here's and idea: fill a kettle full of water, boil it, heat an empty pot while the kettle heats up, put a tiny bit of it at the bottom of the pot so it doesn't splash over the edges, go slow so it doesn't splash, when the water cools down, dump it out and pour in some more hot water from the kettle. if u happen to have a lid that doesn't cover the pot completely but just covers a small part inside the pot (if that makes sense) then that helps prevent splashes
The pot method works great - Just DO leave some boiling water in the pot, and you can also close the lid, this way pot stays very hot. Just make sure before you boil it that the bottom of the pot is cleaned with dishwashing soap and has nothing on it that can stain, even if you use protective fabric.
Wrinkle resistant clothing is one of the best alternatives. I have used the hairdryer method before and it works well while traveling. Anti-wrinkle spray works as well but might require more lead time to relax the fabric. If ironing is the best option, I usually set a time period to iron a batch so I will only do the ironing once.
This is a really great video. Well done! About the pot: why not leave some water in it? Water holds a tremendous amount of heat energy, and will prevent the pot from cooling down quickly. Even 1" of water, to prevent slopping over the edges, would keep the pot warm longer.
Love these hacks! Some I've used before actually. I love the hair straightener idea, never thought of that. That would probably be the best alternative. I have used a hair blow dryer. Doesn't 100% solve the wrinkles, maybe 85%, but makes a significant difference. Kinda got tired of it though and eventually bought an iron for $30 at a buyout resell store.
I use the DIY anti-wrinkle spray all the time, it works best on cotton and cotton knit like T shirts. I’ve never had any luck with steamers - even expensive ones; probably user error.😁 The hairdryer works pretty good on damp clothes or in conjunction with the anti-wrinkle spray on heavier fabrics. For large or heavy items I put them in the dryer with a damp towel on touch up setting, remove immediately when dyer stops and hang or lay flat. It doesn’t give crisp edges but it does work on removing over all wrinkles. I’m going to try the hair straightener tool, that is a new one to me!👍🏻
Thank you for telling me hours to make my own anti wrinkle spray! Something else you can do is dampen the clothes and smooth them over an upholstered piece of furniture or a bed and let dry.
I liked your style but it seems you don't have much content for the subject of the channel. I'm sure with your style you could make more videos about house hacks. Best of luck
Thank you for making this video. These were helpful tips! I have three questions for you. (1)Do you have any advice for ironing sheets? (2) How do you usually clean the surface of the ironing plate? (3) Do you have any ironing accessories (e.g., storage solutions, ironing boosting sprays, best board covers) you recommend?
I put my shirt on starting backwards and use hot water on a washcloth while standing infront of a fan and smooth out the wrinkles then put it on straight and press the front
Addition to number 7, do not use a pot, use a flat bottomed tea kettle, leave the hot water inside it gives depth for pressing onto the fabric and you can further more use the hot water to moisten the cloth to move with ease on the fabric
I am trying to find a solution to get out wrinkles out of a new bedspread I just bought. I am glad to find your channel because I hate hate hate ironing!
Please be respectful. Don’t post irrelevant things just because you have a belief. I can also remind you, your parents love you and your friends. And they are actually in the real world. 🥰
