Training? 3.8k paddle in Lake Woodlands, 180k bike with lots of headwind then 42k trot with a sore foot from smashing into all the control joints on the Hardy Toll rd. all the Type 2 fun and games we self impose lol 😅

Well done Alex. Loved James trying to explain all the different race series to him. It is hard enough as someone in the sport to keep up with them, let alone for someone who doesn't have lots of knowledge about triathlon.

Really nice to see GCN learn more about triathlon 😉😊. A tips for a video- GCN got one really good video about how you shall train when you come back after sickness. Do something similar- how much ( or little) when you start up again, what kind of training which zone how long and the progression up to 100% of your level. And maybe not less important- how much (or little) fitness you loose cause of the illness. Mark got one video but you can follow up that one. Thank you GCN - you really helped me out do my training plan after one bad week of sickness. Marie-Louise

It was actually a pretty cool day for Texas weather. It was shady and there was a cool breeze. I guess there was some humidity but racers got blessed with not typical hot Texas weather

You guys didn't mention that Tayler Reid held on for third in Chengdu despite slowing down to vomit in the last 800 meters! I thought he got a cramp, or something. I've actually never seen somebody continue to run at that speed while vomiting. It was disgusting, but very impressive! Also, Tomas Rodriguez Hernandez is the pro Mexican triathlete to ever win an Ironman, which is just super awesome!

Great to see Alex help you GTN-guys (and girl) out! It's actually rather confronting that a cycling guy, who must be well vested into sports, doesn't know any triathlete at all. Even goats like Jan Frodeno and Daniela Ryf are names he never heard before. Makes me realize we triathletes are very much living in our bubble. A very happy bubble I must add.

Rim brakes were more than adequate when we were riding on alloy wheels, and now that almost every wheel is carbon, disc brakes are just safer.
