you." This hits different after No Way Home.

Look at how far he's come. Having to rely on Stark technology to survive and do what he needed to do, and now he's alone. Living alone, with his own technology and his own suit. Can't wait to see where this goes.

"If you're nothing without this suit, then you shouldn't have it." This is such a great line

"Big Man in a suit of armor. Take that off who are you?" A flawed, imperfect yet still heroic man who is terrified of losing everything he loves.

I love it because Tony really acts like a real father, knowing that he had to be tough on Peter so that he could understand the danger of the situation even if it drove them apart.

This scene is the best because Tony Stark sees alot of himself in Peter Parker. He knows Peter has potential and he needs to find himself.

And here we discovered that Tony Stark is more scary than Iron Man

You can see the pain and hurt in Tony Stark's eyes when he tells Peter to give the suit back. If you have a kid or a sibling twice as younger than you, then you'll understand the pain. "Proof that Tony Stark has a heart".

Went from “I’m nothing without this suit” to “DO IT! Make everyone forget…me” greatest character development ever!

Peter:"If you even care you will even be here." 0:40 Tony: *I see you have chosen death*

I love the subtle shift to a gentler tone at 1:40 when Tony says, “Okay, we’ll sort that out” promising to get Peter other clothes so he can give the Spider-Man suit back. He’s mad at Peter (and really scared for his safety, too) but in that moment, he sounds almost reassuring. Regardless of how scared and angry he is, he’s still the caring parent (or parental figure, anyway) figuring out the logistics of providing for the kid he’s committed to mentor. Even while he’s in the middle of scolding Peter and confiscating things from him, he’s still willing to put that on hold to make sure Peter’s needs are met.

I really liked how the relationship between Spiderman and iron man where displayed in the MCU. Tony really loves this kid as a son. I almost cried in end game.

God I love the character development tom’s Spider-Man has. Going from a kid who desperately wants the approval of his ideal to a hero who is okay with losing literally everything to protect the people he loves. Perfect.

This was always such a beautiful "father/son" moment to me. For many reasons. In my life, I can remember having been Peter looking at Tony as if he was a dictator. And I have been Tony, coming to the realization that I became what I never said I would become; my father. It really is a bittersweet feeling- to finally understand WHY your old man did things the way he did, and to realize how much you really just didn't get. Time really is the greatest teacher.

This is like the one moment where Tony’s character arc hits the peak. Beautiful. True father and son moment.

"If you're nothing without this suit then you shouldn't have it" Literally Tony Stark's entire character arch in a single sentence Edit 7 months later: Literally half the replies "well um actually without his suit he's still a billionaire playboy genius philanthropist." No, without the suit he's a corpse laying in an unmarked grave in the middle of Afghanistan.

The fact that the “THIS IS WHERE YOU ZIP IT” line is improvised, makes this better😌

What a great scene. Robert Downey's acting here is incredible. He is so iconic and yet, I forget about the actor when I watch this. Truly amazing how Tony Stark is portrayed in this one.

I love how this scene showed that tony wanted peter Parker to have some responsibility so parker would not make same mistakes he did

I bet Tom Holland had a real oh shit moment when he said ZIP IT. That would make any kid sit up straight. No acting required there. Phenomenal acting by RDJ

When he steps out of the armour it's SO bad-ass lol. Peter's reaction of pure dread is priceless!

Peter: I just wanted to be like you Tony: And I wanted you to be better Peter: Like Captain America? Tony: Okay it's not working out, I'm gonna need the suit back

Peter saying “I’m nothing without the suit...” was the same problem Tony had in Iron Man 3, until he realized even without the suit he’s still Iron Man.

Peter was getting cocky because of his enhanced suit. He was totally Spider-Man before he met Tony. In fact when Tony first recruited him, he was just talking about "upgrading" Peter's suit.

This...hits different now. The MCU build up to the finale is over and I feel like kinda sad because nothing will feel like when these movies came out ever again. They’ll try, but never as good.

This scene is the reason why RDJ made that much money for appearing in the film for 5 minutes.

What’s amazing is Tony undergoes his own character development, from the time him and Cap are trading blows in the original Avengers. Tony, throughout the entire Infinity Saga, has to prove he’s not just a man under a suit. He relays this same lesson to his mentee. And when his time comes, he sacrifices everything to save the universe. Peter witnesses Tony fully prove that he is just as much of a hero on the inside as he is on the outside. Long after Tony is gone, Peter still struggles with his role as Spider-Man and still has things to learn, and before long, his world starts to crumble once everyone learns who he is. When everything reaches the point of no return, Peter, after witnessing his mentor sacrifice himself to save the universe, follows in his mentor’s footsteps and sacrifices everything, fully proving he’s as much of a hero inside as out, and finally becoming the Spider-Man he was meant to be, just like Tony taught him. It’s just too perfect, and absolutely amazing. This trilogy has been an amazing ride and the ending is the perfect bittersweet goodbye.

Said many times, but the expression on Peter's face when Tony steps out is just perfect. Good job, Tom.

No one notices how Tony says "God, I sound like my dad.", expressing how close the two have become.

Tony: Give me the suit back Peter: Mr. Stark please I'm nothing without this suit Tony: I missed the part where thats my problem

"If you're nothing without the suit, then you shouldn't have it." that simple dialog from Tony really has a great emphasis of what avengers is all about. Everyone is something even without their suit. The non-giving-up club, I love them so much.

Tony: And if you die I feel like that’s on me Infinity war tony: .....

I love the fact that Peter willing to stand up to “Iron Man” and even get right up there in his face, but the moment “Tony” steps OUT of the suit, he’s backing up like “Oh sh*t, I really f*ucked up, didn’t I?”

"I don't have any other clothes." "I didn't mean like right here.. just give it back later."

This scene is crazy. Tony has so much aura that during their talk, Peter can't help but subconsciously retreat backwards away from Tony, but Tony chases him, making sure the scolding is as personal as it can be.

"If you're nothing without that suit, then you shouldn't have it". Tony has lived by this line himself and therefore, he has all right to tell this to Peter. Remember in the first Avengers movie when Steve Rogers asks Tony, "Take that suit. What are you?" and Tony replies, "Genius, Billionaire, Playboy, Philanthropist". The suit was never his identity and he never let it become.

This whole scene was SO PERFECT at nailing the Dad/Kid relationship forever between these two AND the set up of Tony being essentially an absentee father who makes his kid feel like he doesn't take him seriously by not bothering to show up in person and only sending a remotely piloted Iron Man suit while distracted by a cushy lavish party earlier in the movie, combined with the clever audio distortion that makes his voice sound like he's talking on speaker phone, AND the brilliant flinch by Tom Holland that sells it like he thinks his dad is going to hit him, made Tony stepping out of this suit one of the biggest gasp moments of the entire MCU in the theater, as people in the crowd reacted like dad just stood up and got loud in a way that scared them.

The second Tony said "And I wanted you to be better." was when I finally realized how much he developed and matured over the course of the MCU. That in turn made it even more painful for me when he died in Endgame😭😭

Such a power move, getting out of the suit with that stare when Peter thinks Tony's not there.

It's like a father reprimanding his son for disobedience, lol.
