I love how Peter Parker is able to engineer a webbing with a tensile strength so high it impresses Tony Stark but is somehow proud of himself for passing an algebra test. Weird.

“Nobody knows” just doesn’t hit the same anymore

"Climbing walls, how you doing that? Adhesive gloves?" Minor thing, but I like that line. I like that Tony tried to come up with a technical explanation on Peter's powers rather than instantly assuming that "oh you've got the gimmick and abilities of a spider, I assume you got those abilities from a radioactive spider as well and it's in your DNA?" He probably first assumed spider man was some kid who accidentally found a bootleg super soldier serum and his other abilities are just tech.

Tony's like his dad speaking to his son 😂 😂 I love how Tony knew where he was hiding his suit straight away

The fact that Tony looks on youtube to find superheros kills me

It's still funny to me that Peter tried to bluff the worlds most tech savvy man with "youtube and editing".

I kind of miss this Peter. He didn't have any worries, and the highlights of his day were that he didn't miss his train, he aced his Algebra test, and he found a perfectly good DVD player.

The “get me out of this” line by Tony at the end always makes me laugh 😂

“I couldn’t then, so I shouldn’t now” is so underrated as a moment, it’s such a great window into Peter’s character. He could be famous and popular, like most people would be tempted to be, but he knows from experience the little guy needs help more. Love this scene.

Long time Marvel nerd here. Out of every single solitary MCU film ever made, this is easily my most favourite scene. Flawless chemistry between the performers, and all the depth and heart a comic fan could ask for, with a touch of comedy. Perfect!

For those who don't know. When stark said "im going to sit here, so move your leg." That part was completely improvised by Robert. Tom was not on his place marker where he was suppose to be sitting, so instead of cutting the scene, Tony gave him a heads up to move over while still being in character. Just a little fun fact. Shows you the levels of actors professionally.

I really like how they waited 4 years to use the, "with great power comes great responsibility" line, but they still incorporated the concept at 2:37. Edit: A year later after writing this comment I realized that the entire first 3 movies were about this. Peter Parker does whatever he can against his better judgement to ensure the best result, soley because he is the only one who can help. In homecoming, after trying to prove himself to Tony, he remembers that the reason he played the hero role was because he had to by virtue of being capable of doing so. Despite being un-apprenticed by Tony, with no real motivator, he still helps out, just because he can. Even until the very end of the movie, he could have let Vulture die, but he elected himself to help everyone, even if it is difficult in the long run. His handling of power wavers. In Far From Home, after Tony's death, he finds himself with Tony's greatest weapon, but steps down from the responsibility to have the power bared by someone else. Only after realizing that he was granted this great power because he was expected to be responsible with it, he goes against all odds to repair the damage he has made. His handling of responsibility wavers. In No Way Home, we're met with absolute catastrophe in his life. All odds are against him, there is no great weapon, there is no obligation to help, and with everything on the line, he has an easy and ethically sound solution to his problem, but he still persists simply because he might be able to help. Though it being the difficult route, he still endures through the most sound resolution. And even at the very end, he distances himself from his only friends, to avoid putting them back into harm's way. In this last movie, he balances power and responsibility perfectly. The trilogy honestly just tells the story of a weak and irresponsible teen learning to hone himself and produce greatness for the people around him despite the immeasurable trifle in his life. In the end, he sacrifices his well being consistently as a means to fully utilize his power and bare the responsibility of the safety of his city, all while stepping out of the shadow of the people who raised him and truly becoming his own man.

I love the slight hesitation Stark has before putting his hand on Peter's back. It's really subtle but I think it makes for excellent characterization.

I like how they introduce Peter in the MCU; they don't provide much of backstory like the others because EVERY Marvel fan should already know it, regardless of whether you've read the comics or just seen the old SP movies.

I just wish I'd seen this scene long before now. Tom plays a teenager so well, and I know what I've missed in life as my father died early and I have no children. The later encounters between the two characters only bring back the feelings I missed.

The character development on Tom's Spiderman is one of the best things in the MCU

This is one of the VERY FEW moments of Tony giving a genuine compliment about someone else’s tech. He’s truly impressed by the web fluid. I don’t think he’s ever been truly impressed by anything that didn’t have “Stark” on the patent.

Mr. Stark is like everyone’s best freinds in a sleepover.

This relationship they built was pure genius. When happy played AC/DC in the airplane and watched Peter build his suit, I was chopping onions to be sure.

You just gotta love how wholesome the conversation between Peter and Tony was here, these two had strong chemistry and I miss it dearly.

"When you can do the things that I can and you don't. And bad things happen, they happen because of you" is such a better way of saying "with great power comes great responsibility.' It sums up Tony Starks entire change of personality between the supporting the Sokovia Accords and the end of the movie. It sums up the issue of Utilitarianism for Tony. And it's why he support Captain America from the shadows. the same thing happens with Danzō Shimura in Naruto when he meets Itachi.

“When you can do things that I can, but you don’t, and then the bad things happen, they happen because of you” The perfect way to say the great power quote without actually repeating it

I love how Cap warns about Antman joining his team bc of danger while Tony Stark straight up hired a 14 years old kid to be a mercenary.

Tom and RDJ's chemistry is unmatched. Could watch them act together in an hour-long scene and never get bored!

Tony would have never guessed he would end up caring so much for this child.

Am I the only one that wants to see Peter in the avengers facility just asking the winter soldier for help with his history homework?

They really had great chemistry in these films, but I love seeing Peter's arc - now he's finally on his own and about to really become the best version of himself....albeit probably after a run in with The Symbiote, lol.

I read that Robert Downey Jr saying "I'm gonna sit here so you move the leg" was improvised because Tom Holland forgot the blocking and they kept it in!

What I always loved about this scene is that even tho he had these powers for 6 months and he is not fully developed as a Spiderman he has some kind of "Spider sense" or insane reaction when he catches the web cartrige when Tony throws it at him.

Love the chemistry between Tony and Peter. My favourite incarnation of Spider-Man

And to think, he would go from, 'trying to protect the little guy', to fighting along side Iron Man, fighting Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and win, then fight Captain America, lose but still held his own pretty well, help take down giant ant man, taking down a guy in a mecha vulture suit powered by Chitauri tech, helping save the universe, and then the multiverse. Even though he almost broke the second one in the first place, only to then go back to 'protecting the little guy'. He's come full circle now, and I can't wait to see what's in store for him next.

I feel like the whole “my senses are dialed to 11” thing was an interesting interpretation of Peter’s spider sense that wasn’t explored as much as it should have been

"I couldn't then so I shouldn't now" is fucking PROFOUND. He's fully aware he's juiced enough to slaughter the line, but he's honorable enough to know he can't abuse what he has.

After watching NWH, This scene is like totally different from the 1st time i've seen it. It shows the relationship between Spiderman and Iron Man and "And when the Bad things happpen they happen Because of you" line felt different and hit harder.

Peter’s explanation for why he does what he does; they got it perfect.

1:22 This whole sequence here, complete with him looking goofily into the goggles, was really him being super smart and likely figuring out what adjustments and features he should add to the suit for Peter. Think about it, he finds out that: -Peter has amazing reflexes -Peter doesn't need a new web formula -Peter made the webbing himself and is very smart -Peter doesn't need adhesive gloves or shoes -Peter needs to have sensory-related adjustments All from this one wholesome scene.

2:37 The acting in this scene is amazing. Peter is so sincere about his duty, especially because of what happened to his uncle, and Tony literally gets the hundred-yard-stare for a couple seconds and is like "Holy shit, a kid who already learned the lesson it took me tons of trauma and guilt to learn. He's a keeper."

I love how its only at the very end, after he learns WHY Peter wants to be Spiderman, that Tony shows him respect by calling him Spiderman. There was no mocking or condescending tone. He actually believed Peter wanted to be a hero.

Their chemistry really gave the whole marvel product a big boost for the comin movies. Instant hit.

I so loved their relationship and dynamic, they are so lovely. Mentor, mentee. Big brother, little brother but with so much respect in the end. Loved the evolution of Tony mentoring Peter and helping him grow, not only as Spiderman, but as a person and man as well.

"Wow, nice catch. 3000 pounds, 40 miles per hour, that's not easy" Tony would know because he did the exact same thing in the first Iron Man film.

At 3:10 Robert actually said that line because Tom was supposed to move over for that beat but they kept it in and it works so well haha

I understand that people didn’t want an origin story for mcu spider-man, but hearing him talk about how “when you can the things I can but you don’t, and then the bad things happen, they happen because of you” makes me really want to know how he got bit or what happened to uncle Ben or how did he make his first suit (as simple as it is) There’s just a lot of context I want to know and I can’t be the only one

They have a way better father and son relationship than Thor and Odin

I love his little head tilt and wink when he figures out Pete's hiding spot. It's such a parental moment.

No matter what anyone says, I still believe that Tony seeing Peter's picture, is what made him take back what he said about not helping the others do a time heist.

Tony: "... get me out of this." Peter: "That'll dissolve in two hours."

I love that moment when Peter says _"when you can do the things that I can, and then the bad things happen... they happen because of you"_ because you can see Tony's eyes look down a little, likely as he's self-reflecting on the bad things that happened because of him, which led him to become IronMan. The words of that teenager just hit him right in the heart at that moment.

“Look, when you can do the things that I can, but you don’t, and then the bad things do happen? They happen because of you.” Notice how Tony leans forward as he says this? He relates to that sentence perfectly. That’s exactly why and how he started off as being Iron Man.

Peter denying he’s Spider-Man was literally Andrew Garfield during every press interview this entire past year. (00:20-00:30)

When an actor can show you what they're thinking about without saying a word, it really shows their level of talent. The moment Pete explains, "when you can do the things that I can but you don't, and then the bad things happen (Uncle Ben) they happen because of you," Tony relates without saying a word. Solid acting on both parts. Tom sells the biggest mistake of his life perfectly. Doesn't get too into it but the pain is there.

1:40 makes me die laughing every single time

This is just a really good scene. I don't think Tom ever does Peter Parker more justice than in this scene. Like... this is just exactly who Peter is.
